0

Popular rapper Soulja Boy is the latest celebrity to be taking heavy interest in the Esports scene, after he announced plans to form an organisation to compete on various fronts, including popular games like Fortnite, CSGO, Overwatch and Call of Duty.

Speaking to TMZ, he said: “We’re going to be finding talent, hiring talent. I’m going to put together a team for Fortnite, put together a team for Call of Duty, put together a team for Overwatch, Counter-Strike, all of that.”

He also credits popular Fortnite streamer and good friend Ninja as his mentor as he enters into an uncharted territory, and also hopes to sign him from Luminosity, but admits that โ€œit’s going to cost me a lot to hire Ninja to play for me.”

Soulja Boy had made the video game headlines earlier this month when he announced the SouljaGame Consule, an emulator that will allow you to play classic games ranging from classic PlayStation titles to classic Nintendo titles. He is best known for tracks like Crank That and Kiss Me Thru The Phone.

FaZe Bench Karrigan as they look for replacements

2

FaZe Clan have benched Finn “karrigan” Andersen as they look to replace him after a string of poor performances.

The decision, although out of the blue, was not completely unexpected after Niko took over the in game leading a few months ago. There has been no name that has been suggested to replace the Dane, but it will be expected that his replacement will br an IGL as well.

Karrigan, in his time, won 7 Major trophies, the latest being EPICENTRE 2018 and IEM Sydney, and although largely successful, a lack of Major Title may prove to dent his legacy as one of the better rosters of CSGO.

Astralis sweep Na’Vi to win BLAST Pro Series Lisbon

0

Astralis are champions once again in the international CS:GO scene, and this time around, their tournament win comes at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon.

The Danish side breezed through the $250,000 event, defeating FaZe, Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and MIBR in the process. Astralis went 5-0 in the round robin group stage matches, which put them up against Natus Vincere in the grand finals of the two-day event.

In the grand finals, Na’Vi only stole map one Overpass (16-7) from Astralis, thanks to a strong T side that put them ahead early on. The latter two maps of the seriesโ€”Cache (16-9) and Dust 2 (16-4) saw Na’Vi fight hard to fend off the Danish aggression on all fronts. But in the end, Astralis quelled their heroic efforts. Every single Dane popped off with clutches and multikills, and surprisingly, Emil “Magisk” Reif had a relatively quiet series.

Astralisโ€™ championship win at Blast Pro Series Lisbon undoubtedly solidifies them as the best CS:GO team in the world in 2018. It was their 10th successful title run of the year, after they won EPL Season Eight, DreamHack Masters Marseille, the EPL Season Seven Finals, the ECS Season Five Finals, the 2018 ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier, the FACEIT London Major, BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen, IEM Chicago, and recently, the ECS Season Six Finals.

Are Astralis the greatest of all time? That conversation will be addressed next year, and especially at the upcoming IEM Katowice Major, where Astralis will be the defending Valve Major champions.

Virtus.pro Disbands CSGO Lineup until Further Notice

3

Virtus.pro in a Twitter post announced that they have disbanded their current CSGO lineup after a string of poor results. They also stated that the next steps for the organisation would be revealed at the end of the year.

Virtus.pro General manager Roman Dvoryankin said

After London Major we were quite optimistic about the potential of the current lineup. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The long term strategy for us is to build a competitive team around young players and we will follow it while making decisions. Iโ€™d like to ask our fans to be supportive in the next couple of weeks

The Polish squad has had a poor showing ever since reaching the finals of the ELEAGUE Major in 2017, and have been in a downward spiral this year, after failing to qualify for the ESL Pro League, Epicentre 2018 and finishing 5th in the Blast Pro Series: Istanbul.

This means that they have forfeited from the Star Series: i-League Season 7 Europe Qualifier set to take place tomorrow, as thr players get to reflect on their next steps as active players.

The VP core of SnaX, Pashabiceps, TaZ, Neo and byali was famous for being the longest time an active lineup remained unchanged, and even signed 5 year deals in December 2016. Things took an ugly turn when TaZ was benched in early 2018 and their disastrous form continued leading to this day of complete disbandment.

The worldโ€™s first AI powered Esport coach Omnicoach is a global success

0

Hundreds of Overwatch gamers were waiting for the launch of the worldโ€™s first AI coach system, from which the first hundred packages were sold within 26 hours in a special pre-sale offer.

Besides providing statistics, the unique coaching software also offers a complex training package for both casual and competitive gamers, giving them the opportunity to improve, for less than a real e-sport coach would cost. The international sale starts on 7th December, the developers are expecting the highest demand from the USA, Canada, Germany, and France.

The biggest demand for the pre-sales coaching packages came from the United States, Canada and Great Britain.

From December, Omnicoach will be available worldwide, helping the improvement of casual and competitive gamers in a unique and practical way. โ€Our relationship with the first hundred Omnicoach users was very intense.

After the success of the first coaching packages and the initial user feedbacks, the Omnicoach team has decided to add additional features to improve the service for the international public launch. A recently released hero Ashe has been added to the coaching engine.

Also, the development of a navigation panel is in progress, which will contain all the necessary information of a gameplay, presented in a very practical and compact way.

The panel will enable users to review the key information of their VODs in the blink of an eye. The Omnicoach engine has more than 2000 individual, situation-specific tips. Exclusively for the launch we increased the pool of tips with an extra 400 and will continue to add new tips and exercises on a daily basisโ€ said Alienteavend, Lead Overwatch Coach of Omnicoach.

The first hundred users came from 13 different countries. โ€We expect that the biggest number of users will come from countries that are traditionally strong in e-sports such as the USA or Germany.

From the early access launch in November, it became clear that the intention to improve is more and more popular in many countries. Our software provides a great opportunity for gamers, since it helps boost strategic thinking, encourages faster reactions and contributes to improving team play which is highly important in games like Overwatchโ€ said IronDan, Co-founder of Omnicoach.

The reliability of the system (statistics, tips, and exercises) is ensured by the two-pillar analytical environment of Omnicoach: the software combines traditional image recognition with ongoing learning, therefore it is able to give very detailed personal suggestions. The benefits of the software are listed on the demo website.

The international sales of Omnicoach is starting from 7th December. As for the future, the team is planning to expand the concept of the AI coaching for other popular games.

Omnicoach will be launching 3 types of coaching packages: 3, 5 or 10-video package.

  • 3-video package:          USD 5.79
  • 5-video package:          USD 8.79
  • 10-video package:        USD 14.79
