PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2020 – Teams, Schedule & much more

PUBG Mobile Global Championship is starting from 24th November. This event is the biggest PUBG Mobile tournament till date.

PUBG Mobile esports has finally announced the roadmap for the most awaited PUBG Mobile tournament of the year. PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2020 will be the pinnacle of PUBGM Esports where teams from around the world, including famed Chinese region, will battle it out to get the bragging rights and a huge chunk of $2M prize pool.

The official Twitter handle of PUBG Mobile Esports released the entire roadmap for this event with detailed dates, teams and prize pool format. The tournament will commence on 24th November and will for almost a complete month to end on 20th December. This entire event is almost similar to the earlier PUBG Mobile World League, but with more teams and larger stakes.

Schedule:

The schedule for League stages is out and this stage is exactly similar to the PMWL. A total of 24 teams are drawn into three groups and they will battle out for two Weekdays to get a chance at qualifying for the Super Weekend. For those whoa re not familiar with this format, Weekdays will see all the teams competing against each other and the final top 16 teams will qualify for the Super Weekend.

This time, Friday is included into Super Weekend stages and the top 16 teams for weekdays will fight get a chance to participate for that week’s Super Weekend.

This League stage will run for four weeks and hence, each team will have four chances to make it to the top 16 and gather the essential points.

Also, it is important to note that only the points earnt during Super Weekend Stage will be considered into the final calculation and hence no teams can afford to skip even a single weekend.

Two teams are yet to be decided and one of the slots is reserved for an invited team. The struggle is going to be fierce for many well-known teams in the list and with the addition of Chinese powerhouses like 4AM and XQF, the existing champions BTR can topple from their seat. The invited slot can also go to an Indian team if the PUBG Mobile gets unbanned in India and chances of this happening are very strong.

Prize pool

The total prize pool for only the League stages is going to be $769,000 and the players the a huge chunk of this prize money is rewarded for the most consistent team in this tournament. The prize distribution is as follows:
