No more PS5 Pre orders coming in India

After the disastrous pre-order event on 12th January, Sony has decided to not offer anymore pre-orders in India before the official launch on 2nd February. Sony has retracted their previous statement where they asked fans to “stay in touch with retailers for the next round of pre-orders”.

Sony released a new statement via Digit today informing about their decision to not offer pre-orders anymore. The Statement reads, “We are not planning pre-order for PS5 before 2nd February. Please stay in touch with retailers for future pre-order updates.”

Looks like our previous assumptions of lower than expected stock allotment for India and some partner stores accidentally taking excess order has caused Sony a headache and the brand finally decided to flip the switch and wait for the launch day.

It is believed that Sony had only allotted 4000-5000 units for sale in India and further the brand is having trouble to ship in more units in India before the official launch.

Currently, Sony is facing unprecedented demand for the new console and is having trouble to fulfil orders worldwide. We believe Sony’s decision to finally come out with a statement informing fans to wait for launch day to grab their shiny new console is better than the disappointment fans will meet daily after refreshing partner sites daily in hopes to Pre-order the console.
