Optic Gaming qualifies for VCT Masters Copenhagen; XSET faces FaZe Clan for the second spot

In the Upper Finals of Valorant Champions Tour NA Challengers Playoffs, Optic Gaming beat XSET to become the first NA representative at VCT Masters Copenhagen. Faze continued their successful lower bracket run in the lower rounds by defeating NRG Esports 2-1.

Optic Gaming is the defending Champions of VCT Masters Reykjavik and had a dominant performance in the VCT NA Challengers group stage, where they only lost one game to EG, coming into the playoffs as the top seed from Group B.

They played their opening match against EG in the playoffs, where they exacted revenge for the group stage loss winning the game 2-0. Yesterday, They faced XSET in the Upper Finals in a BO5 match-up.

On the first map of Haven, Optic’s map pick, Optic almost seemed dominant in the first half, winning 7 out of 10 rounds, but XSET managed to reset themselves, winning the next ten rounds to close the map 13-7 and taking Optic’s map choice.

XSET’s map choice of Icebox started with XSET’s attack finding holes in Optic’s defense where they won the first half 8-4. But on defense, XSET could not contain Optic gaming’s attack, and despite winning ten rounds first, they lost the game 11-13.

On Ascent, Optic’s map pick, XSET once again managed to suppress Optic’s attack and limited them to three rounds in the first half. But Optic put on a solid defense, only letting two rounds slip from their control to win the match 13-11.

On XSET’s map Breeze, Optic gaming easily shut down XSET’s attack, winning the first half 8-4. On the attack, Optic Gaming penetrated XSET defense easily to win the game 13-6 and the match 3-1, thus becoming the four-time representative of NA at an International event.

XSET, with the loss, would now compete in the lower bracket to stay in contention in VCT NA Challengers Playoffs.

In the Lower Round 3, NRG Esports took on Faze Clan. Faze Clan lost their opening game, then in the lower bracket, defeated Luminosity, 100 thieves, to face NRG esports for a chance at Lower Final. NRG esports started in the lower bracket and defeated Ghost Gaming and Evil Geniuses to reach Lower Round 3.

The match started on Icebox, NRG Esports’ map. Faze Clan on defense started strong with only letting NRG win two rounds out of the 12 rounds in the first half. NRG almost made a comeback in the second half with a score of 11-12 before the last round. Faze, though, managed to tear through NRG’s defense in the last round to win the map 13-11.

On Faze’s map Haven, NRG showed an absolute stronghold on defense, winning teh first seven rounds, but Faze managed to scrap four out of the last five rounds. With the lead in the second half, NRG ran away with the game 13-8.

On Ascent, Faze Clan again managed to tear down NRG’s defense, winning the first half 10-2. With the massive advantage, Faze closed the game 13-8 to win the match 2-1.

Faze now faces XSET in the lower bracket finals for the second VCT Masters Copenhagen slot, and the winner reaches the finals of VCT NA Challengers to meet Optic Gaming.

The Lower Bracket final would start today at 20:00 GMT, be a BO5 and give us the second NA representative for VCT masters Copenhagen.

FPX Defeats M3C to become third EMEA representative at VCT Masters Copenhagen, Fnatic becomes finalists

Yesterday at Valorant Champions Tour EMEA Challengers FunPlus Phoenix defeated M3 Champions to become the third and final EMEA team at Valorant Masters Copenhagen. In the Upper Final, Fnatic defeated Guild Esports to guarantee a top 2 seeding.

FunPlus Phoenix started its VCT EMEA journey strong, where they beat all the other teams except Fnatic and Ascend, the top 2 seeds coming into playoffs. In the Playoffs, they faced Team Liquid, and after a gruesome game of Valorant, they finally managed to beat Team Liquid.

In the upper semifinals, they again faced Fnatic and, after an OT victory in the second map, avoided 0-2. In the third map, a comeback was looking possible, but Fnatic managed to hold on, winning the game 2-1. With this, FPX was now forced into the lower bracket.

