Call Of Duty Mobile is coming to Android and iOS on 1st October

Probably the most awaited mobile game for this year, Call of Duty: Mobile is finally getting an official release on 1st October and will be available as a free to play game for both Android and iOS. Activision has partnered with Tencentโ€™s Timi studios and will bring all the familiar elements from the franchise to mobile devices while adding certain new elements that are common when it comes to mobile gaming.

The mobile version was teased back in March and pre registrations were opened. Call of Duty Mobile will feature a Battle Royale mode with 100 players on newly developed maps and since Tencent, the mind behind Player Unknownโ€™s Battleground is the name behind this game as well, we can expect some top notch Battle Royale gameplay establishing this game as a direct competitor of Fortnite and PUBG Mobile. Players will also be able to get their hands on classic Call of Duty maps like Nuketown, Crash, Hijacked, Crossfire, Standoff, Crash, and Killhouse among others. The weapons and characters will be inspired from hit franchisees, Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Talking about game modes, there will be a wide variety of modes to play including Free-For-All, Frontline, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Domination. Call of Dutyโ€™s franchise is known for thrilling story lines and unparalleled character developments and the mobile version will retain certain characters like Alex Mason, Thomas Merrick, and Simon โ€˜Ghost’ Riley.

Call of Duty is also known for its detailed weapon system which offers life like physics and audio quality and the same can be expected for the mobile version, giving the players a huge arsenal of weapons to choose from. There will also be an upgrade system with various weapon parameters like fire rate, damage, and more will also be available. Accessory items like grenades and will also be available. Players will also be able to choose between weapon skills to enhance the game play and here are a few announced skills: Purifier (flamethrower), War Machine (grenade launcher), Death Machine (minigun), Transform Shield (deformable shield), Sparrow (bow), and Tempest (electrical bolt rifle).

Tencent has developed an intricate control system for the game offering the players a choice between a Simple Mode with automatic firing at enemies, and Advanced Mode with manual firing and more fine-tuned controls such as weapon grip, hip firing, etc. Under the settings tab, players can tweak 17 sliders to tweak the sensitivity as per their preferences giving them complete control over their aim.

Call of Duty is often deemed as the perfect esports game hence we are excited to see how the mobile esports scene shifts with the official release of this masterpiece.

CSGO: NiKo reveals FaZe Clanโ€™s plan with their roster

Nikola โ€˜NiKoโ€™ Kovac has recently opened up about FaZe Clan plans going into the upcoming tournaments in an interview given to HLTV.org during OMEN by HP 1 versus 1 challenge. Niko has admitted about his poor form during the major, and how it was the worst tournament of his life and a roster change was imminent after such a disaster. Filip โ€˜NEOโ€™ Kubski was the first head to fall leaving the IGL shoes hanging while NAVI announced the signing of Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovรกcs, two spots are open in the European roster.

We have asked around to see if Aleksib would fit our team and we basically decided he isn’t the right fit for us so we will not be getting him nor have we even been close to talking to him about it

Rumors have floated around about signing of the likes of Aleksib, Coldzera, and Broky, but as it seems Aleksib who seemed to be the closest to joining FaZe is completely out of the picture as Niko states he would be an improper fit given his success as an IGL with ENCE. Niko publicly stated that Broky has been practicing with them and has integrated well, he will be standing in for them during the upcoming two events which are the ESL One New York and ESL Pro League Season 10. The only concern with the Latvian player lies in the fact that he is still young and an unknown element in LAN events, Niko also stressed on the fact about how they have never met him.

I feel like me and coldzera are on the same page when it comes to CS and even outside of CS, so it’d definitely be great to play with him

Coldzera reportedly offering to pay a part of his buyout clause, the signing of GuardiaN by NaVi which must have left FaZe with some extra cash and with shrewd negotiators combined the $1 million buy out clause for the Brazilian is growing less of a worry.

French Court Says Valve Must Allow Steam Users To Resell Games

0

On Wednesday, French Court ruled that Valve must facilitate its users in reselling games that are bought on Steam. This rule doesnโ€™t only apply on Valve, rather it will soon be mandatory for every digital store to follow that operate in France. This move is a game-changer and can fundamentally change how companies and gamers interact with each other.

After 4 years of court battles, the French Court ruled the case in favour of UFC-Que Choisir, a French consumer group who first filled case against Valve. The group believes that consumers should have the right to resell their digital games similar to how they are able to resell the retail physical copies of the game.

โ€œSo far, dematerialized games, that is to say without physical support (such as a CD or a cartridge), could not be resold used, unlike box games. Believing that this difference in treatment was not justified, the UFC-Que Choisir asked the judges, four years ago, to declare the clause prohibiting the resale of Steam games abusive.โ€(translated from UFC-Que Choisirโ€™s Website release)

Currently, Valve doesnโ€™t allow reselling of games and have a clause in place that also limits its users to transfer ownership of accounts or game keys to others. According to the current terms and conditions of any digital purchase on Steam (or any other online platform that sell digital copies); when a User purchase a game, he is given a license key that is valid for an indefinite time, unlike physical copy of game where the User have rightful ownership of the game. This license key facilitates as temporary ownership with limited rights.

Although this ruling might look like a win-win situation for gamers currently, but it might push companies to change their model to that of subscribe-to-play. In sub-2-play model, a pre-defined library of games will be made available to Users at a monthly/yearly subscription fees (such as Origin Access, Uplay+, Google Stedia, etc). Secondly, it might even force some small developers (mostly indie devs) to shut their business or offer free-2-play games loaded with microtransactions to fund the development.

The Court also ruled out Valve form keeping funds of users that left their platform and also ruled 14 clauses that Valve impose on its users as illegal.

