VCT Masters Tokyo: Meet the Qualified Teams Making Their Mark

VCT Masters Tokyo

Masters Tokyo is set to be the next big event in the history of VCT after the LOCK//IN. The tournament will be played before the Champions.

As we saw it happen at LOCK//IN, the teams competing at Masters Tokyo will be helping their region with an additional Champions slot at the Last Chance Qualifier. However, the top three EMEA teams will qualify for the Champions with those from Americas and Asia-Pacific having already qualified.

However, we do know that 12 teams will play in Masters Tokyo: four from EMEA, three from the Americas, three from the Pacific, and two from China.

The VCT Masters Tokyo will commence from June 11 till the 25th and they will be held in the eastern suburb of Tokyo, in Chiba. 12 teams will be contesting for the trophy with 10 to be determined on the basis of their regional performances while the rest two to be representing China.

As the victorious VCT LOCK//IN region, EMEA will be granted an additional entry to the VCT Masters Tokyo tournament. Compared to the Asia-Pacific and the Americas regions, it will send four teams to Japan.

Riot Games announced that the two Chinese teams for Tokyo were decided at the conclusion of the first act of the FGC VALORANT Invitational 2023. Attacking Soul Esports, the winners, and EDward Gaming, the runners-up, will both travel to the VCT Masters in Tokyo.

Attacking Soul Esports, led by ex-EDG star Qu ‘Life’ Donghao, will be making their debut at the VCT Masters. EDG competed in both Valorant Champions 2022 and VCT LOCK//IN, pushing North American powerhouses 100 Thieves to a best-of-three series across all three maps in the latter.
