xQc at risk for another Twitch ban

Felix Lengyel aka xQc is looking at a possible Twitch ban after an unintentional display of nudity during a live stream earlier today.

Watching viral/popular videos on stream has been bit of a trend among streamers for the past few years, the only risk it with such videos is, more often than not they are uncensored which opens the possibility for them to contain illicit content that may not be appreciated by Twitch’s ToS. Given how strict Twitch is, anything that do not sit right with them will end up getting the streamer banned for uncertain duration or permanent termination of their account altogether.

Something similar happened when xQc in his stream earlier on 17th May was going through a series of viral videos when he came across one where the police were attempting to arrest a person with blurred genitals out in the open. The blur does not stop xQc from violating Twitch’s ToS rather may work in his favour if Twitch decides to punish him.

xQc is definitely aware of the issue and his deleted the VOD in no time but the threat of a ban still looms over his head. A ban for an accidental display of nudity is nothing unprecedented when comes to Twitch and given Lengyel’s track record, the Amazon owned streaming platform may not shy away from banning him again.

It is quite obvious that the incident was an honest mistake from xQc which might appeal to Twitch. They can always be a little considerate when handling matters of unintentional mistakes that has cause little to no harm.

Anonymo vs NiP CSGO Rematch Drama Explained

The May 14 Flashpoint 3 showdown between Anonymo and Ninjas in Pyjamas has stirred a new drama across the wider Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community. 

On May 14, Anonymo kicked the series favorites Ninjas in Pyjamas to the lower bracket of Flashpoint 3, but the Swedish team has refused to accept the loss. The Regional Major Ranking event pit the star-studded roster of NiP featuring Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz against 44 ranked squad of Anonymo. The ball was statistically in NiP’s favor, but a surprise win for the Polish team shocked the fans. 

The Hampus “hampus” Poser led roster played the game with 30-40% losses, as revealed by a new recruit dev1ce who expressed his frustration on Twitter. GOTV screenshots showed that the team could barely switch weapons and use utility during their three map game. Multiple NiP members and CEO Hicham Chahine revealed that the admins displayed irresponsible behavior during the pauses and rushed the match despite the ridiculous packet loss.

The team went on to play the series with high packet losses and managed to win only one map. Soon after the loss, dev1ce slammed the tournament organizers for making a hash of the entire game. The newly turned Ninja accused the admins of “immature handling of the situation.” 

NiP files a complaint after their loss against Anonymo

As per rule 5.5A, NiP submitted an official complaint to League Operations team regarding the inconveniences caused during their May 14 game. A collaborative effort from NiP and Flashpoint revealed that it was essentially a server issue that caused the packet loss. Flashpoint security settings were partially blocking traffic from NiP to the Flashpoint game server. The investigation asserted that NiP wasn’t exactly at fault as they couldn’t do anything to rectify the situation. 

Considering the investigation findings, the organizer announced a rematch on Sunday, which triggered an insane backlash from the wider community. The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gurus, casters, and professional players came out in support of Anonymo, who later released an official statement refuting the rematch. The release cited that the players had offered a rematch after noticing the packet losses and were willing to change servers as well. The fact that NiP had agreed to play the game regardless makes their win a “fair and square” one. 

Apart from all the claims, Anonymo also accused NiP of misusing its power as a prominent esports brand. The statement attested that NiP is pressuring Faceit for a rematch “on a business level”, a claim that Swedish organization turned down as “shockingly misleading.” 

Flashpoint scraps the date for rematch

An intrusion from Counter-Strike Professional Players’ Association members and influential community figures had a more significant impact as Flashpoint scrapped the date soon after the announcement. The members of CSPPA also opposed the rematch as the decision was made without the board’s consultation. 

The date for the rematch was soon scrapped off from announced initially May 16. The rematch day is still unknown as the matters are likely getting resolved at the backend. Anonymo has also been offered the choice between playing the full BO3 or only the last Map.

The community is leaning more in favour of Anonymo in this situation due to how events unfolded. The new recruit dev1ce had directly targeted the admins both in GOTV chat and on Twitter, which further affirmed Anonymo’s claims of NiP’s powerplay for the fans at least. However, the organization has insinuated business pressure from NiP without providing any proof. There is likely some proof for that claim to hold. Otherwise, it’s a baseless accusation of debasement. 

Anonymo is undoubtedly a newer name in esports, raising many questions about how the situation would pan out if the roles were reversed. While everything has been happening by the book so far, fans can’t but wonder if the implications were just as severe if Anonymo had requested for a rematch one day after playing a game despite critical losses.

Pokimane and OfflineTV has surprised Sodapoppin with a Twitch raid worth of 62K viewers but the latter was anything but impressed by Pokimane’s generosity.

There is hardly anyone on Twitch who would turn down a raid from the likes of Pokimane, given her huge following can make or break anyone’s career on the platform. However, there is one such streamer who was far from interested in getting hosted by the 25 year old.

