CSGO pro Dosia gets banned from Twitch

The 32-year-old pro and streamer received a temporary ban from Twitch for some offensive words he said on stream.

Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov is a renowned pro in the CSGO scene and also a streamer on Twitch. The Twitch partner received a temporary ban on the platform which is set to last about a week due to some offensive words he said during his Livestream.

While it’s not rare for Dosia to shoot out occasional insults mixed with some Russian profanities while playing, the ban might be the result of Twitch implementing stricter measures on their platform regarding this sort of remarks.

He was seen saying the word “pidor” during one of his streams which translates to “gay” or “homosexual”.  This insult may have led to the ban being imposed in such a short span of time since it can be seen as a homophobic word.

Dosia himself acknowledged his ban on Twitter although he mentioned that he was in a state of “full shock.” Although, he didn’t clarify in his tweet as to why he received the temporary ban.

After implementing stricter measures to curb harassment and toxicity on their streaming platform, Twitch has gone on a banning spree and banned several streamers from it, some of whom are extremely popular among fans of their respective games.

While these measures from Twitch have been met by resentment from many people in the community who’re upset at their loved streamers getting banned, a good number of viewers are also saying that it’ll help improve the gaming community in the long run by reducing toxicity in the platform and making Twitch a healthier and more family-friendly service overall.
