Who are the new characters in Genshin Impact 7.2?

Version 7.2 adds two Electro characters, as described in HoYoverse’s update announcement.

Mitya5-starElectroCatalyst
Valeriy4-starElectroSword

Mitya is built around a new reaction. She turns the party’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions, raises Stellar-Conduct DMG and stores a special energy. Her Elemental Skill deals regular Stellar-Conduct DMG to nearby enemies, scaling with that stored energy. Her Elemental Burst deals AoE Electro DMG and builds more energy.

Valeriy is a support who provides shields and raises Electro DMG, which makes him an easy fit next to Mitya.

Two areas open in eastern Snezhnaya. Novokitezhgrad is Snezhnaya’s main producer of Kresnik Kristall. Wingspan Peak is the site of Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s first city.

What happens in the Genshin Impact 7.2 Archon Quest?

The story picks up the Snezhnaya arc that began in Version 7.0. The Nails of Retribution are growing unstable, and pillars of light set off a phenomenon called the Holy Soil, causing a crisis in every nation. The Tsaritsa calls a gathering in Snezhnaya. The Traveler joins the Archons, Neuvillette and other allies there to try to stop the destruction of civilisation.

Finishing the Archon Quest rewards 560 Primogems and Ascension Materials for Mitya, according to HoYoverse.

What events are in Genshin Impact 7.2?

The main event has players and allies from across Teyvat, from Mondstadt to Snezhnaya, fight off the Holy Soil phenomenon. Tasks include rescuing wounded soldiers, relaying intel and finishing urgent assignments. Rewards include Primogems, upgrade materials and a free 4-star character of your choice.

Other events listed for the version include The Grand Defense: Defy the Unjust Judgement, the Stress Block Smashing Project, Frames of Fierce Splendor and a Ley Line Overflow rerun. A new round of Secret Tsarist Assignments also adds a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.

The update notes list five changes that make day-to-day play smoother.
