Tyson “TenZ” Ngo has told the VALORANT world he is looking for a team. The former Sentinels star posted “LFT 👀” on X on October 21, two years after retiring from professional play. He hasn’t said which region, role or teams he has in mind.
The post took off fast. It passed 550,000 views and 20,000 likes in about 90 minutes.
No team has publicly responded yet. With the VCT 2027 off-season already underway, the timing could hardly be bigger.

What TenZ actually said
The whole post is two characters and an emoji: “LFT 👀”. In esports, LFT is how free agents tell teams they are open to offers.
TenZ gave no other details. That leaves three big questions open: which region, what role, and whether he wants a full-time VCT spot or something smaller.
It’s also possible the post points to a content or team-creator role rather than a pro roster. Still, it’s the clearest comeback signal he has given since retiring.
Is TenZ coming out of retirement?
Nothing is confirmed, but the signs have been building for months.
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| September 2024 | Retired from pro VALORANT after the 2024 season with Sentinels |
| May 2025 | Stood in for Cubert Academy at VCL North America Stage 2 Playoffs |
| February 2026 | Said “You literally never know” when asked about a return |
| August 2026 | Spotted in scrims with Sentinels. |
| October 2026 | Named to VCT’s “Team Omega” showmatch line-up |
| October 21, 2026 | Posts “LFT 👀” on X |
The Cubert Academy run in May 2025 showed he could still compete. He played as a stand-in controller for Sentinels’ academy roster and streamed his own point of view on Twitch and YouTube.
Which teams could sign TenZ?
TenZ is currently an influencer for T1, but that’s a content role, not a player contract. He has no team ties that would block a move.
Sentinels is the obvious name. TenZ won two Masters titles there, and he was seen scrimming with the team in August.
Sentinels are also active right now. CEO Rob Moore posted on October 21 that Cloud9’s Oxy had started trials with the team. Oxy jokingly replied that with TenZ back, everyone could “call it a day”.
Beyond Sentinels, any Americas team rebuilding for 2027 would want the attention TenZ brings. Our full list of VCT 2027-2028 partner teams shows who is in the league next year.
Why this matters for VCT 2027
TenZ is one of the most watched players VALORANT has ever had. He has more than 1 million followers on X, and his return would likely pull viewers back to VCT Americas.
The off-season is already busy. Evil Geniuses is shutting down on November 2, and Global Esports has quit VALORANT weeks after winning its first VCT Pacific title.
Americas teams also had a strong 2026. All four teams from the region made the playoffs at VALORANT Champions 2026, so any spot TenZ takes would be a competitive one.
TenZ’s career at a glance
- 2019: Joined Cloud9 in CS:GO
- April 2020: Became Cloud9’s first VALORANT pro
- 2021: Joined Sentinels and won Masters Reykjavík as grand final MVP
- 2024: Won Masters Madrid with Sentinels
- September 2024: Retired to focus on content creation
What happens next
TenZ’s post is the start, not the answer. The next signs to watch are team announcements, trial reports and whether TenZ explains what he is looking for.
VCT 2027 rosters lock in over the coming weeks. We’ll update this story when a team confirms talks or TenZ shares more.
