Orange Rock Esports sign new Battlegrounds Mobile India roster

Orange Rock Esports has signed new players to their Battlegrounds Mobile India roster after the old PUBG Mobile team was disbanded. The new team is a combination of veteran players and upcoming stars who dominated the regional scene before PUBG Mobile was banned. This new roster will compete in upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile India tournaments when the game is officially launched.

PUBG Mobile esports was dominated by a few teams before the game was banned in India and Orange Rock was one of them. This team was inches away from snatching the title of world champions at PUBG Mobile World League East 2020 and that performance made them one of the best in the country.

Orange Rock was lead by Mavi but when he departed from the roster, the future of this powerhouse was in question. The management responded quickly by hiring multiple replacements for their roster which was in shambles. The new roster comprises of following players:

  • Destro
  • Aditya
  • Vexe
  • Gill
  • Anto

All the names on this list are well-known players from the PUBG Mobile ecosystem. Gill was the latest addition to the PUBG Mobile roster of Orange Rock and he made a significant impact on the global stage. Destro and Aditya are budding talents who showcased their talent by winning PMCO India Fall 2020 under the banner of Team Xspark. Vexe is an exceptional player who played for Megastars before the organization shut down its operations.

This new roster oozes talent and their performance might be exceptional in the upcoming tournaments but the team has to adjust with a new in-game leader who will replace Mavi and lead team Orange Rock. Mavi is well known for his impeccable decision-making in tournaments and filling such a big role will be a daunting task.

Pokimane and Fedmyster Drama Explained

0

Federico “Fedmyster” Gaytan’s recent announcement of returning to live streaming has reignited some past controversies involving him and fellow Twitch star Imane “Pokimane” Anys. For those of you who are still in the dark about the entire drama that occurred between the two and other OfflineTV members, we have you covered.

It all started back in June 2020, when OTV members Yvonne “Yvonnie” Ng and Lily “LilyPichu” Ki simultaneously made allegations of sexual misconduct against Fedmyster. Yvonnie claimed that Fed would touch her and slip his hand under her sleeves without her consent while being drunk, while Lilypichu accused Fed of massaging her thighs inappropriately.

Pokimane joined them by posting a video of her own regarding Fed, who was kicked off Offline TV for the allegations afterward. Pokimane alleged that Fed had “crossed boundaries” with her and sabotaged her relationships with other men.

While Poki declined to be involved in any relationship with Fed, some leaked documents which were deleted later seemed to contain a bunch of attached screenshots of text messages between Fedmyster and Pokimane, which seem to hint toward the two flirting with each other. In the document, Fed claimed that the two had grown much closer following their trip to Taiwan.

The document was aimed to capture Fed’s take on the situation, which was quite different from what Poki had been explaining to her viewers.

“Claims she has made about me are either false, twisting the truth, or misconstrued,” Fedmyster said.

Pokimane responded to these allegations in one of her future Twitch streams.

“He asked me not to mention this thing – which to me is an admission of guilt essentially.” the 24-year-old said. “But now, months later, he’s saying, ‘oh no, that’s not how it went down.'”

The controversy slowly settled down over the next few months, before eventually resurfacing a few days ago.

A year later after the initial incident, as Fedmyster acknowledged his past actions and announced his return to streaming, Pokimane has explained her thoughts to her viewers and claimed that she won’t be friends with “someone who sexually assaulted people” she cares about.

“It’s not my place to say whether or not a person has changed because their actions and words will eventually speak for themselves,” Pokimane said during a live stream. “All I know is that I can’t be friends with someone who sexually assaulted people I care about and handled it the way that he did.”

Krafton Inc. invests in Indian Game Streaming service Loco

0

Loco, a live streaming platform in India, has secured $9 million in a funding round from various investors including Krafton Inc. Several other investors like Lakumai Ltd., Hero Capital invested in the seed round. 3one4 Capital and Axilor Ventures are also among the early investors in this Mumbai-based startup.

Apart from this Loco deal, Krafton Inc. has been actively participating in several activities to make its presence more lively in the Indian esports ecosystem. Earlier, the South Korean game developers invested a massive amount of $22.4 million in Nodwin Gaming to develop esports in the South Asian region.

Loco has expanded exponentially in the last year with a large increase in its numbers. The monthly active users have grown six times and their active streamers have increased by 10 times according to a Bloomberg report. The courtesy of this incredible growth is due to its participation in multiple events as a partner and its ability to add big streamers to Loco’s arsenal.