FPX, facing elimination, took revenge for the group stage loss against Ascent, winning the game 2-1 to meet M3 Champions at the Lower Round 2 for a chance of Masters Copenhagen Qualification.

In the first map of Ascent, chosen by FPX, Both teams seemed equally matched, going blow to blow, but towards the end, FPX managed to close out the series 13-11, despite being 9-11 down.

Breeze started similarly, where FPX did get a round advantage in the first half ending the half 7-5, but on defense, FPX could not suppress M3C’s attacks, only winning two rounds before succumbing to M3C 9-13

Anti-climatically, the Fracture wasn’t as close at all, FPX on defense shutting down M3C to close the half 10-2 and eventually winning the second half 3-2 to win the map 13-4 and the game 2-1. Thus qualifying for VCT Masters Copenhagen.

This was supposed to be FPX’s second International Event, but unfortunately, they couldn’t attend last time due to VISA issues. They would ensure they perform their best to compensate for the lost chance. FPX would now face Guild for seeding.

Fnatic, who already qualified, faced Guild yesterday, where they continued their dominant performance. They have only dropped three maps in the tournament and have been undefeated. They continued their streak while facing Guild, where after a tied first half on the first map Bind, Fnatic managed to win easily in the second half closing the map 13-9.

On Haven, Guild’s Map pick, Fnatic managed to close down Guild’s attack to win the half 8-4. In the second half, Guild managed to come back, but Fnatic displayed composure to close out the game 13-11, winning the match 2-0.

Now guaranteed a top-two seed, Fnatic would come with their best game in the finals and skip the Group Stage at VCT Masters Copenhagen. They are a team that thrives on preparation and would want that extra time to prepare for all the Masters’ teams.

The VCT EMEA Challengers Playoffs Finals will conclude on the 26th of June. Despite getting all the representatives from EMEA, the remaining matches would be crucial for seeding. With Guild facing FPX today, the winner of the series would face Fnatic tomorrow in the finals.

Valorant Mobile Beta Testing To Start Soon?

Valorant is a 5v5 tactical shooter launched in June 2020 and has since taken the world by storm. Riot’s IP has been beloved by casuals and competitors, with around 15 Million Daily Active Users. The game has garnered some attention and was one of the most-watched categories on Twitch.

With success, It was obvious that Riot would try to increase its reach further. One such way to do this is introducing a mobile version of the games, Which Riot has already done for League, TFT and some of its IPs. So back on its first anniversary, Riot announced the development of Valorant Mobile.

The Mobile Gaming Industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, with Games like PUBG Mobile and Wild Rift taking the world by storm. The numbers of Mobile Gaming have been astronomical, with even Fortnite introducing a Mobile Version.

The growth is probably because of the mobility and ease of access while playing mobile games. The hardware requirement and space requirement are much less when compared to a PC setup making mobile gaming an easily available option.

For tournament organisers, too, Setting up a tournament for Mobile Gaming is much easier than setting it up for PC. It also costs less money and fewer resources in general. Making it a fiscally superior choice to PC gaming. And it makes sense why more developers develop mobile versions of the game.

After announcing the development of Valorant mobile, There haven’t been many talks about it, neither news nor updates and Riot has chosen absolute radio silence about the topic. This was similar in Valorant, too, when Riot launched the Beta in April of 2020.

But last night, the @just4leaks Twitter account leaked that Riot would start Beta testing Valorant mobile shortly in a few countries. A pattern followed by Riot previously before the launch of Valorant. It was suspected that Riot is Alpha testing Valorant Mobile in China, and if the leak is confirmed, we can expect Valorant Mobile’s launch by this year.

As of now, nothing is concrete yet, and the dates are subjected to change, but this shows a glimmer of hope to all the people waiting for Valorant Mobile. Especially those who can’t play Valorant because of restrictions.

