PUMA Releases First-Ever PUMA x Cloud9 Kicks

Global Sports company PUMA has teamed up again with esports brand, Cloud9 for the latest collection featuring the debut of PUMA x Cloud9 footwear along with apparel and accessories. The full collection includes striking Cloud9 blue vibes mixed with bold PUMA designs.

For the first time ever, a trio of PUMA footwear silhouettes appear in the collection including the Future Rider, RS-X and the AGF (Active Gaming Footwear). In only a few hours since the official release of the patch notes for Valorant v1.12, Riot Games have revealed the upcoming ‘Ion’ skin bundle for their competitive shooter.

In the official trailer for Ion, Riot describes the bundle as, “Forged at the edge of darkness and revered for its power, humanity’s last hope is in your hands with Ion.”

The new skin bundle contains skins for the Phantom, Sheriff, Bucky, Operator, and Melee featuring a white and blue futuristic theme that sci-fi fans would adore.

Riot Games have revealed the patch notes for v1.12 of their competitive shooter Valorant through their blog post today, and it seems to be quite small when compared to the last few patches.

Not much additional stuff has been implemented to the game through this new patch, but Riot have explained why the Act Ranks have gone missing in-game.

“Act Rank Badges are disabled in-game while we investigate a potential issue where they may be causing performance hitches in-game,” Riot devs said. “Your Act Rank Badge will still display in Competitive lobbies, map load in, and on the end-of-game screen.”

The update also fixes some underlying bugs in the shooter and introduces some changes to the observer mode.

The November 9th patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone brings the much awaited private matches for the battle-royale mode besides nerfs and bug fixes.

The update will let players stack up a minimum of 50 players in the same lobby for them to get the same BR experience against their desired opponents, helping the cause for our favorite streamers and entertainers to fight it out against each other. BR, Plunder, and the freshly introduced Mini BR with at least 24 players will be available as the private warzone is still in its early beta days.

Along with a Private Warzone, Activision has addressed the distress in the community about the overpowered Juggernaut Suit by removing its Killstreak in the bunkers. The playlist has also been altered with Shoot House and Shipment handed the 24/7playlist back but Hardpoint Hill, Kills also the TDM Snipers Only will be placed in rotation.

There has been quite a concern about the size of the game, to help with storage issues, Activision has introduced texture streaming for PC only, where the game will be able to stream in the necessary texture ahead of the render to save the player some disk space and will also improve loading speeds.

However, for consoles, the route taken the developer is a bit different by using lower quality textures is as the ingame default, but for players to spare the extra storage, a high quality texture pack is also available.

System Enter Metro Royale: Tap the metro tunnel entrance in the Lobby to enter the Metro Royale gameplay lobby, which contains an exclusive system and features, including a black market, loadout inventory, command post, missions, talents, rankings, etc.
  • Black Market: The Black Market is the exclusive Metro Royale shop. Players can purchase supplies and new equipment here before starting a match. Players can also sell the supplies they bring out of Metro Royale for Metro Cash. The supplies available in the Black Market differ from those in Classic Mode and are divided into different quality levels. The Black Market also offers Metro Royale-exclusive weapons, mines, and other new items.
  • Loadout Inventory: Equipment configured in the loadout menu can be brought into battle. When you return victorious from the battlefield, items are taken back to the loadout menu. Items can be stored in the Metro Royale Inventory. Items kept in the Metro Royale Inventory won’t be brought into the battlefield and won’t be lost if the player is defeated. Items carried in your Backpack will be the only items you bring into the match, so remember to include enough ammo! Items stored in the Lock Box will be brought back to you whether you win or lose the match.
  • Command Post: At the Command Post, you can check your Favorability with NPCs, read NPC backstories, and give them gifts to increase your Favorability. When your Favorability with an NPC increases, they’ll give you useful resources that will help you survive in the Metro Royale world!
  • Theme Gameplay Metro theme (from November): Underground Metro stations, monsters, and a Radiation Zone will appear on the Classic Erangel map. The Aurora, which is under repair, will appear on the Spawn Island. 2 of 4 Metro lines will randomly appear in Erangel each time. Access them via Metro stations to get around quickly. Winter Festival theme (from December) A cold wave has hit Erangel, covering the sea surface in ice floes. Follow them to find the randomly-appearing Winter Castle Paradise, get into jolly snowball fights with friends, and snowboard to your heart’s content. In addition to the chilliness, the cold wave has also brought the warmth of the holidays. Visit the Winter Festival hut and the gift pine tree that have appeared next to the city and partake in the festivities with your companions.
  • Adjustment of Mode Availability Times After the version update, Infection Mode and RageGear Mode will be taken offline for further tuning. Check future notices for the new release dates of these modes. After the version update, Payload 2.0 Mode will be available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting at UTC+0 instead.
  • Throw Melee Weapons : Players holding melee weapons can now toggle Throw mode. Throwing deals damage to enemies within 40 meters. Only enemies not wearing helmets can be knocked out directly with a head shot. Melee weapons can also be picked up after throwing so you can throw melee weapons an unlimited number of times.
  • New item: Spike Traps appears on the ground in the Classic Mode and can be used in the throwable items tab after being picked up. Place the traps on the ground to puncture vehicle tires that pass over them. The traps are for disabling the vehicle and won’t damage the vehicle itself. Spike Traps are a one-time item. They can only puncture 1 vehicle’s tires and can’t be retrieved after being placed.
  • Mini-map Marks: Players can now mark routes on the map during the match, which provides squads with a faster and more convenient way to communicate their tactics.
  • Controls Settings Sharing: A code for a player’s control and sensitivity settings can be generated and shared, enabling other players to replicate them.
  • Quick Throw Feature: Once this has been enabled in the settings, players will be able to throw throwables quickly by swiping the screen.

