Forsaken’s 5-Year-Ban is Coming To an End

0

In October 2018, former Indian CSGO pro Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat found himself hitting the headlines of esports for all the wrong reasons when the 22-year-old was caught cheating red-handed during the finals of eXTREMESLAND Asia.

He managed to hide his hacks successfully throughout the event till the tournament officials took it upon themselves to inspect his PC. Forsaken was swift to try and delete the suspicious files in his PC, but to no avail as subsequent investigations revealed that he was cheating in the tournament.

The news of this incident spread like wildfire throughout the world of esports and became known as the infamous ‘word.exe’ cheating incident of Forsaken. For the uninitiated, ‘word.exe’ was the name of the cheat that Forsaken was using to get an unfair advantage over his opponents in the tournament – Here’s what it looked like.

Following the incident, he and his former team were disqualified from the tournament. Shortly afterward, OpTic India also proceeded to disband its entire Indian CSGO roster. OpTic CEO Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez responded to the incident, saying, “If we were in Mexico, I’d approach him in a f**king different way in a situation like that.”

A series of further investigations revealed that this wasn’t the first time that Forsaken had used cheats in an official tournament. The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) found evidence that Forsaken also used his ‘word.exe’ cheats to land a first-place finish in the ESL India Premiership Fall Finale that took place in September of the same year.

Consequently, he received a five-year ESIC ban from all esports-related activities, in addition to a VAC ban.

Interestingly, Forsaken’s five-year ban is ending this week, leaving the entire esports community in suspense: will he choose to return to competitive CSGO, or will he opt to stay away from it for good?

Twitch CEO’s Partnership Program Application Gets Rejected

0

TwitchCon 2023, held in Las Vegas, was a grand affair with thousands of fans and streamers in attendance. Dan Clancy, the CEO of Twitch, was present to unveil several new changes to the platform. Among the most significant was the allowance for streamers to broadcast on multiple platforms simultaneously.

While Clancy was prepared to make several announcements, one he likely hadn’t anticipated was his own rejection from Twitch’s partnership program. Sharing his experience on Twitter, Clancy revealed that his application to become a partnered streamer was denied. His tweet read, “For anyone that got denied being a partner from Twitch don’t feel so bad. Just got my Partner application denied. Did not tell anyone I was applying.”

Reasons Behind the Denial

The email from Twitch to Clancy highlighted the inconsistency in his viewership as the primary reason for the rejection. It stated, “Your recent viewership has been fluctuating significantly, and we are looking for consistency rather than occasional spikes in viewership.”

Despite his demanding role as CEO, Clancy often finds time to stream. His sessions are not just about gameplay but also provide insights into the platform, answering viewer queries about the broadcasting service. Moreover, fans have been pleasantly surprised by Clancy’s musical prowess, showcasing his skills with various instruments.

Global Esports CEO Explains Why the Organization Transferred Monyet to Paper Rex

0

In a bid to rebuild its roster for the Valorant 2024 season, Global Esports made a few changes to the roster, including transferring its high-performing player Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha to Paper Rex. Global Esports’ CEO, Rushindra Sinha, recently shed light on the organization’s decision to part ways with the talented player Monyet and the intricacies that led to this significant move. Sinha’s detailed explanation offers valuable insights into the thought process behind the decision and the broader goals of Global Esports.

Global Esports CEO Reveals that Transferring Monyet to Paper Rex Was a “Win-Win” Situation For Everyone

In a recent livestream, a viewer asked Global Esports’ CEO Rushindra Sinha why the organization transferred Monyet to Paper Rex. Responding to this, Sinha explained why the organization took the decision. The decision to transfer Monyet to the Valorant Pacific League Franchise team, Paper Rex, was not a decision made in haste or driven by a desire to sever ties with the young talent. Sinha emphasized that it was part of a larger strategy to foster growth, both for Monyet and for Global Esports as an organization.

Sinha clarified that, initially, the plan was to build a team centered around Monyet. “We wanted to build a team around Monyet, but the more we planned around him, the more we realized that it wouldn’t be feasible based on what we had in mind, what the goals and trajectory was for Global Esports,” he said.