Team Secret and Alter Ego’s Victories in VCT APAC Demolish Global Esports and India’s LCQ Dream

Global Esports has been the Indian Representative in the APAC Region three times with their latest Stint Ending in Failure. Though they have been a consistent force in South Asia and India, they have had a rough time closing the matches in the APAC region tournaments.

After winning the Valorant Conquerors Championship over Velocity Gaming, their eternal rivals, Global Esports, became the first team to represent India in the Valorant Official Tournament. The tournament started well for Global Esports, where they defeated Korean Damwon Gaming 2-1.

While facing Paper Rex, They faltered, lost to them 0-2 and were pushed into the lower bracket. In the lower bracket, they faced F4Q, who were fresh off their Masters Berlin chronicles, and despite the strong performance, lost to F4Q 1-2 with the last map ending on 12-14.

For Masters Reykjavik Qualification, along with Velocity Gaming, Global Esports represented India in APAC Challengers. Being the second seed, they had to play in the Play-In stage, were lost to Griffin Esports, and Fancy United concluded their tournament run.

For the current VCT APAC Challengers, they qualified by winning the Skyesports Championship Series by beating Enigma Gaming. But in the Group Stage, they fell to Indonesian Alter Ego in their opening game and, despite a strong performance, lost to Filipino Rex Regum Qeon, ending their tournament run.

As for LCQ, Global Esports were in the 10th position, But the Filipino Team Secret’s wins in the group stage and the playoffs pushed them to the 11th position.

Team Secret is a Filipino team and has been one of the best teams in APAC. The Roster was the APAC representative in Masters Berlin and Valorant Champions 2021. But after an early tournament exit from stage 1 Challengers, Team Secret failed to gather many points and was

short of a few points to qualify.

The came in the VCT APAC Challengers as the top seed and managed to pull off a great lower bracket run in the group stage after losing to Bleed to qualify for the Playoffs. In the playoffs, after winning against Xerxia and Onic G are one win short of Qualifying for VCT Masters Copenhagen.

Alter Ego defeated Global Esports and RRQ to qualify for the playoffs. After losing to Paper Rex, they defeated Griffin Esports, gaining enough points to become the 9th and final team to qualify for the VCT LCQ over Global Esports.

Alter Ego would face Onic G tomorrow in the Lower Round 2 for a shot at Lower Bracket Semifinals and would try to win. Team Secret faces Paper Rex tomorrow for the VCT Masters Copenhagen slot.

As for the future of Global Esports, they have already applied for Valorant Franchising and would play the next tournament in India at Skyesports Souvenier Series Hyderabad.

The VCT APAC Challengers would conclude on the 26th, where we would get the two APAC representatives for VCT Masters Copenhagen.

Genshin Impact Yelan: Abilities, Elemental Skill, Weapon, and More

The Genshin Impact 2.7 patch has brought with it a plethora of new content to the open-world action RPG by miHoYo. However, what players of the title were looking forward to the most was perhaps the new Genshin Impact character Yelan. She’s one of the strongest ranged characters in the game and can certainly pack a punch when it comes to combat.

Yelan is a 5-star character in Genshin Impact and uses a bow to take down her enemies in battle. She had been teased several times prior to her arrival in the game.

Genshin Impact Yelan Attacks

Yelan’s bow is capable of dealing significant amounts of damage to her foes from afar. Here are Yelan’s attacks in Genshin Impact:

  • Normal Attack: Yelan performs up to four consecutive shots with her bow.
  • Charged Attack: Yelan performs a precise Aimed Shot that has increased DMG. While aiming, flowing water will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged torrential arrow will deal Hydro DMG.
  • Breakthrough: Yelan will enter a “Breakthrough’ state after spending 5s out of combat, which will cause her next Charged Aimed Shot to have 80% decreased charge time, and once charged, she can fire a “Breakthrough Barb” that will deal AoE Hydro DMG based on Yelan’s Max HP.
  • Plunging Attack: Yelan fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Genshin Impact Yelan Elemental Skill

  • Lingering Lifeline: Yelan fires off a Lifeline that allows her to move rapidly, entangling and marking opponents along its path. When this rapid movement ends, the Lifeline will explode, dealing Hydro DMG to the marked opponents based on Yelan’s Max HP.
  • Depth-Clarion Dice: Yelan deals AoE Hydro DMG and creates an “Exquisite Throw,” which aids her in battle.
  • Exquisite Throw: Follows the character around and will initiate a coordinated attack under the following circumstances, dealing Hydro DMG based on Yelan’s Max HP:

[ Can occur once every second when your active character uses a Normal Attack. ]

[ Will occur each time Yelan’s Lifeline explodes and hits opponents. ]

Axie Infinity Origin: How To Play

The rise of Cryptocurrency has given birth to a number of applications that are based on blockchain technology. One such application of blockchain technology is Blockchain Gaming.

Blockchain Gaming is generally based on two principles i.e. NFTs and P2E. In simple words, Blockchain Games generate income for its players via NFTs which can then be traded via the in-game network for a special token that can be traded publicly on crypto-exchanges for real-world currency.

Sky Mavis, the company behind the most popular blockchain game Axis Infinity was the first to master the art of Blockchain Gaming and has since grown its audience by hundreds of thousands.

The game peaked with 2.7 Million daily active users back in July 2021. Now the company writes a new page on its journey with the evolution of its 1st gen game Axie Infinity to Axie Infinity Origins.

Origins is built upon the success of Axie Infinity and retain most of its features while adding new features on top of old ones. Origin has new interfaces, battle mechanics, art, special effects, and storylines, plus a refreshed onboarding experience so you can easily recruit your family and friends.

Similar to its predecessor, Origins is based on the Ethereum blockchain with a system for players to control their virtual assets and rewards via the Ronin sidechain, which helps reduce transaction costs and latency.

The focus remains the same i.e. bred Axies to create potentially rarer and more powerful Axies which can then be sold on the in-game market for real-world currency.

Aside from breeding new Axies, players can also battle against computers or other players to earn Smooth Love Potions (SLP) and in higher-level tournaments, earn Axie Infinity Shards (AXS). These digital tokens can be traded for cryptocurrency which in turn can be converted into fiat currency via Ronin Wallet.

There are two game modes available for players in Axie Infinity:

Adventure Mode

The adventure mode is Player Versus Environment (PVE). Players must battle monsters on each of the 36 stages in PVE. Smooth Love Potion (SLP)  and experience will be given to them at each step, which in turn can be used to level-up Axies.

Arena Mode

The arena mode is Player Versus Player (PVP). Similar to other multiplayer versus games, in arena mode, you fight against another player who is mostly of similar rank as you or just a bit above or below in ranking.

On victory, you get SLP or in some cases, such as tournaments you earn Axie Infinity Shards (AXS).

Aside from the above two modes, you get a daily quest every day that may reward you with 50 SLP as a bonus. This free SLP may be obtained by winning 5 times in PVP and 10 times in PVE. Players may earn a maximum of 100 SLP every day in PVE for a total of 150 SLP every day.

How to get started with Axie Infinity Origins?

Follow the steps below to get started with Axie Infinity:

1. Get an Ethereum Wallet

2. Create a Ronin Wallet

3. Create an Account on Axie Infinity here

4. Connect Your Email Account or Ronin Wallet

5. Download and create a Metamask account

6. Connect your Metamask account with your Axie Infinity account at the marketplace

7. Purchase Axies if you want or just skip this step

8. Install the game and start your adventure

In Origins you start with three base Axies that are not NFT enabled. These are called personal Axies and can’t be traded or bred. You can replace them anytime in your journey with a new Axie purchased from the marketplace.
