Map 1: Mirage; Pick: Liquid; Winner: Liquid

2-0 start for the Australian side, put Liquid on a deficit before the latter won their first gun round. FlyQuest bulldozed Liquid in the first half, and their defense proved to be too strong for Liquid to break through. Winning 5 rounds in a row, FlyQuest concluded the half with a dominant 10-2 scoreline. Liquid returned the favour, pulling off an impressive defense to replicate FlyQuest’s scoreline from the previous half, and pushed the game to overtime. From the clutches of defeat, Liquid managed to continue the momentum to OT and won two rounds in a row in the second half of OT, closing an impressive comeback from Liquid.

Map 2: Train; Pick: FlyQuest; Winner: Liquid

Another 2-0 start for FQ was quickly matched by Liquid, who went on to put in a much better first half compared to Mirage. FQ managed to win two more rounds as Liquid’s defense pulled in 8. The offense was far from impressive by Liquid, but it managed to get the job done as the Australian side lost rounds frequently enough for the NA side to close the map and the series. From having a rough start to posting a 1.46 IR, ELiGE managed to pull in 18 kills, giving them the edge over a tricky side.

FlyQuest has been a solid team. However, they have yet to deliver something convincing that convinces fans they can be strong contenders and perform well in events. As things stand, they will have two more chances to make it through, but only time can tell if they will be at the playoffs.
