Skyesports is back with another major tournament in India. SkyEsports League 2020 will be the largest Valorant tournament in South Asia till date in terms of prize pool.

This esports tournament will be based on city vs city model, similar to Valorant Sky Showdown, and it will be the first ever premier league for esports in India. The initial phase of this league based themed format was followed in Sky Showdown and it was a huge success.

This league format was first seen in Valorant Sky Showdown and its popularity soared. The tournament reached a landmark to become the biggest Valorant tournament in South Asia in terms of viewership.

SkyEsports League 2020 details:

SkyEsports League 2020 will have 8 teams representing various prominent cities in India. These city-based teams will fight against each other to get the lion’s share of ₹10,00,000 prize pool. The amount of prize pool has been multiplied several times for this tournament as compared to previous SkyEsports Valorant events.

The teams will be distributed as follows:

  • Team Mumbai: Scout, Thug, Mortal, Rebel and Zeref
  • Team Bengaluru – Global Esports
  • Team Hyderabad: Velocity Gaming
  • Team Chennai: MidFail and Team Tamilas
  • Team Punjab: HydraFlick and roster
  • Team Rajasthan: TSM Ghatak and team
  • Team Delhi : Noble Psy and squad

Skyesports plans to make this format into a franchise-based premier league in India for the first time and this will be a major step forward for esports in India.

This tournament will have the highest prize pool for any Valorant tournament in South Asia so far and ₹10,00,000 will be at the stake. The prize pool breakdown will be as follows:

  • 1st Prize: 400,000
  • 2nd Prize: 250,000
  • 3rd Prie: 100,000
  • 4th Prize: 50,000
  • 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th: 25,000 each team

The MVP and Star Player of this tournament will get ₹50,000 respectively as a token of their valuable output.

Tournament Format

SkyEsports League 2020 will be played through online qualifiers in a round-robin format. Each team will play two matches against other cities and every one will play twice. It is important to note that Valorant has officially supported the tournament through their social media handles.