Sinha Reveals Global Esports Received Multiple Offers to Buy-Out Monyet

Sinha added that while the organization was rebuilding their Valorant roster, it received multiple offers from different organizations to buy-out Monyet. Among these offers, Paper Rex’s offer stood out. Global Esports’ close relationship with Paper Rex played a significant role in shaping the outcome. “We had this discussion with the guys at Paper Rex to plan what we could potentially do together, and the thing that made the most sense was that they take our most firecracker player and give us the most experience player, their IGL ( in-game leader), so that we can build on experience for our team while they get the fire power that they needed to win and continue doing what they’re doing because they were losing a lot of firepower,” he explained.

The resulting deal, which saw Monyet join Paper Rex, was termed as a “win-win” situation by Sinha. Monyet got the opportunity to play with his existing friends and join a team where he could thrive, while Global Esports acquired an experienced IGL to bolster their team’s experience. He also added that Paper Rex compensated fairly for Monyet’s buy-out.

Sinha added that instead of taking a purely selfish route, the organization chose a path that allowed many individuals, including Monyet, Paper Rex, and their player Benedict “Benkai” Tan, to prosper.

Sinha Vows to Bring Monyet Back to Global Esports

While Monyet’s departure from Global Esports was undoubtedly a significant move, Sinha made it clear that it wasn’t a permanent farewell. He reassured fans and supporters that they had every intention of welcoming Monyet back into the fold in the future. “It might not be next season, it might not be the season after that, but Monyet will return to GE one day,” he said.

S1mple Ignores Valve’s DM Regarding CS2 Break

s1mple’s decision to take a hiatus from CS2 was not taken lightly. As a stalwart of the Counter-Strike series, his move to step back was bound to create waves. Seeking clarity and perhaps some form of support, s1mple reached out to Valve, the game’s developer. However, the silence from Valve’s end has been deafening.

The esports community, especially dedicated CS2 fans, have rallied behind s1mple. Social media platforms are abuzz with speculation, support, and a fair share of criticism aimed at Valve. Many believe that a player of s1mple’s stature deserves at least an acknowledgment, if not a detailed response.

They write me on Twitter and they ask me ‘What are the issues?’ You know what I did? I never answered them back. How can you ask me ‘What’s the issue?’ if the fu**ing whole internet, whole Twitter writing about issues?

S1mple

This isn’t the first time Valve has been under scrutiny for its communication practices. The company, while known for its groundbreaking games, has often been critiqued for its lack of transparency and communication with both players and the larger gaming community. s1mple’s situation seems to be another chapter in this ongoing narrative.

While the wait for Valve’s response continues, s1mple’s future in CS2 remains a topic of intense discussion. Will he return to the game that made him a household name, or will this silence push him towards exploring new horizons? Only time will tell.

FaZe Clan to Join Forces with GameSquare

0

GameSquare’s decision to acquire FaZe Clan is a testament to the latter’s influence and reach in the gaming and lifestyle sectors. FaZe Clan, which went public in July 2022, garnered significant media attention, highlighting its valuation of over a billion dollars. However, the subsequent decline in its stock value, reaching a low of around 18 US cents, set the stage for this merger.

Post-acquisition, the leadership dynamics are set to undergo a significant shift. FaZe Clan’s founders will return to helm the brand, ensuring its authenticity remains intact. Richard ‘FaZe Banks’ Bengston is slated to take over as the CEO, with Thomas ‘FaZe Temperrr’ Oliveira and Yousef ‘FaZe Apex’ stepping in as President and COO, respectively.

The merger is not just about acquisition but integration. With FaZe Clan’s creators, esports brands, and personnel joining GameSquare’s extensive portfolio, which includes entities like Code Red, Complexity Gaming, Stream Hatchet, and Fourth Frame Studios, the combined entity is poised to become one of the largest platforms connected to esports, gaming, and youth culture globally.

While the merger promises a brighter future, it also brings its set of challenges. FaZe Clan’s recent financial challenges will be a significant aspect for GameSquare to address. The esports industry will keenly watch the strategies GameSquare adopts to optimize FaZe Clan’s operations, ensuring profitability while maintaining the brand’s essence.