Combat Improvements:

  • Improved the Buggy driving experience and reduced the chance of having slippery rear wheels.
  • When players are driving a vehicle, their equipped weapon will be shown so that the driving player can see what type of weapon they have equipped.
  • Improved the reloading animation of the DP-28.
  • Added Win94 sight sensitivity settings to the settings interface.
  • Increased the max sensitivity of the gyroscope to 400.
  • Improved the accuracy of materials used for the model of Holographic Sights.
  • Improved the color performance of the crosshair of 2× Scopes and 3× Scopes.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the amount of Health recovered and the actual Health to be displayed incorrectly when Bandages are used consecutively.
  • The universal mark is able to mark enemies through walls, ignoring obstacles within 5 meters.
  • The quick mark for supplies and enemies with the universal marker are displayed on the mini-map.
  • Improved the Grenade explosion marks on the mini-map to differentiate them from gunshot marks.
  • Settings Improvements : Added a feature to customize the control layout of vehicles. This can be used to change the layout of the vehicle operation screen. Decreased the lower limit of button transparency to 0%.

Throwables Improvements :

  • Slightly reduced the interval between making throws.
  • Frag Grenades Slightly reduced their damage (-20%).
  • Improved the blast effect of Frag Grenades.
  • Stun Grenades will take effect 0.7 seconds after hitting the ground. Increased the effective range of Stun Grenades from 5 meters to 6.5 meters. Improved the blast effect of Stun Grenades.
  • Smoke Grenades will take effect 1 second after hitting the ground. Slightly reduced the FPP visibility of players after they are hit by the Smoke Grenade.
  • Molotov Cocktails: Increased the damage taken by players in the burning area of Molotov Cocktails by 10. Increased the effective range of Molotov Cocktails by 20%.

Security Improvements:

  • Improved the hardware used for the safety verification system to improve verification efficiency.
  • Adopted strict screening and ban strategies to target unauthorized purchases, boosting, and other malicious propaganda.
  • Stronger capabilities to combat various cheats and network attacks.

RP Changes:

Season 16 RP rewards features Artyom or Anna at Lv. 1. The new Night Terror Set awaits at Lv. 100. New Metro events: RP exclusive event tab. Obtain Metro Badges via various channels to go on an adventure. Unlock the story as you explore and choose to advance for free or after making a purchase. Collect Metro supplies and redeem them for Colonel Miller and other grand rewards.

New RP group event: Join a group after purchasing the RP, add enough members to collect a free reward, and reach the target level together to receive an extra reward. Subscription RP subscription perk updates: Redeem AG for RP points at a favorable conversion rate to make it even easier to purchase RP exclusive redemption items.

New RP subscription perk: Activate a subscription to immediately get back 10% of the RP points you have already used during the season (calculated from the release of this feature in Season 15). Each player can only collect this once. Get extra RP points when you activate an RP subscription for the first time. Players who have already activated a subscription will receive the rewards via mail. Improved the tutorial and prompts for RP subscriptions, improved other contents, and fixed bugs.

