Dream admits to cheating during Minecraft speedruns

The famous YouTuber and Streamer, Dream recently responded to the December 2020 speed run controversy in Minecraft. He admitted to the cheating while trying to make the fastest speed run record. The world-famous streamer confessed that he had increased drop rates enabled during these speed runs.

Last year, Dream was accused of cheating on one of his Minecraft speedruns. This led to an investigation into the situation by the Speedrun.com. As a result, his fifth-place run got rejected by the Speedrun.com moderators.

This caused controversy between Dream, third parties, and moderators after Dream actively argued against the results of the investigation. Nearly after five months, the Minecraft player admitted his mistake apologized for dragging the speedrun website’s moderators “through the mud.”

He wrote, I feel like this is something important to talk about, I’ve been very withheld for a while about it all and just decided it’d probably be best to just let it out so I can feel relaxed a little more I guess. This will be a very long read i’m sure, I’m writing this in my bath at 4am on my phone so forgive any mistakes or confusing bits.

“When the drama first started I cared more about defending myself and being right, than about figuring out what was actually going on and I shot myself in the foot by doing it. I felt really terrible for the mods because I dragged them through the mud even though they were mostly right.”

According to Dream, he had no idea that increasing drop rate would be called for cheating as increasing the drop rate through plugins makes this process quicker. He did not know this was happening during the speed runs. While going for his Minecraft Manhunt series he increased drop rate and didn’t realize they were also enabled for his speed runs.

At last he said,” I hope that this gives insight into my mindset a little bit, but if not I’m not sure what will. I’m sure I’ll talk about it more just for clarity sake, but I want to avoid causing more drama. please don’t send any hate to the mod team or anyone involved in the situation, I don’t want any more drama at all, you’re no supporter of mine if you do.”

Map 1: Split

Split was the first map that kicked off the series, with Sentinels on the attacking side, and the North American side ran all over the Fnatic defence as they stormed to a 5-1 lead, with Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan leading the charge for his team including a plethora of key plays.

Fnatic then finally adjusted to Sentinels’ system and strung four rounds together to build up an economy and halt their opponent’s momentum. Jake “Boaster” Howlett came out on top for Fnatic with a ridiculous 3K to further dent Sentinels’ plans as the European team notched five rounds in their first half.

Coming from the break, Sentinels eventually extended their lead to 10-6 but weren’t able to follow it up, however, as they were constantly getting caught off-guard by Fnatic’s troops, which gave the Europeans a sizeable lead to work with thanks to Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev’s heroics. Things eventually came down to an overtime with Sentinels claiming both the rounds in the latter, going 1-0 up in the five-match series.

Map 2: Bind

Carrying their momentum into Bind, Fnatic strolled to a 6-2 lead on their attack which featured Domagoj “Doma” Fancev’s 3K in an attempt to slip into the Bomb-site. A couple of back and forth rounds saw Sentinels bag just four rounds in their first half.

The North American side then picked up the pace and overcame the deficit after giving their opponents very little space to operate, with the European side struggling to find openers. ShahZaM and co seemed to be much more livelier of the two sides as they quickly hit five rounds despite losing the pistol after Fnatic had got away with a successful ninja defuse.

The European squad would not let that setback get to them as a combined effort from James “Mistic” Orfila and Derke in the 24th round saw Fnatic force overtime on Sentinels. We further witnessed the game enter into a triple-overtime, though the first two couldn’t determine the winners. The third overtime saw Sentinels restore parity as they exercised demolition over Fnatic , eventually extending their lead to 2-0.

Map 3: Haven

Sentinels had a remarkable start on their map pick as they went on to add nine rounds in their first half after constantly changing their setups and going for aggressive plays. They conceded only three rounds throughout the entire half and seemed to be in a comfortable position heading into the second half.

The North American side, however, was dismantled by Fnatic’s combative play style as the latter bounced back with straight six rounds in the bag following a blunder from the first half.

Things did start to look scary for SicK and co as Derke on his Jett role pierced through Sentinels’ defence as Fnatic were on the verge of forcing yet another time over their opponents.

It was ShahZaM who fought off the Europeans on a close but successful retake, helping his side take away the Stage 2 Masters trophy along with $200,000.

We are done with one of the major Free Fire Esports events of this year, the Free Fire World Series 2021. Phoenix Force is the undefeated champions of the world’s most-watched esports tournament.