Currently, Valve is unwilling to accept the ruling and have filled for an appeal. The steam store will function as it is till the case is on appeal, but if the appeal is upheld than Valve will be forced to amend the changes to its store policy immediately.

Ninjas in Pyjamas announce new Dota 2 roster for 2019-20 DPC season

Its been a flurry of roster announcements for the past few days and now Ninjas in Pyjamas have announced their new line-up for the new season as well.

As expected, NIP retain Peter โ€œppdโ€ Dager as the captain of the team, and position 5 hard support player. PPD is the only member of the team from the last DPC season that has been retained.

First of the new recruits is Oliver “Skiter” Lepko, from Slovakia, who has represented teams like Penta and Team Spirit, before playing for Team Infamous last DPC season. He will play the hard carry position 1 role for Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The second recruit is Nico “Gunnar” Lopez, who played with EternalEnvy on the โ€œinfamousโ€ teamteam roster, at ESL One Mumbai and shot to fame, when he was kicked from the team, mid-tournament. Gunnar played the TI9 qualifiers from the SEA region under โ€œTeam Jinesbrusโ€ and was 1 step away from going to TI. Gunnar is a promising new prospect and we canโ€™t wait to see how he performs under PPDโ€™s guidance. Gunnar will play the role of MID LANER for Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Joining them will be ex-NAVI player Malthe “Biver” Winther, who has been a teammate of Skiter for a while now. Biver has played with Skiter on both Team Spirit and Infamous in recent times. He will take up the role of position 4 support for Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Final new addition to the team is not exactly new to the scene, we have Saahil “Universe” Arora, an ex-teammate of PPD from his Evil Geniuses days. The universe is a very experienced campaigner and will surely add value to this team.

As former teammates, ppd and Universe come in as the veterans in an otherwise unproven but extremely promising new line-up. The two share a track record having won The International 5 together and are now looking to combine their strengths once more and mold a team that can win championships.

The team will Bootcamp from September 27th,2019 in Stockholm, Sweden to prepare for the upcoming major/minor qualifiers.

Full NIP line-up:

  1. Oliver “Skiter” Lepko
  2. Nico “Gunnar” Lopez
  3. Saahil “Universe” Arora
  4. Malthe “Biver” Winther
  5. Peter “ppd” Dager

Na’Vi confirm GuardiaN return

Ladislav ‘GuardiaN’ Kovacs returns to Natus Vincere from Faze Clan to complete their roster, replacing the now-retired Danylo ‘Zeus’ Teslenko.

GuardiaN was an ever-present figure for Natus Vincere for nearly four years and was once regarded as one of the best players in the Counter-Strike world. The Slovakian nearly won the Major twice with Natus Vincere, only to fall short of EnvyUs and Luminosity in the finals of Dreamhack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015 and MLG Columbus 2016 respectively.

His stay at Faze Clan saw him come close to realizing the dream of bagging a Major, only to lose to Cloud9 in Overtime in unceremonious and heart-breaking fashion at the Boston Major.

2019 though, has not panned out well for GuardiaN, who has recorded his lowest HLTV rating to date, averaging merely 1.02 through the year so far, which is a huge drop from 2018, his previous lowest annual rating which stood at 1.09.

Faze Clan themselves have struggled to fill out their roster over the year and changes are reportedly in the offing for the North American organization as well.

GuardiaN is not the only change in Na’Vi, with Andrey ‘B1ad3’ Gorodenskiy moving to the Coach role to fill the void left by Kane. It will be interesting to see how the GuardiaN-s1mple dynamic works again.

For Na’Vi fans, this is exciting news though, as it will see the return of their once-favorite player along with the prospect of seeing a more fluid, more hybrid and more importantly, the old s1mple.

NaVi close in on Guardian deal

According to a tweet from OverDrive, the Russian organization is set to add GuardiaN in place of recently retired Zeus and b1ad3 as the coach in place of Kane.

There is no official statement by the organization regarding these additions but according to a recent tweet by OverDrive, it has been confirmed that this shuffle is going to happen for sure.

There were many speculations about GuardiaNโ€™s reuniting with the team and itโ€™s highly likely that itโ€™s going to happen soon enough.

This shuffle also opens two possibilities for FaZe Clan to look for addition after Neo and GuardiaN leaving the team.

Naโ€™Vi after these additions โ€“

โ€ข Egor โ€œflamieโ€ Vasilyev
โ€ข Aleksandr โ€œs1mpleโ€ Kostyliev
โ€ข Denis โ€œelectronicโ€ Sharipov
โ€ข Kirill โ€œBoombl4โ€ Mikhailov
โ€ข Ladislav โ€œGuardiaNโ€ Kovรกcs

โ€ข Andrey โ€œb1ad3โ€ Gorodenskiy (coach)

Questions raised around Global Esports’ direct invite to ESL Clash of Nations Bangkok 2019

0

The direct invite handed to the Global Esports Dota 2 squad for ESL Clash of Nations Bangkok 2019 has courted a bit of controversy. Entity manager Sid Joshi has questioned the legitimacy and semantics of the direct invite, which is said to be based on the fact that Global Esports is currently leading the pack in Phase 1 of the ESL India Masters Fall Edition.

Sid Joshi pointed out that Entity are the defending LAN champions, having won the ESL INDIA Masters Summer LAN and that the direct invite is harsh on their Dota roster.

The Entity manager has also put forth an explanation provided to him (now unavailable), which entails that Global Esports was awarded the slot/invite based on the aforementioned placement along with recommendations from NODWIN Gaming and ESL INDIA.

While Global Esports are mere spectators in this controversy, it begs the question of why the slot for such an illustrious event is being handed out based on current tentative standings and recommendations instead of concrete qualifiers or results.
