Skyesports announce detailed format for Valorant Championship and Valorant Sky Showdown

Skyesports have announced the schedule and detailed format for the Valorant part of Skyesports Championship 2.0.

The Valorant title will feature two events – Valorant Championship and Valorant Sky Showdown.

Valorant Sky Showdown will be an IPL themed city based invitational with prominent Indian personalities set to feature.

The nomenclature resembles the famous cricket event Indian Premier League, with Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Punjab, Delhi, Kolkata and Rajasthan the selected franchises.

So far, popular organisations like Global Esports, Orange Rock and Team Tamilas will lead the battle for Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai respectively while individual personalities like Thug and Nemo have been confirmed as leaders for Mumbai and Kolkata respectively. The representatives/leaders for Delhi and Rajasthan are yet to be announced.

The showdown will be conducted over the span of two days, with the 8 teams battling it out in a double elimination format for the lion’s share of a 100,000 INR prizepool along with HyperX reward for the MVP.

The standardized Valorant event for Skyesports Championship 2.0 will be an open for all; free for all 256-team tournament featuring a single elimination format through and through.

The initial phase would be a Qualifier to determine the top 8 teams from the 256. The qualified teams will then play two phases of the Valorant event featuring a 50,000 INR prizepool per phase. The phases will be independent of each other and could be considered two separate mini events.

This event will also feature an MVP award from HyperX, with the player to be selected based on his overall performance from the two phases.

All in all, Skyesports promise the best of both worlds; for the Valorant enthusiasts and aspirants, a chance to test their mettle against the best of the best; and for the neutrals, a chance to see their beloved personalities and names in action on the servers.
