Being able to record voice chat in Xbox game captures has long been one of the most requested features among Xbox users, and Microsoft is finally delivering. Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring can now include voice chat in their game captures and enjoy a bunch of other features.
Don’t worry though, your privacy is still safe with this new Xbox voice chat recording feature. Each person in a party will be able to control whether their own voice ends up in the recording, so nobody’s chat gets captured without their permission. Games with their own built-in chat systems will work a bit differently, and players there have to actively opt in, though that option won’t be available for every title.
In addition to voice chat recording in highlights, Xbox is getting a series of new features with this update. Microsoft is reworking how achievement history can be sorted. Moving forward, players can sort achievements by title, completion rate, Gamerscore, or total achievements earned. For players chasing 100% completion across a large library, that’s a small but genuinely useful organizational upgrade.
Cloud saves are getting some attention too. Select titles, starting with Forza Horizon 6, will let players roll back to an earlier cloud save if their current one gets corrupted. Meanwhile, wishlist capacity for gamers is also expanding, and unlike the other changes, this one’s rolling out to every Xbox player immediately rather than staying limited to Insiders.
While the majority of the aforementioned changes are limited to Xbox Insiders for the time being, fans can expect a broader rollout for everyone in the coming weeks.