Pokimane hosting Soda earned him a whopping 62K concurrent viewers. 62K concurrent viewers is unbelievable but instead of thanking Pokimane, Soda ended up roasting her before suggesting her to host someone else, though it was an intended pun.

Soda was confused given how difficult it is to understand World of Warcraft and anyone who hasn’t played it will definitely not enjoy his stream, let alone 62K of Pokimane’s audience. “Why? Oh, I’m actually so mad, I’m playing World of Warcraft…. they probably just hosted and they’re probably off doing something in their dumb house, please un host and host someone else.” said Sodapoppin.

It is obvious that everyone will welcome a 62K hike in their viewership numbers and so will Soda, despite how he reacts, one can tell that deep down he enjoyed it while it lasted. Soda is a lesser-known streamer compared to the likes of Pokimane, capable of rivaling anyone in terms of talent which, little by little the community is learning to appreciate.

Mass Effect Legendary Editon: Kaidan or Ashley, Who To Save and How?

The Mass Effect Legendary Edition released 14th May 2021, follows the same story and events that happened throughout the trilogy. The Legendary Edition remasters the trilogy from 2007 and brings it upto today’s standard. In addition to graphical improvements, Bioware has also made various changes, adjustments, and improvements to the trilogy. 

Playing Mass Effect is a totally different experience from the game available today. You have to make a lot of important choices throughout the story in the trilogy and one such decision involves the faith of two characters from Mass Effect 1 — Kaidan and Ashley.

Saving Kaidan or Ashley isn’t hard, but the game story pits you with a difficult choice of choosing either of one to save. That’s right, you can either save Kaidan or Ashley, not both, those who already played Mass Effect 1 previously might know this.

There isn’t any option to save both, while Bioware had intended to include a 3rd option to save both, it was scrapped before the release in 2007. That said, Bioware has again chosen to follow the original storyline and doesn’t offer the 3rd option to save both in the Legendary Editon. 

How to save Kaidan or Ashley

Right after the completion of two of the first three plot worlds: Therum, Noveria, or Feros; you will acquire “The Virmire” mission.

The Virmire mission sequence is a major turning point in the Mass Effect series. Unlike other missions, you can’t leave the planet Virmire before completing the mission.

Upon landing, you will be forced to see Virmire’s mission chain to its very end, and on the way, you will end up losing a lot of allies including Kaidan or Ashley. 

The mission starts with the drop-off on Virmire. From here you have to make your way to the Salarian Camp via 3 gatehouses. When you reach the camp, you will be greeted by a cutscene of Ashley and Kaidan arguing with the salarian captain, who introduces himself as Captain Kirrahe, 3rd Infiltration Regiment, STG.

Captain Kirrahe has a plan to infiltrate Saren’s base, but it involves high risk and a lot of luck. At this point, Kirrahe will form assault teams and ask you for a volunteer for one team. Here you will be put between Kaidan or Ashley on who will accompany Captain Kirrahe and who will go to the ‘bomb’ run with you.

When you are on the bomb run with the one you choose, the other will make a distress call asking for immediate assistance leaving one behind. A few instances later, Geth will start dropping all over the place and your team will have to arm the bomb sealing the fate of everyone.

Both Kaidan and Ashley will be in a dire situation where saving both will be impossible and you will have to make the hard choice of saving one of them. 

The one you pick will remain in your team and journey with you through the series (all 3 games) and the other will perish with the bomb and permanently leave your squad for all three games. 

Who to choose, Kaidan or Ashley?

From the point of the story, none of the two will affect the future events and plots in any way. The main differentiating point between Kaidan or Ashley is the combat abilities.  Kaidan is a Biotics class while Ashley is a normal Soldier. Kaidan might prove useful later in the game as Biotics will be helpful later in the game.

As for Ashley, being a Soldier she is a master of arm with high firepower. Both the characters are well written and can be romanced later, but in this department, Ashley’s character is very well written and have tons of dialogues. So from the prospect of gameplay Kaidan might looks a better fit but from the point of romance, Ashley will fit more. 

Pick whoever you want to pick, both will fit well perfectly in your squad and won’t become a burden later on in the series. Just remember that once the choice is done, the other character won’t be available throughout the series and will perish with their inventory.

Misty Mocha in game funeral to be held on NoPixel GTA RP server

NoPixel GTA RP server suffered a great loss when DovahPug lost his long-fought battle against cancer on 11th May 2020. Out of grief for DovahPug who played the role of Misty Mocha, a funeral was held at the NoPixel roleplay server in Legion Square, Los Santos.

Twitch staff RevRoach announced the funeral on Twitter and players who knew Misty Mocha collected “In Memory” plaques. The memorial service continuing moves to the bay in GTA Online, as NoPixel RP players drove together to the bay. Players accumulate at the bay to say their farewells to Misty Mocha.

RevRoach showed his gratitude stating: “Thank you to all the admins for work behind the scenes and if you are around and have RPd with Alex, come by and say something. Everyone is more than welcome to be there.”

