daps to play for EG as stanislaw goes on temporary hiatus

Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz, the in-game leader of Evil Geniuses (EG) CSGO division has decided to temporarily step down from the roster ahead of the ESL Pro League (EPL) Season 14 in the wake of the stressful requirements being hammered down by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Head Coach Damian “daps” Steele will replace stanislaw until the latter feels 100% to return back to competition. 

Stanislaw stated that he was unable to find positivity in the current player break, underway since the conclusion of IEM Cologne 2021, and has returned back home. EG has been in Europe for a long time now like the other teams who have had their boot camp set up in the former country. The impending COVID-19 protocols and travel restrictions resulted in Stanislaw finding it difficult to adhere well to the current state of how things are being managed while competing. Peter is expected to start for EG at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups series scheduled to start from September 16.

Daps who took up the coaching reigns at EG in June will step in for Stanislaw for the team’s fixtures at the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 14 where they have been drawn in Group C alongside Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, BIG, Mousesports, and Fnatic. This will be daps’ first official match since his retirement from CSGO as he represented NRG in Valorant for a brief period. 

Evil Geniuses will return back to action at the EPL Season 14 where they will lock horns with BIG in their Group opener on August 27. 

In a press release, stanislaw said:

Following our team’s long stint in Europe, along with mandatory quarantine requirements due to international travel, I’ve unfortunately not felt the positive impact of the player break as expected. Speaking honestly, I am not mentally ready for more international travel and competition.

Rather than overextending myself both mentally and physically, I plan to spend the next few weeks at home with the full expectation of rejoining my team in Europe in advance of BLAST Premier Fall. During this time I will be watching and cheering for the team as Daps steps into the active roster in my absence.

GROUP A

ASTRALIS

The first team to experiment with the concept of 6-man rosters, and the only one in the current landscape to continue with it added former Tricked AWPer Philip ‘Lucky’ Ewald to their roster and look to fill the gap that Mr. Dependable Nicolai “device” Reedtz left earlier in the year. The 4-time major champions announced that “lucky” would be an active part of the roster and we could see him in action as early as EPL S14.

Astralis showed they are capable of keeping up with the best still, with an impressive run at IEM Cologne, showcasing their old guard still has the hunger as well as the grit to do the impossible. With a dedicated AWPer finally on the roster and IGL “gla1ve” signed for another 3 years, the team can play their natural roles once again. And if the Cologne performance is anything to go by they aren’t looking to stop anytime soon.

HEROIC

Heroic overtook Astralis as the best Danish team at the start of the year, and they did so by winning Pro League S13 on the back of a truly heroic Casper “cadiaN” Moller. But dwindling performances in the tournaments that followed, as well as not being able to replicate the same vigour on LAN saw them drop down to 7th in the world rankings.

Disaster struck once again as Heroic had major issues within the team. As per their official statements their coach Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen had been sharing their strat-book with other teams, and blocked his OWN team from accessing it. This led to him being not allowed to travel with them to Cologne, and to his eventual dismissal in July. The team will look to defend their title, but without a Coach, it will be a tough nut to crack for the Danes.

GROUP B

COMPLEXITY

The Juggernaut is not what it once was. Starting off hot in 2020, and continuing the trend upwards for the first half of 2020, they peaked at #5 in the world. But the shock departure of “oBo” had disastrous after effects. Justin “jks” Savage was brought in, and a top 20 player in his own right, he had difficulty fitting in. With “poison” out with injury, they dropped out of the top 10 and very briefly managed to come back in early 2021, before falling to number 16.

They released long standing coach Jamie “keita” Hall and benched Will “RUSH” Wierzba following dismal runs at IEM Cologne, Blast Premier Spring Final and IEM Summer. They signed ex-Astralis and Cloud9 player Patrick “es3tag” Hansen and brought in Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu as coach.  The two new signings, as well as IGL Benjamin “blameF” Bremer once plied their trade at Heroic and will look to once again, take their team to greatness hoping for a playoff spot at the least for EPL S14.

GROUP C

FNATIC

Arguably the most successful org in Counter Strike, second only to the greatness of Astralis, fnatic was the team worst hit by the transition to the online era. A tournament win in their second online tournament made us believe that it wouldn’t be so bad after all but something worse was in store. Blasting out in last place in every Tier 1 tournament they played in was a HUGE worry for the legendary org, and they needed changes.

They benched IGL Maikil “Golden” Selim who was back for his second stint and AWPer Jesper “JW” Wecksell in June to revamp their roster. Having already signed “Jackinho” the team now sports an international roster, with former Vitality and C9 IGL Alex “ALEX” McMeekin and another Cloud9 graduate William “mezii” Merriman in the starting lineup. They too, should be looking for a playoff spot, but considering they are currently #60 in the world, it may seem like a far cry.