Yes, you heard it right. Free Fire World Series 2021 has created some insane records in the esports ecosystem. Every esports enthusiast is just talking about the massive numbers this event has gathered and reached new heights.

The finals of Free Fire World Series 2021 have finally ended and we have our champions, Phoenix Force. The team just stormed out the Free Fire battlefield and took on every team with ease.

IRL Streamer Tallulah Sexually Assaulted in Bangkok

IRL Twitch streamer Tallulah has been sexually assaulted during a live broadcast in the streets of Bangkok last Thursday i.e 27th May.

In Real Life(IRL) streams have grown in popularity among Twitch users and many have taken it up as the centre of their content. Such streamers walk around the streets with a GoPro actively streaming their journey. Such content is of interest to many which explains why the genre has been booming in recent times.

IRL streamers are often subject to harassment, bullying, racism and according to the latest reports, sexual harassment has also made its way into the list. Twitch streamer Tallulah, who runs of the top traveling channels on Twitch was groped from behind during an IRL stream in the streets of Bangkok, Thailand.

In the deleted clip, she can be seen breaking down in tears following the terrible act of sexual harassment. The culprit has not been identified yet but probably is a middle-aged Asian, possibly local judging by appearance. She believes that the person’s sole intention was to inappropriately touch her given that he did not make any attempts on her wallet or valuables.

Tallulah has canceled her following IRL stream as she will be filing a report of the incident to the police. This is not the first time an IRL streamer was harassed, much like Tallulah, several streamers have run into similar fate while broadcasting their travelling experience, notable IMJASMINE, who was groped on multiple occasions.

We hope that the local law enforcement authorities quickly get hold of the culprit and give Tallulah the justice she deserves. The experience will be hard to forget for her but knowing that the person was punished may help ease the trauma.

PMPL Arabia 2021 Super Weekend Week 2 Day 3: Match Recap, Overall Standings, Results

The final day of the PMPL Arabia Season 1: Super weekend Week 2 ended with Zombies Esports leading the standings with 359 points. The team managed to take 207 kills out of the 30 matches played. The squad also got 152 placement points which helped them to retain a lead of 16 points from the second leaderboard topper.

GUNZ Esport finished at the 2nd spot with 343 points including the 150 kill points. The squad holds the highest number of placement points (193). The third spot on the leaderboard was taken by SUDOR Esports with 269 points.

Super weekend points will decide the League Stage overall standings of PUBG Mobile Pro League Arabia Season 1. After three weeks of play, the top 16 teams will qualify for PMPL Arabia Season 1 finals.

PMPL Arabia 2021: Super Weekend Week 2 Day 3 Match Wise Summary

MATCH 1

The first match of the day was won by Real Tiger9 with 25 kills. It was one of the most interesting matches ever in the regular season due to the formation of the zones. The final circles of the matches were formed completely on the water with 8 teams in it. Being the water circle, none of the teams could take any fights. It was a funny scene for all the fans as the fate of all the teams was at the hands of the circle. Real Tiger9 conquered the zone and emerged as the winners followed by RTG Esports with 16 kills. It was a low-scoring game for all the teams, as the maximum of the players got killed due to the blue zone.

MATCH 2

The second match of the day didn’t go as planned for Galaxy Racers. They became the first team to get eliminated from the game. Rico Infinity Team took the chicken dinner with 12 kills thus gaining a total of 27 points. HOTLINE Esports finished at the second spot in the standings with 1 kill followed by Yalla Esports with 11 kills. The second match of the day was played on the Miramar.

MATCH 3

SUDOR Esports took their first chicken dinner of the day. The match was played on Sanhok where the team took a total of 7 kills. iKURD Esports managed to take 6 kills and finished at second position followed by Rico Infinity Team with 5 kills. Yalla Esports was the first team to get eliminated from the game without any kills. Galaxy Racers finished at the 12th spot with 4 points.

MATCH 4

NASR Esports took the chicken dinners in the fourth match of the day. The team was unstoppable and took out all the teams in the game. They scored a total of 26 points including the 11 kills. Yalla Esports finished at the second spot in the standings with 5 kills. Galaxy Racer was the first team to get eliminated from the match without any kill. SUDOR Esports was the second-highest kill leader of the match.

MATCH 5

The last match of the week 2 super weekend was played on Erangel map. The first circle in the game was formed on the northeast side of the map. Alpha Legends was the first team to get eliminated in the 16th position without any kills. GUNZ Esport got their first chicken dinner of the day with 15 kills. Rico Infinity Team secured the second spot on the leaderboard with a total of 23 points.

