Fortnite Mobile relaunch? Here are the iOS and Android Release Details

In August, Fortnite Mobile made its comeback on iOS and Android platforms. After a lengthy legal dispute and an even longer hiatus, the game was finally spotted on the App Store and Google Play Store once more. However, this was limited to Europe. Players in other regions were still unable to access the game on their mobile devices without significant workarounds.

For the United States, arguably the second-largest market for Fortnite, significant news has just emerged regarding the mobile game’s status.

Fortnite will mostly return to Android in 2025

Fortnite Mobile

Fortnite Mobile is set to return to devices in the United States only in the near future. Regrettably, this opportunity is only available on Android devices. Reports indicate the Google Play Store is expected to restore the game by 2025. This information comes from leak source ShiinaBR. While no definitive details were provided about iOS, it is anticipated that iOS will eventually follow suit. The expectation is that the game’s revival on the Google Play Store will last for at least two years, possibly longer.

Since August 2020, Fortnite has been absent from iOS mobile devices. It has been over four years since players in the United States—following Europe’s recent victory in this struggle—have been able to enjoy Epic Games’ titles on their iPhones. It was once a significant segment for gamers, but unfortunately, it has been overshadowed by the feud between Apple and Epic Games.

In 2020, Epic took legal action against Apple concerning their in-app purchase practices. Allegedly, Apple’s method absorbed a portion of the revenue that would typically go to Epic, whose game is free-to-play.

The two parties battled in court, with the legal proceedings mostly siding with Epic. They succeeded in prompting Apple to reevaluate their in-app purchasing policies, marking a victory for Epic. However, the outcome resulted in Fortnite being taken off all iOS devices, and it has yet to return. That may change very soon.

Ubisoft Under Fire: Allegations of User Data Sharing with Meta

0

New problems have cropped up at Ubisoft with the firm facing litigation for allegedly releasing user information and frequent fluctuations of their stock.

The lawsuit, filed by Alex Rajjoub and Trevor Lakes via the Peiffer Wolf law firm in California’s Northern District, said that Ubisoft shared their information with Meta.

In a related note, Endymion, a YouTuber also followed up on this, citing the fact that Ubisoft has committed $650M to $800M into a game called Skull and Bones. He said that this information comes from an inside source at Ubisoft. Yet, these allegations stay as gossip at the moment, where nothing has been proven.

As for Ubisoft’s current problem with low sales, its monetization director, Stevy Chassard, said in a post on LinkedIn that has since been deleted: “We are in a difficult time in the gaming industry today.” Regarding the second question, he said he was saddened that some gamers out there have malice intents towards the company. Chassard also focuses on how “employees in the industry” express the same views as this also depletes morale among other employees.

Ubisoft meta

However, the major highlight of this announcement is the fact that Ubisoft has delayed its next big title Assassin’s Creed Shadow to February of the next year, 2025. Setting it up this way makes it a clear rival to PlayStation’s upcoming game, Ghost of Yotei. According to this, Ubisoft’s chief executive said “There is more than enough space for exceptionally high-quality game and both these titles can do very well.”

As for now, one thing’s for sure Ubisoft certainly cannot catch a break. What do you think about their next planned release: Assassins Creed Shadow? A hit or a hit on the coffin’s nail for Ubisoft?

Heroic Stun Vitality to to Reach IEM Rio Semi-finals

Heroic has stunned everyone, beating Vitality in the most dominant fashion that will see them book a place in the Semi-Finals at the cost of one of the best teams in the world. Veto

  • HEROIC removed Inferno
  • Vitality removed Ancient
  • HEROIC picked Mirage
  • Vitality picked Anubis
  • HEROIC removed Vertigo
  • Vitality removed Dust2
  • Nuke was left over

Map 1: Mirage; Pick: Heroic; Winner: Heroic

Vitality came into the tournament looking to revive their form from earlier this year and it was quite evident given the 10-2 half. It looked like they were running away with the series but the second half had something completely unexpected in store for them.

Heroic in their defense put up a show that would see them post the best half of their CS2 era. Not only did they manage to come back, they did it in a very dominant fashion against one of the very best teams in the world.

sjuush and TeSeS inspired the highly ambitious comeback to win the map with a 13-11 scoreline.

Map 2: Anubis; Pick: Vitality; Winner: Heroic

Heroic converted a force buy after losing the pistol round, which they used to build an insurmountable lead of 8-4. Heroic on the offense ran all over Vitality which no one saw coming as they put themselves in prime position to progress further in the tournament.

Once again a pistol round victory from Vitality met with a force buy conversion in the following round which saw Heroic use to put a streak to win the map with a one-sided 13-5 scoreline.

With 21 kills to his name, TeSeS showed the world his true self once again in CS2 after falling out of favor with the top teams.

With this loss, Vitality will have to play in the quarter-finals of IEM Rio to reach the semi-finals. This match holds the potential to be one of the biggest upsets of 2024 which might change the dynamics of the CS2 landscape walking into the major.