BIG CLAN

The only roster in tier 1 Counter Strike that did not make a roster move in the online era, finally needed a change of scenery after the first LAN in over 500 days. The German organization made the most out of the online era and was the best team in the world for 2 months in 2020, and a top 5 team in the first quarter of 2021. But results since then have been a disappointment, with no silverware this year and continuously getting outranked by better teams, it was time for change.

They go back to their roots of a German speaking lineup, with the addition of Nicklas “gade” Gade from the former North roster. This would somewhat take the load off of current IGL “tabseN” so he can truly frag out to the best of his ability, as “gade” has in-game led before and both of them can share the task. BIG are in group C, arguably the toughest one out of the four, with NAVI, mouseports, FaZe and EG all in their midst.

ESL Pro League season 14 starts a week from now, from August 16 with Group A matches taking place first from August 16-20th.

PUBG New State announces next phase of Alpha testing, registration starts from Aug 9

Krafton Inc. has announced the launch of a new PUBG title for the mobile devices under the name of “PUBG: New State”. It is the new Battle Royale developed by PUBG Studio, the company behind PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG). In PUBG: NEW STATE, 100 players will fight with various weapons and strategies until only one party remains.

Utilize gear, vehicles, and consumables to survive the shrinking battleground to become the “last man standing”. 

The game is expected to be released in October 2021. Today, Krafton took their social media handles to announce the next phase of alpha testing for PUBG: NEW STATE. The Alpha testing of the game will be available on both Android and IOS devices for the specified regions.

PUBG New State Alpha  Registrations will start on 9th August 2021. It will be the first time when the developers will be testing the game to a much wider audience and experience the new game.

Countries such as India, China, and Vietnam could not get access due to its region-specified game versions. Here is the complete list of regions that will get the access.

Once the players would pre-register for the 2nd phase testing. The game will be available to play and test from 27th – 29th August 2021. The developers have announced a list of  28 different regions across the world for the test, which include Turkey, the Middle East, Egypt, and Asia regions.

PUBG New State is expected to have some fancy new features including new rides, flying toys, and customizable guns. Being a futuristic-based mobile game, all players to excited for the second alpha test. We will get back to you with some more information.

According to a recent leak by ‘Sukuna’ on Twitter, the upcoming banner will feature Sayu, Diona and Xinyan as the 4-star characters alongside the highly anticipated 5-star pyro character Yoimiya.

The leak claims that the event banner will be named ‘Tapestry of the Golden Flames’ and will be released on August 10th. The 4-star characters in the banner are also expected to have boosted drop rates.

Global Esports qualify for VCC India Qualifiers 2 Grand Finals

Global Esports have qualified for the Valorant Conquerors Championship India Qualifier #2 Grand-Finals after beating T69 in the semi-finals with a scoreline of 2-1.

Velocity Gaming was crowned as the champions in the VCC Qualifiers #1 by defeating Global Esports with a scoreline of 3-2 in a best of 5 matchups. 

On the other hand, T69 showcased a great performance in these qualifiers and made their way into the semi-finals after defeating Reckoning Esports in the quarter-final.

Global Esports vs T60 Semi-Finals

The map veto began with Global Esports banning Haven and T69 removing Breeze. The first map pick was Icebox and Bind was chosen as the second map to be played. The final map of the series was Split which was picked by Global Esports.

The first map began with Global Esports getting the perfect start and winning the first half in their attack with eight rounds in their favor before the swap. The second half saw Global Esports not giving up a single round and closing out the map 13-4.

The Second map was Bind and it went down to the wire as both the teams put up a great fight and took it to overtime where T69 eventually closed out the map winning 15-13.

The final map of the series was Split, and Global Esports dominated the first half by winning nine rounds in their favor. The second half was the same story and Global Esports finally secured the map 13-4 and the series 2-1.

This win has taken Global Esports into yet another Grand Finals in the Valorant Conquerors Championship India Qualifiers. They will be facing the winners between Enigma Gaming and Team XO tomorrow. The match will be streamed on Nodwin Gaming‘s Youtube channel.

One of the most popular Twitch couples in xQc and Adept has broken up as a recently surfaced Twitch clip suggests.

From roommates to couples, an accidental slip-up from March 2021 made their relationship public which was tested later when they got into a fight over NoPixel drama. Their relationship wasn’t much of a talking point besides the NoPixel drama which is why no many details are available.

During a live stream, xQc’s comments on Adept hinted at the obvious. “Sammy left. I don’t want to talk it about that much,” he said. “Me and Sammy got into a little bit of a fight. It is what it is.”.

“I always tell you guys how I feel and what’s happening, it’s important to get stuff off my chest so I can focus,” he said. “Me and Sammy are apart. Please make an effort not to speculate and prod for answers. Most importantly, do not harass Adept, she will always have my respect.”

He later confirmed their breakup via Twitter but didn’t divulge any details. Being one of the most popular streamers would mean that his breakup would be in the limelight which he didn’t want so he kept it as brief as possible.

Adept is yet to break her silence but we don’t have anything to come from her side given her long-standing relationship has just gone into turmoil following a fight.