It’s a good time to be a Jett main, as it turns out that the South Korean Duelist is the most picked agent in the Valorant Masters Reykjavik, the biggest Valorant tournament we’ve seen this year. 

As revealed by VLR.gg, Jett tops the list of the most picked Valorant agents in Valorant Masters Reykjavik with a whopping 81% pick rate. This is certainly no small number, as it implies that the agent was picked over 4 out of 5 games in the tournament so far. 

The high pickrate for Jett is mostly due to her swift skillset that allows her to hop in and out of combat at will. Her ultimate, needless to say, is also one of the best ultimates in the game that refreshes after landing a successful kill.

Jett is followed by Sova in the list. The Russian Controller boasts a pickrate of 75%, implying that he was picked in about 3 out of 4 games throughout the major. His skillset is filled with utilities that allow his team to get information on the enemy team’s whereabouts which can prove to be a big advantage when taking sites.

Once again, Yoru finds himself in the bottom of the list, with a mere 3% pickrate so far in the tournament. This is quite surprising, since the agent had received a bunch of buffs due to his low pickrate in the professional scene.

The Lower Bracket final of VCT’s Stage 2 Masters was played between Fnatic (Region : Europe) and NUTURN (Region : South Korea) in an attempt to book a spot at the event’s Grand Finale. The match-up was won by Fnatic by the scoreline of 2-1.

Domagoj “Doma” Fancev and Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev were the main contributors in Fnatic’s comfortable win over NUTURN on Bind. Fnatic came out swinging on Bind, their own map pick as they established an early rhythm on the attacking side. After a brief period of respite early in the half, NUTURN’s defense was ripped apart time after time, eventually ending the first half with the score of 4-8. 

NUTURN after the break were indeed successful in squaring out the round deficit but were yet unable to defy the limits as Fnatic went on to deny the South Korean organization from entering the sites followed by some successful retake attempts. It was Jake “Boaster” Howlett again who came out with his guns blazing and steered Fnatic to a 1-0 lead, thanks to his brilliant 3-kill attempt including that of the spike carrier as well.

Map 2: Ascent (NUTURN 13-8 Fnatic)

The pistol round win on their attack got NUTURN to a flying 6-1 start on Ascent as the South Korean Organization looked prime to build on. A combined effort from Kang “solokr” Keun-chul and Park “allow” Sang-wook eventually put NUTURN in the driver’s seat as Boaster and co looked destitute and listless in the first half. 

A promising start to the second half was soon soured for Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev and his men as Seo “suggest” Jae-young’s 2K on the A-site defense marked the end of the European side with NUTURN winning their map pick, 13-8. 

Map 3: Haven (Fnatic 13-8 Nuturn)

Fnatic faced closed contention in their decider map against NUTURN with both teams remaining dead locked in the first half. Despite Kim “Lakia” Jong-min spearheading NUTURN’s efforts in a bid to maintain their hold over Fnatic, the latter were able to extend their dominance over the first half thanks to Martin “Magnum” Peňkov’s heroics as they closed the first half 8-4. 

Haven barely seemed to be a contest for NUTURN in the second half and led by the raw aim of Derke as well as Boaster, Fnatic went on to extend their lead as they were quite successful in locking down Kang “solo” Keun-chul and co from the triple site map. The European side simply out-aimed and out-gunned NUTURN as they were able to clinch the decider with the score of 13-8 and win the series 2-1. 

Fnatic would now face Sentinels in the Grand Finals of the Valorant Champions Tour : Stage 2 Masters.

Fnatic Valorant set the tone for the match as they romped up to a 6-1 lead on their attack on Bind, with Team Liquid struggling to get into their rhythm during the early stages. Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom and Co then put some rounds together and brought the deficit to a minimum before Fnatic were able to re-establish control to end the first half in their favor, 7-5.

Team Liquid indeed came out of the break a more resolute side and quickly knotted the score thanks to ScreaM and Dom “Soulcas” Sulcas who partnered up to keep Team Liquid alive and put up a double-digit score on the board for their team. But Jake “Boaster” Howlett’s heroics with his Brimstone and a chaotic 23rd round proved to be catastrophic for Team Liquid as Fnatic went up 1-0 in the Best of 3 series.

