ESL One Los Angeles DotA 2 Major canceled

After travel restrictions and subsequent VISA rules alteration, Valve and ESL have jointly decided to call off the DotA 2 Major scheduled at Los Angeles this year.

The move comes in after the worldwide outage of a global health emergency COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization yesterday. President Trump suspended all flying from Europe to the U.S., making it worse for the organizers.

ESL is also prioritizing to get everyone who purchased tickets for their refund.

ā€œWeā€™re currently working with the venue and ticketing provider to refund tickets as soon as possible,ā€ ESLĀ said. ā€œIf you purchased a ticket, you should be receiving email communication in the coming days. We are deeply saddened that we wonā€™t be able to bring you the event you deserved.ā€

The tweet, however, emphasizes the event being postponed but it seems canceled for now with no positive future as the virus spread hadn’t been under control for most of Europe.

Prior to this, IEM Katowice saw the gathering licensing been revoked by the European authorities to curb the spread. ESL Pro League, on the other hand, was moved to online qualifiers from an ESL Studio in Europe after the virus outbreak in the region.
