Elder Scrolls 6 Name and Teaser Officially Revealed by Bethesda

Bethesda has officially revealed the first teaser for its upcoming Elder Scrolls title in over eight years, and it finally puts a name to what is easily one of the most anticipated video games of all time.

The next Elder Scrolls game is officially called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, as confirmed by a November 3rd teaser posted on the Elder Scrolls X handle. Alongside revealing the name of Elder Scrolls 6, the studio also shared a short teaser built around the title reveal, just in time for the 40th anniversary of Bethesda Game Studios.

No gameplay footage was shown in the teaser.

The name fits the setting that fans have long been expecting. Bethesda’s original teaser, released in 2018, pointed toward Hammerfell, the desert province on the western edge of Tamriel. Sentinel is one of that region’s most recognizable cities, so the title goes in accordance with the lore.

Additionally, we can also see a quote from Yazar, Moth Priest of High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell, at the end of the teaser. The quote reads:

“The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.”

Unfortunately, anyone hoping to see a release date in this teaser will be disappointed. Bethesda has said it will be some time before more is shown, and no launch window has been given at the time of writing. That’s definitely rough news for avid fans of the series, considering it has been over eight years since Elder Scrolls 6 was last teased. Not to mention Skyrim, which turns 15 on November 11, has been carried by the game’s modding community ever since.

Despite no gameplay footage or release date being revealed just yet, The Elder Scrolls 6 now feels like a real project with a face and a name.
