Deputy CM Manish Sisodiya Addresses Youth In India

Esports Premier League 2021 saw the completion of its long premier franchise league event. Mumbai Marshals emerged as the winner of the event on 29th August 2021. The team was represented by one of India’s finest Free Fire teams, TSM FTX. Esports Premier League 2021 (ESPL) is a nationwide eSports tournament first of its kind Free Fire tournament organized by India Today Gaming.

The mega prize distribution ceremony took place at a city hotel on 30th August 2021 in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Mr. Manish Sisodia and Ms. Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson, India Today Group, who awarded the champions and the runner-ups with the trophies and the cash awards.

“It was like a festival of Esports, playing out in the last couple of months. There was an overwhelming response coming from all over the country. The gamers showcased their A-game and the competition was nothing short of top class. I hope these athletes will further utilize this experience and win medals for the country in the coming time” said Mr. Vishwalok Nath, Director, ESPL.

ESPL 2021 was a multi-city tournament over a period of two months. ESPL 2021 featured a massive prize pool of Rs 25,00,000 distributed among the top 8 teams. The league was divided into four phases starting with the in-house registrations of the teams. Over a period of two months, the best Free Fire teams of the country made it to the finals which were held on 29th Aug 2021. 

Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, while addressing the live viewers and players, said “Esports now is growing very fast. I am convinced that this “E” sport deserves all the support and recognition. I promise that the Delhi government will encourage Esports in every possible manner. We will be happy to encourage all the initiatives that will help the industry and the sector to grow.”

With the awarding ceremony, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also revealed the logo of the upcoming World Esports Cup, which is India Today Gaming’s next big eSports IP. The organizer aims to help in making India a global Esports powerhouse. More details regarding the event will be announced soon. ‘A Day Off Twitch’: Why Are Fans Boycotting Twitch?

Twitch stats have taken a massive hit today as several popular streamers are partaking in ‘A Day Off Twitch’ movement and choosing to stay off the streaming platform for a day. 

For the unaware, ‘ADayOffTwitch’ is a boycott of Twitch for a day organized by renowned streamers in protest against the recent rise of hate speech and harassment on the platform and Twitch’s inability to tackle the problem accordingly. 

‘A Day Off Twitch’ boycott has been organized by popular streamers like RekitRaven, ShineyPen, and Lucia Everblack in response to the ‘hate raids’ that have been causing problems in the streaming community. These hate raids are organized by toxic viewers who use the ‘raid’ feature on Twitch to spread hate speech and harassment towards certain streamers on the platform. 

The boycott has been organized in protest against these hate raids and to force Twitch to implement changes to tackle this issue. 

So far, ‘A Day Off Twitch’ has been a successful boycott to say the least. According to a recent Tweet from Zach Bussey, Twitch had apparently taken a hit of 5,000 online streamers and 500,000 viewers at the time of writing. 

His Tweet reads, “According to charts from TwitchTracker, there are *currently* about 5000 fewer streamers live right now than last week and ~500,000 fewer viewers. (That’s a significant drop.)”

The boycott is expected to last for a day and participating streamers will likely return to streaming tomorrow. However, whether or not Twitch can regain its prior numbers post-boycott still remains to be seen.

Fortnite announces “Best Friendzy: Play Together” event, Get rewards

The best way to enhance your gaming experience is by playing it with your best friend. Better coordination with your friend increases the skills of the player. Fortnite has brought an event in which the players could play with their best friends and get rewards. The players could join the “Best Friendzy: Play Together” event from August 31 until September 12 at 4:00 PM EDT, by playing with a friend and unlock free in-game rewards.

GET STARTED & EARN POINTS

The players need to visit bestfriendzy.fortnite.com and follow the instructions provided to link your Epic account. Once complete, the developer will track your Best Friendzy progress with your friends. The rewards will be earned based on the time spent playing the game with your friends. So, the more you play with your friends, the more rewards you earn.

  • Every 10 Minutes Played Together in Battle Royale = 1 Point
  • Every 10 Minutes Played Together in Creative = 1 Point (maximum of 6 points per day)
  • Bonus: During your selected 60-minute Daily Bonus you will receive a 3X bonus for your time spent playing Fortnite (i.e., every 10 minutes played together = 3 points).

You must be registered and logged into the Best Friendzy website to track your point progression. Although your friends are not required to register for you to see your progress together, they can register if they want to track their own point progression. Note: Expect a delay of about 30 minutes for the status of your points progression to update on the site.

REWARD FRIENDZY

The players could convert these points into rewards. Best Friendzy marks the debut of four new in-game items, including:

  • Outer Space Handshake Emoticon = 3 points
  • Invasion Remix Track = 10 points
  • Life’s a Beach Wrap= 20 points
  • Aquari-Axe Pickaxe = 50 points

The players could play with more than one friend but need to fully complete the progression with a single friend to unlock rewards. So, team up with anyone on your Fortnite friend list! Earn points together in Battle Royale (Duos, Trios, Squads), or earn up to 6 points each day in Creative.

