Cyberpunk Edgerunners’ Lucy is finally coming to Fortnite, CD Projekt Red has confirmed.
In a recent teaser posted on the official Cyberpunk Edgerunners X account, fans were hinted at Lucy’s addition to Fortnite, with an X post teasing that a netrunner had already slipped past Fortnite’s “Override security”.
Minutes later, a follow-up trailer confirmed that Lucy is indeed joining the game, bringing her hacker aesthetic to Chapter 7 Season 4.
“Seriously need to upgrade your Override security, Fortnite,” the X post reads. “Our netrunner told us getting past it was child’s play. She’s available for a consult if you’d like to upgrade. See you soon?”
An exact release date for the Lucy Cyberpunk Edgerunners Fortnite skin has not been confirmed as of yet, but the pieces are starting to line up.
Leaked patch schedules point to Fortnite’s next major update landing September 17, and since the teaser promised Lucy “soon,” that date is the current best guess among dataminers.
Till the devs make the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Lucy Fortnite Release Date official, it’s best to take these speculations with a grain of salt.
Weapons are where this crossover gets more interesting. Rebecca’s Guns, the dual-wielded firearms tied to her character in the anime, are confirmed as an incoming Mythic. Leaked numbers suggest a standard version dealing 8 damage at common-to-epic rarity, and the Mythic dealing 9. It’s expected to have a 40-round magazine and reload times around 1.3 to 1.6 seconds.
An Exotic variant is also said to be in testing, which reportedly fuses an SMG and assault rifle into one weapon sharing medium ammo, with SMG rounds that ricochet up to twice and rifle rounds that detonate on impact. Note that, again, none of this is final, so expect some numbers to shift before launch.
There’s also a smaller Easter egg buried in the trailer that shows a hacking sequence that ends with an Admin Panel code, “NOCTURNEOP55N1,” flashing onscreen. It’s inactive right now, and most signs point to it staying that way until the Edgerunners content actually goes live.
