PGL Esports have revealed the Challengers Stage matchups starting in less than a week from today which will determine the top 8 teams who will lock in their berth towards the group stage main event, joining the new eight legends who made their way through their respective RMR (Regional Major Rankings) events.
To our surprise, a plethora of S-tier teams would now fight for one of the 8 legends spots at the PGL Antwerp CSGO Major with some familiar faces to lock horns at the Challengers Stage.
G2 Esports, Astralis, and Team Liquid will feature in the upcoming Challengers Stage event while underdogs like Bad News Eagles, IHC Esports, and Eternal Fire will look to further extend their dominance post their RMR turnarounds.
On Stream A, a new post-PGL Stockholm Major 2022 look, Team Vitality will take on a revamped Complexity gaming squad, this time led by Johnny ‘JT’ Theodosiou while Aleksi ‘Aleksib’ Virolainen’s G2 Esports will take on Team Liquid with both the teams shuffling their sniper roles with fresh faces, Ilya ‘m0NESY’ Osipov and Josh ‘oSee’ Ohm respectively.
Stream B would see some old faces compete under the banner of Eternal Fire with Özgür ‘woxic’ Eker to lead the latter further into the tournament. Imperial’s Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and Fernando ‘fer’ Alvarenga who had been away from the scene post their infamous MIBR exit are among the heavy favorites to qualify ahead of the Legends Stage.
PGL Antwerp Major 2022’s Challengers Stage will be played from May 9-12, locking in teams for the Legends Stage of the major.