ESL reschedules IEM Fall NA and DreamHack Open NA qualifiers

The decision has been taken by ESL after coming under a lot of scrutinies by players and fans alike, as it would require teams to miss out on other events if they wanted to play in the RMR qualifier.

It was announced last month that IEM Fall would be the last RMR event for every region in order to qualify for the PGL Stockholm Major at the end of the year. And like every RMR tournament, teams would have the chance to qualify via open qualifiers and then through closed qualifiers if they wanted to make it to the main event.

But what ESL didn’t take into consideration was that a lot of teams vying for the spot, would also be playing Fragdelphia 15, during the same time period. Ever since Valorant has been raking in the numbers,  Fragdelphia is one of the very few tournament organizers left in North American CS, trying to keep the scene alive, and having to miss out on it would be a big blow, especially for lower-tier teams.

After a lot of players expressed their grievances, as well as a former player and twitch streamer Erik ‘fl0m’ Flom, ESL and DreamHack took note and did their due diligence, moving the tournament so it doesn’t clash with the pre-planned LAN tournament, Fragdelphia 15. The Australia and New Zealand qualifiers for DreamHack have been rescheduled as well.

IEM Fall North American qualifiers:

  • Open Qualifier #1: September 7-8
  • Open qualifier #2: September 11-12
  • Closed qualifier: September 18-19

These qualifiers were earlier scheduled from August 28th till September 12th.

Valorant: A nosedive into the Fracture

Their efforts were noble, but sacrifices must be made. Get ready to contest the Fracture, an accidental rift created, a result of a coverted experiment gone wrong.

During the VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters, held in Reykjavík, Iceland, the community witnessed a cinematic explaining “Duality”, a fight between the same set of Valorant agents. From the duo Killjoy and Viper addressing an unusual radiante signature from the environment to Phoenix confronting his own version, but from another mysterious and a parallel habitat, it all comes down to the sole scratch on our heads, “Which timeline does the real estate in Fracture belong to”

Today Valorant on their social media revealed a new map, known as the Fracture which is set to hit the game on September 8, a part of the 3.05 patch update. Along with this mysterious map comes a brand new battlepass with some exciting cosmetic packs, a chance to personalize your gameplay experience.

A press release was shared with TalkEsport ahead of the map’s launch and our writers got the opportunity to dig in more about this project. The developer notes consisted of a Q&A involving the group of designers, creators, and artists who further opened up about their goals and what actually led them to carve out Fracture.

I will try to keep this piece short but would really like to shed light on some key factors about this map, starting with the question “What If?”

Mr. Joe Lansford, Level Designer at Riot Games, focused on the idea where the attackers would start out on the map instead of the defenders and could pinch the latter. Fracture is designed in an H-shape with the defenders to start from the middle of the map. He further added that the structure would completely different when compared to other maps in the pool. Elements like Ziplines and Pathways will have their own say when it comes down to the actual release. Defenders might now need to figure out their own strategies ahead of the impending doom from the attackers.

The sites within Fracture were detailed by Lead Artist, Mr. Brian Yam who stated,

“The A-site is distinguished by its arid desert environment with its abandoned facilities deteriorating. B site is contrasted by lush, overgrown foliage left to take over the science facility. The mid-building is where the central collider is located, underneath where players can zipline through. Fracture is a special map from a design standpoint, but we also wanted to push unique solutions on the visual side. Having two distinct sides, allows visually interesting storytelling by prompting players to question the events that took place and the radical results that ensued. It also provides clear player orientation from a visual and callout perspective.”

An exclusive image from Riot further reveals two zip lines running beneath a certain energy source, which may profit the defenders in making their moves real quick, only to be found out on September 8.

The whole foundation of Fracture was initially showcased at the Stage 2 Masters of the Valorant Champions Tour where the concept of Duality was pondered upon through a cinematic.

According to Mr David Nottingham, Creative Director at Riot Games, the birth of Fracture was a result of conflict between two earthly forces, but from planet Earth’s other twin. What we learned today does connect to Valorant’s mirror-verse theory and with the launch of Fracture on the Horizon, there might lay a potential plot for the lore behind the concept of Duality.

Microsoft has announced the list of the new titles that will be coming to the Xbox Game Pass in the month of September 2021. We have previously covered the list for the month of April and May.

There are also numerous games that will be removed from your Xbox Game Library in the coming weeks. Although, you’ll be given a notice a few days prior to removing these games to help you finish them up or buy them at a discount before they are gone.

The exact reveal date for the Xbox Game Pass has still not been announced. It is most likely to be updated in intervals by the Microsoft team through their Twitter page. It will be interesting to see which other games will be added to this exciting list.

With the first act of Valorant Episode 3 nearing its end, fans across the world are growing eager to know more about what Riot Games has in store for them in the upcoming Battle Pass for the highly anticipated Episode 3 Act 2.

