Map 1: Mirage; Pick: Heroic; Winner: Heroic

A quick exchange of rounds to start the map, Heroic pulled in the momentum to gain some stability early on, which led to a heavily one-sided half where they roped in 9 rounds compared to 3 from Aurora before switching sides. Similar opening to the second half, but Heroic continued their momentum, leading to Heroic closing the first map with a heavily one-sided scoreline. Alkaren delivered 19 kills and 1.7 IR to shock Aurora into going down early.

Map 2: Inferno; Pick: Aurora; Winner: Heroic

Having faced a crushing defeat on Mirage, Inferno kicked off on a similar note for the Turks, with Heroic winning 7 rounds straight before they lost one. Aurora cut the lead in half, winning 4 rounds before Aurora lost the final round of the half to switch sides with an 8-4 scoreline favouring Heroic. Heroic extended the lead to ten rounds before Aurora started mounting a comeback in their defense, but having almost levelled the scoreline, they dropped the ball, leading to Heroic stealing a win at the last moment. 21 kills from LNZ pulled Heroic out of a difficult position to book their place in the playoffs.

Aruroa’s woes continue after losing out on a game that could have put them through. It is difficult to assume that, having qualified earlier, they would have had the extra time to practice and prepare for. Aurora was the favourite going into the event, but to lose at this point is anything but expected.