Others:

  • Fixed an issue that caused players to get stuck in the ground at Paradise in Sanhok.
  • Improved physical collision detection to resolve an issue that caused players to move through walls under some circumstances.
  • Server Selection: To ensure that everyone experiences less network lag and has a better gaming environment, players will be unable to switch servers at will from Season 16 on. The Switch Server function will be moved to the System Settings screen. After changing their server, players will need to wait 60 days before they can change it again.
  • New Achievements: Added Winter Festival achievements, Metro IP achievements, and exclusive special achievements that can only be obtained in this version.
  • Team-up Platform Improvements: Added a feature to filter teammates by KD in the Team-up Platform. BGM Added a feature to switch the Lobby BGM in the Inventory.
  • Download Feature: Improvements Improved the download classification to provide a better download experience. Improved the user experience when interacting with the download floating window of the Lobby. Corresponding rewards can be collected here after downloading resource packs. Split low-spec audio into various downloadable packs. The packs must be downloaded before they can be used properly. PUBG Mobile has been banned in India for the last two months but recent developments suggest that the game is on its way to make a comeback in India. The last few days have been exciting for PUBG Mobile fans in India as many major collaborations have been announced and some hints paved a path for PUBG Mobile to get back in the country.

Starting with the ban itself, PUBG Mobile was banned by the IT ministry of India alongside hundreds of other apps under the pretext of being “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, Defence of India, Security of State and Public Order.” These are the events that followed the banishment:

TENCENT HOLDINGS STOCKS FALL

Tencent faced a severe impact of this ban as their share value dropped drastically after the ban was announced. According to Reuters, “Shares of Chinese gaming and social media powerhouse Tencent fell more than 2% on Thursday after India banned 118 mobile apps, including the firm’s popular videogame PUBG.

This reportedly led Tencent to lose over $14 billion. The Chinese conglomerate faced a heavy financial backlash due to India’s decision to ban this game.

PUBG Corp. severed their ties with Tencent Holdings and assumed complete control over publishing and distribution rights of PUBG Mobile in India.

They also gave assurances that pointed towards localized content and tournaments for the region. This can be compared to Game for Peace; the Chinese variant of PUBG Mobile; or PUBG Mobile Korea, which has its own local variant separated from the global version. This meant that India could get their own separate game with PUBG Corporation as the publishers.

JIO AND PUBG CORP. PARTNERSHIP RUMOURS

When the publishing rights were back to PUBG Corp, many rumours started spreading that linked Jio with PUBG Corp. These leads suggested that PUBG Corporation were in talks with Indian telecommunication titan Jio for discussing a potential partnership.

The distribution and publishing rights were on the table for this partnership but later, these rumors faded away and no further reports were published talking about the developments of this arrangement.

PUBG CORP. MERGER WITH KRAFTON

PUBG Corporation recently announced a merger with Krafton Inc. This merger took the entirety of PUBG Corp. under the umbrella of Krafton alongside all the distribution and development operations of the company’s famous battle-royale title PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds.

This is not linked to PUBG Mobile ban or unban in India but can change a few things in the future. As mentioned above, PUBG Corp assumed full control over PUBG Mobile IP in India and now as the company itself has merged with Krafton; its parent company; there may be few changes that can take place with the PUBG Mobile publishing rights in India.

TENCENT SHUTS DOWN OPERATIONS IN INDIA:

Tencent recently shut down their operations in the country which rendered PUBG Mobile inaccessible in the country. Despite the ban, most of the casual players were still enjoying the game with various third-party stores but with this announcement, PUBG Mobile servers in India have been shut down and hence, the PUBG Mobile chapter in India is entirely closed for now.

PUBG MOBILE COMING BACK TO INDIA?

INTRODUCTION OF MICROSOFT IN THE RACE:

As we reported earlier, Microsoft is leading the race to acquire the rights for Indian region and this lead has been fortified since Krafton announced a global collaboration with Microsoft Azure to ensure user privacy and data handling for all the PUBG Corporation’s titles, including PUBG Mobile.

Furthermore, this collaboration specifically focuses on the concerns of user privacy and if we connect the dots, the major reason for which this ban was imposed gets resolved with Microsoft in picture.

Several Indian PUBGM pros have already hinted at a “good news” and all of these implications suggest that PUBG Mobile is on the verge of getting unbanned in India.
