Wildcard Shines on Unfamiliar Terrain

Following their dream run in the RMR, Wildcard has exceeded expectations to beat Fnatic on the opening day of Perfect World CS2 Major.

  1. Wildcard removed Anubis
  2. Wildcard removed Vertigo
  3. fnatic removed Dust2
  4. fnatic removed Inferno
  5. fnatic removed Nuke
  6. Wildcard removed Ancient
  7. Mirage was left over

Map 1: Mirage; Winner: Wildcard; Score: 13-11

Mirage was a risky pick given Wildcard had no prior experience of the map on LAN, but to everyone’s surprise, they were able to hold themselves despite getting off to a poor start. The first half saw Fnatic pull 7 rounds while Wildcard only managed 5 but the story soon changed once we got to the second half.

The second half had Fnatic make their way to an 11-8 scoreline and were on the verge of running away from the map when Wildcard found their footing and managed to put together a string of rounds to come back from the deficit and win the game with a 13-11 scoreline.

Despite blamef’s heroics, Sonic and JBa performed exceptionally for their side to pull the biggest upset given majority had Wildcards on their 0-3 Pick’Ems.