Alongside an all-new map and a bunch of new content to the shooter, Episode 3 Act 2 will also bring with it an all-new Battle Pass with an exciting rewards’ line for the players to enjoy. 

The Episode 3 Act 2 Battle Pass will include new skins, sprays, gun buddies and player cards to collect. All of these exclusive items will be separated into two reward lines – free and paid.

Players can choose to receive the free rewards without having to buy the pass. However, buying the pass will enable players to obtain better and more items from the Battle Pass as they level it up. 

Luckily, details about the Act 2 Battle Pass have already been revealed by Riot, and we at TalkEsport had the chance to take the first looks at it.

Visceral’s Dead Space took the world by storm when it was released in 2008 and was praised for its eerie atmosphere, gameplay, and story. Following its success, the game expanded into a series and received several spin-offs, sequels, and animated movies. Unfortunately, the franchise was put on hold due to Dead Space 3’s lackluster sales, and the studio behind the mainline games, Visceral, was shut down by EA.

With the success of EA’s single-player titles such as Jedi: Fallen Order, the studio is hoping to revive the Dead Space franchise with something fresh, yet familiar.  The remake was announced this year during EA Play and is being developed by Motive Studios, the studio behind Star Wars: Battlefront II and Star Wars: Squadrons.  Inspired by Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake, Dead Space is a complete re-imagination of the first game in the series and is being developed using the Frostbite engine.

Motive Studios shared an in-depth look into the Dead Space remake, while the game is still in an early development phase, the developers shared a few gameplay snippets and upcoming changes to both the gameplay and level design. 

One of the biggest changes is that Isaac will be voice by none other than Gunnar Wright who previously voiced Isaac in Dead Space 2 & 3. Other than a few grunts here and there, Isaac never really spoke in the original game.

Motive Studios have set a few rules to make Isaac’s dialogues feel more natural:

  • Isaac will primarily only speak when spoken to. 
  • Isaac will sometimes speak in a situation where it would feel weird if he remained silent.

This change seems promising, considering how Isaac barely reacted to anything during the entirety of the first game.

Similar to Dead Space 2 and 3, the remake will also let you float in zero gravity, whereas in the original game, players would have to leap from surface to surface, and as a result, the movement was fairly limited. 

The live stream featured some early footage that focused on a revamped combat system. While the remake intends to retain the dismemberment feature, any sort of damage on Necromorphs will now reflect directly as their flesh and skin will fall off if they’re hurt enough, resulting in visible bones and guts.

The remake is far from being complete and isn’t expected to launch until late 2022, however, Motive aims to get feedback from fans and the Dead Space community by showing off their plans for the game. “We wanted to do this because we wanted to be open with the communication, and open with how we’re tackling this game,” Dead Space’s senior producer, Philippe Ducharme said during the stream.

Dr. Tej A. Shah at Zen Family Dental announced the challenge in a YouTube video where he welcomed to try their hand at getting a free dental checkup. “Do you have what it takes to beat me in Smash?” he challegend. “Go against me one-on-one and if you win, you get a free dental cleaning.”

Dr. Shah previously saw Smash as an opportunity to attract patients. In the August of 2021, he hosted a Smash tournament at his clinic with a $250 Amazon Gift Card as a reward.

Free dental treatment is an exciting prospect which means Dr. Shah is up or a few busy days. Smash players are handed an opportunity to get a free dental check up but they have to over a pretty confident doctor.

The Episode 3 Act 2 “Reflection” in Valorant will be made available on September 8 with a new map, “Fracture” along with a brand new Battlepass.

Battle Pass in Valorant is a set of cosmetic items that players can obtain by progressing through the same. Comprising 50 Tiers across 10 acts, the player can earn a certain number of free rewards (marked with the green gradient) and premium prizes (marked with the red gradient).

The paid track can be redeemed by getting the premium version of the ACT 3 Battlepass which would cost you 1000 Valorant points in-game, near to around USD 10$ and 799 INR across the Indian region.  Each player is given access to a free version of the Battlepass and can earn rewards labeled as “free”. Other prizes are available when you purchase a special Premium version of the Battle Pass. Players might also opt to purchase the paid tracks, with each priced at 200 valorant Points. 

As said, every Battlepass in Valorant will cost you 100 valorant Points. A free and paid track would both give you rewards but the paid one is much more exciting with non-recurring, premium items which may indeed, personalize your gameplay. 

Ahead of the launch of Episode 3 Act 2, a brand new Battlepass has been added to the playlist and will be launched on September 8.

In a Developer Q&A session, Sean Marino, Art Lead at Riot shared his thoughts towards the development of the forthcoming Battlepass as he stated,

This is the first battlepass to feature a Phantom, Vandal, and Operator skin. Artisan and Varnish should feel like they’re made of luxury high-end materials, while Nitro is very graphic and flashy. For the accessories, we tried to incorporate a lot more jokes and memes into this battlepass, especially since players really seemed to enjoy some of the more meme stuff we’d put into others.
