ESIC Closes All Stream-Sniping Investigations Without Prosecution, Reinforces Stricter Prohibitions

The ESIC has decided not to proceed with any prosecutions against the “widespread” stream-sniping cases and has closed the ongoing investigation to prevent harming the esports scene revolving around CSGO.

In a statement released today, ESIC said that there have been “numerous allegations” of stream-sniping cases against players and coaches in the past few months. They further claimed that these allegations were “widespread” in this online age of esports, and that some of the cases were “impossible to prove” or would require a considerable among of resources to be thoroughly examined.

“ESIC has therefore concluded that the only sensible solution for the CS:GO community was to draw a line in the sand as of the date of this statement by indicating that we are closing all current investigations without prosecution and reiterating that any violation of this rule from today onwards will be prosecuted vigorously and the maximum available sanction sought if the player, coach or team is found guilty,” ESIC said in the statement.

Moving forwards, ESIC has implemented stricter restrictions for stream-sniping and has reinforced prohibition on stream sniping in CSGO with its notification of a zero-tolerance policy.

Recommendations put forward by the ESIC to prevent stream-sniping in future tournaments:

1) Any tournament rule prohibiting the viewing of a broadcast stream of a CSGO match should be reviewed and, if required, strengthened, republished, and notified to all participants.

2) Stream delay should be increased to a minimum of 3 minutes.

3) During technical pauses between a game, the stream shouldn’t show any information on the current round. Casters and analysts should also refrain from commentating on the current round.

4) In tier-one competitions, efforts should be made to include live video feeds from the playing teams.

5) To prevent the exploitation of the 3-minute broadcast delay for betting fraud by teams, tournament organizers should reach “official data” agreements to provide real-time data via a data partner or directly to the esports betting industry.

Three Underrated Stars to Watch in Valorant First Strike NA Finals

It has surely been a long long journey from the initiation of Valorant to its first Major, of sorts. The obvious ongoing pandemic makes it difficult to have a LAN event, which saw Riot Games announce a string of region-dedicated Majors in the form of Valorant First Strike.

The North American region is considered, by far, the most competitive region right now, and the teams did not disappoint. The viewers were testament to a series of scintillating matchups and the start of new rivalries as the Qualifiers took place. Eight teams managed to book their place in the Finals, with most of the favourites, except Cloud 9 Blue, making it.

There are some players who put in a real shift for their respective teams and were instrumental to their qualification. Yet, they have somehow flown under the radar for a while now and deserve to be highlighted for the sake of the viewers watching, if not for anything else.

Valorant First Strike NA: Three Underrated Stars to Watch

1. Andrew ‘ShoT_UP’ Orlowski | Team: Immortals

The 20-year-old had a brief stint in CSGO and might not have been a household name then, but his stocks have ShoT_UP considerably since switching to Valorant. Andrew has impressive statistics to back his love for duelists and loves to run with Reyna in officials.

ShoT_UP was influential in Immortals’ run to the Finals of the Renegades x Nerd Street Gamers Invitational, losing narrowly in a best of five series in the Finals. The 20-year-old is up there with the best of the best in North America, ranking 3rd in terms of Average Combat Score in officials (262.6) in the region, with a hefty Kill/Death Ratio of 1.25.

Immortals have been able to impress and surprise a lot of fans and experts with their performances and ShoT_UP has been instrumental in that. Pick up any charts or parameter and you will find ShoT_UP in the top 10 of the list in the North American region.

While the 20-year-old failed to be an integral part of Immortals’ qualification to Valorant First Strike due to illness, he will be raring to go up against the bigwigs and prove just why he is starting to be rated so highly by his peers. Up against an ever-improving Envy side in the Quarter-Finals, it will be up to ShoT_UP to win the duels early on and put pressure on the opposition.

2. Andrej ‘BABYBAY’ Francisty | Team: FAZE Clan

Another duelist to appear on our list of underrated stars, FAZE Clan fans would agree that BABYBAY has often been overshadowed by his teammate, Jimmy ‘Marved’ Nguyen. The 25-year-old was one of the stars to make the switch from Overwatch and has proven his mettle against imports from other esports well so far.

In fact, he is THE star of the FAZE Clan Valorant roster in terms of pure numbers recently, boasting an Average Combat Score of 233 in officials in the last couple of months, despite being versatile on the server and not playing the Duelist role in a few matches. BABYBAY’s go to agent is the Jett but he has grown to be equally comfortable on Raze.

One key ingredient in BABYBAY’s play is his ability to rack up kills quickly and in the space of a few rounds, which has often seen him go from having no kills to being on top of the leaderboard in a short space of time. When the 25-year-old gets going, it is tough to find ways to counter his aggressive playstyle and is quite frankly, entertaining to watch from a neutral standpoint.

Now, FAZE Clan are heavy underdogs going up against Sentinels in the Quarter-Finals. However, Sentinels have looked shaky and BABYBAY will directly be up against Shahzeb ‘ShahZaM’ Khan in terms of a straight Jett-Operator duel. FAZE Clan would be pinning their hopes on the 25-year-old to come out on top against the former Csgo professional on the server.

3. Taylor ‘drone’ Johnson | Team: TSM

TSM go into First Strike North America finals as one of the heavy favourites to land the Major win. But, often when the name TSM is mentioned, fans immediately envision the likes of Matthew ‘wardell’ Yu and Yassine ‘Subroza’ Taoufik as the stars of the lineup and perhaps, rightly so.

However, one name that has been continuously keeping his stocks up and stepping up when duty calls is drone. Often regarded as the third duelist in TSM, drone has been so much more, boasting a credible 1.28 K/D throughout his career. What makes him Mr. Dependable in the lineup though, is his ability to convert clutch situations, with a 22% success ratio when it comes to clutches.