The startup said that they are going to use this funding to upgrade its technology and content. Loco Co-Founder Anirudh Pandita stated that “Cheap data and inexpensive phones brewed a perfect situation in India, creating a completely new category of entertainment. Over 100 million monthly active users in India engage with these games, imagine 100 million people playing a sport that no one’s watching — that’s what Loco set out to solve for.”

General Partner of Lumikai, Salone Sehgal said that “Over two-thirds of India’s millennials are gamers. India’s esports and streaming industry is set to grow at an average annual clip of 36% over the next three years, while game streaming watch time in India is already twice the global average.”

Loco Co-founder Ashwin Suresh said “India’s big focus is on mobile games. The best mobile game players in the world will definitely come from India.”

Mobile gaming has certainly been the biggest contributor in the esports industry for the Southeast Asian region and as Indian companies are securing enormous funds, a positive impact might be seen on the Indian esports ecosystem as well.

Pokimane asks xQc and Trainwreck to stop promoting illegal gambling sites

0

The biggest female streamer on Twitch, Pokimane, has asked fellow streamers in xQc and Trainwreck to hold back on promoting questionable gambling websites that may be “ethically ambiguous”.

Pokimane in her recent stream addressed the long-standing debate on whether gambling should be promoted in Twitch given how the platform boat users across all age groups. She had little to say on gambling streams but called out several top streamers from promoting websites that are “sketchy” and “ethically ambiguous” as she believes that doing so is “negatively impactful”.

She argued that most of the streamers with lucrative casino deals are already multi-millionaire in worth. Their financial cushion opens up several doors for them if something goes wrong which the general public can not afford to do. “It would be a good idea for people to sit down at that point and [ask themselves] what is ethically or maybe morally just not worth it,” she said.

“Obviously, the comments [about him] are all assuming the absolute worst and creating the worst narrative,” she said.

“I don’t even think people want to hate on him. I just think they want to hear him acknowledge the other side of the take,” she added.

“For example, if he just said, ‘I understand all the negatives of gambling, but I just decide that it’s worthwhile for me,’ I think people would respect that a lot more.”

Most of the community aligns with her thought process as most feel that influencers should refrain from promoting schemes/websites that carry a risk factor that can put their fans in a harmful way.

Vitality’s RpK’s car thrashed in a road accident

0

One of the top CS:GO professionals, Cédric ‘RpK’ Guipouy was involved in a major car accident this week. The good thing was that he didn’t have any injury, but the BMW M3 he was driving got damaged. The accident happened when RpK was on the road with a woman who apparently was trying to chase a ‘wasp.’ RpK is currently playing for French esports organization Vitality.

The road accident was reported by RpK himself to his fans through his social media accounts. A video of the incident was also shared with the caption, “I had a car accident 2 days ago on a road with a woman that was trying to chase a wasp from her car while driving. The car threw itself at me but I managed to avoid the worst and not hit the head one. No one is injured but RIP the M3.”

RpK’s car appears to have hit by a Peugeot 2008 model

Cedric ended his comment with “be careful driving.”

RpK’s car appears to have hit by a Peugeot 2008 model, driven by the women. Both the cars shared extensive damage as shown in the clips and photos shared by the 31-year old CS:GO star, who is currently benched in Vitality.

Road accidents in France are not uncommon, according to data compiled by Statista.com, the number of road traffic fatalities in France decreased from 4,709 in 2006 to 3,268 in 2013. Though in 2019, the number fell to 3,244 deaths.

The developers promised that a mode similar to TDM will be added to the game and it has been released in the form of a beta version.

Team Deathmatch mode differs for each game and in FAUG, the mode is quite similar to what we see in other mobile titles. This mode is going to be a 5 vs 5 multiplayer mode with new maps and guns. FAUG was launched with a simple story mode and only had melee weapons in the earlier phase but now, we can see proper equipment added to the game.

nCore Games made an announcement of the launch of Fearless and United Guards Team Deathmatch mode on their official Twitter handle and players can download the game and enjoy this new mode. This mode will take the game a step closer to making it more widely accessible and multiplayer friendly.

You can download the game by clicking here and try to enter the beta testing mode. Remember that slots may get full and hence, you may need to take multiple tries before successfully entering into the list of testers.

A completely new map and different kinds of guns and grenades are supposedly being added with this new mode. It will be interesting to see how this new mode turns out and how different mechanisms are employed in the new version.