In the stream currently underway and grief in everyone’s voice is evident. A significant number of people have joined in to remember the memories that they made with him in the role play server. The stream is embedded in the window below, where players can be seen fondly remember Alex and share stories.

In what can easily be regarded as one of the biggest blunders any video game company can ever make, Mediatonic has accidentally leaked the source code of the popular title ‘Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’ publicly on Steam through its 4.5 patch update.

This massive blunder was initially pointed out by Reddit user u/darklinkpower, who proceeded to reveal his findings in a Reddit post.

Fall Guys seems to include the source code in its game files after its newest season 4.5 update.

He explained, “Today the 4.5 season update of the game launched and earlier when I was checking the game directory I saw this weird directory named ‘FallGuys_client_BackUpThisFolder_ButDontShipItWithYourGame’. A pretty suspicious name if you ask me.”

He then took a peek at the folder and found several c++ files and libraries inside it.

With the source code of the insanely popular game being accidentally leaked, players can try to decompile it and even theoretically re-release the game (although that’d be illegal).

Needless to say, the Mediatonic developers are probably already working on fixing the massive blunder that they’ve made.

Vision Striker’s captain Kim ‘Glow’ Min-so has announced his departure from Valorant competitive lineup, just before one year of game’s official launch. The decision came in after 33-year-old failed to lead his team to quality for a major international event VCT Masters Reykjavík, scheduled later this month.

Kim was an active professional athlete, who had over a decade long career in esports. From the likes of WeMadeFox & Project kr, Glow was a celebrated player in the Korean region for his achievements in Counter Strike franchise with 1.6 & GO. He switched to Valorant last year ridding on the success of the new Riot FPS game, which is attracting millions worldwide.

“My time as a player was coming to an end and I myself felt this the most especially over Challengers One and Challengers Two, where we ended up shocking a lot of people with our loss and where I felt that my ceiling as a player was at its limit,” glow said in a YouTube video released on Vision Striker’s channel.

VCT Stage Masters boasts of a hefty prize pool of $600,000. Ten participants from across the globe are participating in qualifiers to arrive at Iceland later this month, where winners are poised to get $200,000.

Tencent announces multiple anime-based mobile games

Mobile gamers who also love to watch anime are in for a treat as Tencent Games has announced three new mobile games at a conference today. These games will come under different genres and will represent the actual characters and storyline of famous anime like One Piece and One Punch Man.

Daniel Ahmed, Senior Analyst at Nico Partners has revealed this information. He tweeted about three new games that are under development by multiple studios under Tencent Games. Starting with the One Piece title, it is temporarily called as Project: Fighter. As the name suggests, it is going to be a fighting game.

One Piece is a popular anime title with a vast storyline. It currently has more than 980 episodes and is still airing weekly. Tencent has got the approval of Bandai Namko and hence, this game will have as many original characters as possible. A short trailer was also released and it highlights initial arcs of the anime as storyline.

Players can enjoy their the main characters from Straw Hat Pirates and face against enemy Marines and other enemies from the first few seasons. This game is currently promised for China but a global release could be announced on the later stages.

Two more titles were announced in this conference. One of them will be based on One Punch Man and its original plot will be possibly incorporated in-game as well. This game will be ‘turn-based’ and further information has not been revealed yet.

The last title will be based on classic cartoon of Digimon. It will a RPG game and is named as “Digimon: New Century” and it is being developed by Qixia Interactive with Bandai Namko as partners. All of these games are only releasing in China for now.

It is very interesting to see Tencent working on multiple mobile titles at once and all of them are based on anime in one way or another. No release date have been announced yet but more information will be revealed on a later date.

Dr. Rushindra Sinha, the CEO of Global Esports had an unprecedented loss due to the cyclonic weather that is haunting Mumbai for the last few hours. Dr Sinha posted an image of his battered Porsche on Instagram, which has been destroyed because of the rainstorm.

The western coast of India is bracing for a heavy storm as Cyclone Tauktae is making its way to Gujarat coast. This storm has caused an absurd amount of downpour in Mumbai and the gusty winds are causing destruction to life and property in the city. This “extremely severe cyclonic storm” will hit Gujarat on the evening of 17th May.

The wind speed has caused heavy rainfall in Mumbai city and this is the reason of substantial amount of losses for many. CEO of Global Esports was one of those unlucky few who had to face losses due to this cyclone. His beloved red Porsche is crushed from the front side.

Dr. Sinha uploaded a photo of the incident and captioned it with “Cyclone Tauktae claims another victim” while referring to his car. He also added that no one was destroyed in this accident and a full video regarding this incident will be uploaded on his YouTube channel.

This Porsche has been an integral part for Dr. Sinha and boasts the logo and information of Global Esports. The images show that the front side of car has been dismantled. The hood and bumper have sustained maximum damage from the front and sides as well.

Cyclone Tauktae is certainly very destructive and we urge our readers to stay indoors until the weather becomes better.