A master of finding heads, with 30% headshot ratio, drone has stepped up even more recently, with wardell and Subroza taking turns to have off days. TSM will be up against Renegades, who have truly sprung up as a surprise package recently, with their tactical and calculated playing style. Their opponents also seem masters of cheese strategies and we might have to see the third TSM duelist step up once again to rescue them from the Renegades.

How to Check League of Legends Server Status

0

League of Legends have built a reputation for expected server outages at this point, with players getting disconnected at random times mid-game on multiple occasion, Riot has been rained down upon with reports suggesting server issue.

For the past years, there was no way of knowing about server outages, often leading players to think that the issue is on their end. However, as the game has grown, so has the world around it with ample methods available now to check for server outages.

Downdetector is an independent website that keeps a tab of server status across multiple online games with a region-based sorting system. It also provides the number of players who reported the issue and facing server related troubles with the game. It helps users to figure out the location of the affected servers and the number of players facing similar issues with a given game.

Other than third-party websites which are reliable enough, players can look for any server-side issues with the developer as they post a message regarding registered reports in real-time. “No recent issues or events to report.” will be displayed in case of no reported issues which can be co-related by players through Downdetector. If the server load exceeds a certain limit, outages might occur forcing the server to shut down to avoid a crash.

Keep a close eye on LOL Twitter and Riot Support Twitter as they will Tweet out any major issues reported across a region.

CSGO Server Issues Cause Delay at Astralis vs Liquid DreamHack match

The CSGO developers seem to be spending too much time on the servers these day. But, they will have to work on them again as the csgo servers went down, delaying the match between Liquid and Astralis in the DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 Europe. The delay was also hinted by Astralis csgo star Nicolai ‘device’ Reedtz on Twitter.

Along with the servers acting up, the Steam Store seem to glitch out after every few seconds and it has caused worry and excitement both among the csgo fans. Some have speculated that this is the prelude to a potential new Operation that was rumoured to be coming in soon.

The servers seem to be back up since and it is Liquid who are trailing right now, with Astralis winning Vertigo – Liquid’s map pick – 16-14 and are leading 8-2 on the offence on their own map pick, Inferno. The winner of this match will go on to face the loser between G2 Esports and FURIA for a spot in the playoffs while the loser will be eliminated from the aforementioned DreamHack event.

CSGO inventory is down right now

CSGO inventories are facing an outage keeping players away from checking their own as well as other player’s inventories.

Steam server outages are nothing out of the ordinary, but an issue harassing players for quite a while is the inventory outage for CSGO specifically. Players are unable to access or look into their inventories at times as they are greeted with a message stating “This inventory is not available at this time. Please try again later.”

This is a peculiar issue given the fact that this is inconsistent and gets fixed in a moment then makes a return in the next. On top of that, not everyone is facing it, thus it can’t be said for sure if it’s a server-side issue.

There is no concrete reason singled out behind this, as some are suggesting it’s a server-side issue while others say it’s an issue caused by the local client. The error message disappeared with e couple of refreshes or it fixes itself if time is given.

Steam is yet to acknowledge this issue and deliver a definite solution, till then the lack-luster method of refreshing the page until fixed is the only way around the error.

CSGO Servers Are Down In The US as ‘Connecting to CSGO Network’ error hits Steam [December 2]

Counter-Strike Global Offensive, otherwise known as CSGO is experiencing server problems this morning.

The Independent website DownDetector.com has received a massive surge of reports related to the game in the last few minutes.

Down Detector is an independent website that tracks outages across the globe by monitoring social mentions around specific topics.

CSGO down in the US

On December 2, CSGO players across the United States reported outages of the game servers. It’s still unclear what caused the outage, but it could be due to a number of reasons.

The first and a common cause of server outages is a new update. When a new update is shipped to the game, the servers can go down for a short while. However, in case of an update, the servers can be up quite quickly.

Another reason behind server outages may be a technical fault in Valve’s servers. This is very unlikely to happen but has happened on more than one occasion in the past.

Valorant Patch 1.13 Will Aim To Curb Smurfing And AFKs

0

The upcoming Valorant patch 1.13 for Valorant is just around the corner, and it looks like the developers are looking to crack down on the smurfing problem that the competitive shooter has been facing since the early days of its release.

If you’ve played ranked Valorants in the lower brackets of the competitive spectrum, then you’re probably aware of the huge number of smurfs infesting the game. One of the prime reasons behind the increasing number of smurfs in Valorant is the low requirement for playing the ranked mode, and it seems like Riot is about to fix this problem in the next Valorant update.

In a recent Reddit post complaining about the smurf problem, a Valorant player responded with an idea to curb the number of smurfs in the game by a margin. Currently, the requirements for joining the ranked Valorant queue are 20 unrated games. However, the outcomes of those games don’t matter, which is leading to players AFKing their first 20 games to gain access to the ranked queue. The player recommended switching these to 10 wins instead so AFK players have a much tougher time gaining access to ranked.

To the excitement of Valorant fans, a Riot developer responded to the comment and confirmed that this feature will be implemented in the next patch.

“We’re changing it from 20 games played -> 10 wins,” the dev said. “We’re hoping this also helps with AFKs a bit.”

In case you’re curious, Valorant patch 1.13 is expected to drop on December 8th.

The new map comes with 16 Place of Interest (POIs). A total of four new locations have been added which includes, Stealthy Stronghold to the North-West, Hunter’s Haven to the South, Colossal Coliseum to the East and finally Salty Towers to the West.

Judging from the leaks, all the Marvel POIs have been removed. The farms have also gone missing from the map owing to the damages caused by the Zero Point. Leaving these new tweaks and changes aside, the rest of the map still largely remains the same.