How to Find Zombie Road Signs in Fortnite?

0

Fortnite is no stranger to thematic events, especially around Halloween. These zombie road signs could be a precursor to an upcoming event, possibly hinting at a zombie invasion or a new game mode centered around the undead.

Players have reported spotting these enigmatic signs in various parts of the map. From the outskirts of popular landing spots to more secluded areas, these signs seem to be everywhere. Their widespread placement suggests that the impending event if there is one, could be map-wide.

How to Find Zombie Road Signs in Fortnite?

Long-time players might recall Fortnite’s earlier seasons, where zombies, termed “Cube Monsters,” played a significant role. Could these signs be indicating a return of these creatures? Or perhaps a revamped version of them?

While the signs’ primary purpose might be to tease upcoming content, they could also influence gameplay. Players might choose to avoid areas with these signs, fearing an ambush or other in-game consequences. On the other hand, some might be drawn to these zones, hoping to uncover clues or easter eggs.

The Fortnite community is abuzz with theories. Some believe these signs are merely decorative, while others are convinced they’re a harbinger of significant changes. Forums, social media platforms, and gaming channels are filled with discussions, speculations, and predictions about what these signs might mean.

Campfire Locations in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4

0

Campfires in Fortnite are more than just decorative elements; they serve a crucial role in gameplay. These seemingly insignificant features can be game-changers, offering players a lifeline in critical moments.

Campfires, though subtle in their presence, are invaluable to players. When ignited, they rejuvenate a player’s health to its peak. Interestingly, these campfires also mend the hit points of vehicles, allowing players to refurbish a damaged vehicle rather than discard it.

The functionality of campfires varies between the Zero Build and OG Build modes. In Zero Build, a campfire has a one-time use. However, in OG Build mode, players can utilize them repeatedly, as long as they have sufficient wood.

Campfire Locations in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 has scattered campfires across its expansive map:

  • Grass, Jungle, and Japanese Biomes: A whopping 39 campfires are dispersed in these biomes. Their strategic placement, especially near landmarks, aids players in quick health recovery.
  • Medieval Biome: This biome houses 10 campfires. Though they are more spread out compared to other biomes, their visibility is not compromised.
  • Ice/Snow Biome: This biome boasts 21 campfires. Despite the vast icy landscape, these campfires are relatively accessible.

While campfires are abundant, players should exercise caution. It’s advisable to refrain from using them in Named Locations unless critically low on health, as adversaries might set up traps.

Valorant’s New Agent Iso Sparks Jujutsu Kaisen Comparisons Among Fans

0

Valorant’s latest agent Iso is here and fans can’t hold their horses to try out the latest duelist, the only duelist to grace the meadows of Valorant in a long time since Neon. As crazy as his preview looks, fans were quick to point out similarities between the new agent and Jujutsu Kaisen protagonist Satoru Gojo.

Jujutsu Kaisen boasts one of the biggest fandoms in the world and Gojo has been one of the most popular characters in the history of animes. His uniqueness makes it easy to pick him up from a crowd and being a likeable character, his similarities with Valorant’s Iso has given fans a new reason to get excited.

Why do fans think Iso is based on Satoru Gojo?

Anyone familiar with Iso and Gojo will quickly point out the recognisable purple aura that surrounds both characters besides the fact both hail from Asian ethnicity. One key similarity is their ability. Iso’s Ultimate ability resembles Gojo’s Domain Expansion beyond a doubt and both abilities are executed in the same fashion which makes it hard to tell the two apart. In the manga, Gojo boasts something called Infinity which essentially protects him from physical attacks as is the case with Iso who can become bulletproof.

While there are plenty of comparable points between the two characters, it would be a far-fetched statement to say Iso is based on Satoru Gojo. While the resemblance is uncanny, it will be safe to assume that the character designers drew some inspiration from the anime when Iso was in the works.

Fans often crave JJK crossovers with their favourite game and this is as close to one that Valorant players can get at the moment.
