Virtus.pro Disbands CSGO Lineup until Further Notice

Virtus.pro in a Twitter post announced that they have disbanded their current CSGO lineup after a string of poor results. They also stated that the next steps for the organisation would be revealed at the end of the year.

Virtus.pro General manager Roman Dvoryankin said

After London Major we were quite optimistic about the potential of the current lineup. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The long term strategy for us is to build a competitive team around young players and we will follow it while making decisions. I’d like to ask our fans to be supportive in the next couple of weeks

The Polish squad has had a poor showing ever since reaching the finals of the ELEAGUE Major in 2017, and have been in a downward spiral this year, after failing to qualify for the ESL Pro League, Epicentre 2018 and finishing 5th in the Blast Pro Series: Istanbul.

This means that they have forfeited from the Star Series: i-League Season 7 Europe Qualifier set to take place tomorrow, as thr players get to reflect on their next steps as active players.

The VP core of SnaX, Pashabiceps, TaZ, Neo and byali was famous for being the longest time an active lineup remained unchanged, and even signed 5 year deals in December 2016. Things took an ugly turn when TaZ was benched in early 2018 and their disastrous form continued leading to this day of complete disbandment.