Map 2: Ascent ( Fnatic 13-10 Team Liquid)

Team Liquid had a hot start on their map pick Ascent, 5-3, putting themselves in a good position early on into the defense. This time it was ScreaM who stepped up, with two consecutive multi-kill rounds, 5th & 6th with the latter culminating in a successful retake, eventually locking out Fnatic from their comfort zone. Liquid closed the first half with 7-5 on board.

Fnatic’s good spirits from Bind continued to bolster their gameplay further into the second half as both the teams went head to head. The game’s odds eventually shifted to Fnatic’s favor as Martin “Magnum” Peňkov rose to dominance in the game’s penultimate round, with the latter successfully pulling off a B-site retake, steering Fnatic to a 2-0 finish over Liquid.

Steam seems to be getting another UI overhaul

Valve’s Steam is constantly updated with quality of life features for PC gamers by introducing new tools to make searching for games easier or through sales for every event or season, which explains why it is the biggest marketplace on the platform. Steam seems to be getting a Library Manager as well as a redesigned downloads page sometime in the future.

The new downloads page looks a bit flatter, yet cleaner in comparison to the current version. Both Network and Disk-related information are now displayed side by side rather than being stacked on top of each other while the progress bar is now on the right side of the page, along with the rest of the information related to the game that is being downloaded.

Pavel Djundik, data miner and the creator of SteamDB were able to access these new features while looking into the SteamPal update, he shared images of the new features on his Twitter.

He also explained that there is “a new settings page as well, but it doesn’t open so easily though.”

The Library folders feature is also being expanded and renamed as Library Manager and will list system drives and currently installed games along with space they’re occupying on the selected disk, the Library Manager can also identify installed DLCs and Workshop content separately.

Steam’s last visual update was in 2019 when it introduced custom backgrounds and logos for games. The library update also added a collections feature which was previously called categories. Collections act as a folder for your Steam games where you can organize and stack them based on genre, features, and modes.

Nodwin, Riot announce Valorant Conquerors Championship with 25,00,000 INR pool

The much awaited announcement has finally happened. The official Twitter handle of Valorant India & South Asia did hint at a potential announcement at 22:30 hours IST and Riot games have not disappointed their ardent fans. The premier game publisher, developer and tournament organiser have announced a pathway towards the Valorant Champions Tour in collaboration with NODWIN Gaming.

The flagship event will be called the Valorant Conquerors Championship that will boast a mega prizepool of 25 lacs INR along with a concrete pathway towards a slot at the Valorant Champions Tour LAN event. The entire circuit will consist of 6 separate qualifiers, one each for the following regions:

  • India
  • Pakistan & Afghanistan
  • Srilanka & Maldives
  • Bangladesh
  • Nepal & Bhutan
  • Wildcard

Each of the qualifiers will have certain slots dedicated to the region, with the qualifying teams playing out an online phase which will see a given number of teams grab spots at the APAC Last Chance Qualifier. The teams qualifying from the Valorant Conquerors Championship will battle alongside South-East Asia, Korea and Japan, with the winner of the APAC Last Chance Qualifier earning a spot at the next Valorant Champions Tour event, which is likely to take place in Berlin, Germany.

The South Asian region, especially the Indian one, has gotten recognition for the widespread number of tournaments that have been conducted, with the region growing into a self-sustaining one as far as the sheer number of viewers, frequency of events and number of tournament organisers is concerned.

Now, with a pathway to Valorant Champions Tour, the South Asian region will be able to grow further and take one step further into gaining the international recognition.

“We at Riot Games have been listening to our fanbase in South Asia and the growing demand to include the region in our VCT 2021 roadmap. This is our first step in unlocking esports for the region. NODWIN Gaming is part of the mobile gaming conglomerate Nazara Technologies and has been the flagbearer for bringing international level events to the Indian and South Asian region. As far as Valorant is concerned, the Indian Tournament organizing powerhouse has found immense success with their Agni and Jazba series for the Indian and Pakistani region respectively.

The partnership between NODWIN Gaming and Riot games for the South Asian region has also been welcomed by Akshat Rathee, who highlighted this as a glorious opportunity for the region.

“This is a great opportunity for the entire VALORANT ecosystem in South Asia to catapult itself to stardom. A representation in the Last Chance Qualifier is much deserved looking at the richness of the community and the amount of buzz it has created in the last year.

The entry into APAC Last Chance Qualifiers alongside South-East Asian, Korean and Japanese teams will also provide the region more exposure. The registrations for the Valorant Conquerors Championship will begin from the 15th of June, with no actual date reserved for the start of the tournament.
