Resident Evil Village PC requirements revealed

Resident Evil Village’s Steam page has been updated with both minimum and recommended system requirements for both low and high-end systems ahead of its release on May 7, 2021.

Given RE Engine’s track record, the game doesn’t seem to be too demanding and seems to be accessible to owners of various configurations. Given how Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 & 3 Remake, and Devil May Cry 5 ran fairly well on all sorts of systems

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (1080p 60fps at “Performance Settings”) / No Ray-Tracing

OS: Windows 10 64 bit

CPU: Intel Core i5-7500
AMD Ryzen 3 1200

RAM: 8GB

GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti / AMD Radeon RX 560

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS: (1080p 60fps “Quality Settings”) / Ray Tracing Enabled

OS: Windows 10 64 bit (Version 2004)

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700
AMD Ryzen 5 3600

RAM: 16GB

GPU : (Ray Tracing disabled)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 5700

(Ray Tracing Enabled)

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (4K/ 45 FPS)

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (4K/ 60 FPS)

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (4K/ 45 FPS)

AMD Radeon RX 6800 (4K/ 45 FPS)

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (4K/ 60 FPS)

If the requirements are anything to go by, the ray-tracing support will be fairly limited given how an RTX 2070 will presumably run the game at 4K 45FPS with Ray Tracing on, which is a welcome surprise considering that the turing card was a first-generation Ray Tracing GPU that released two years ago. What’s interesting to note here is that Capcom hasn’t really recommended Ray Tracing for the RTX 2060 unless you prefer playing on mixed visual settings with Ray Tracing on. They have also added an additional note stating that “the frame rates may decrease” under heavy load, which makes sense given how Ray Tracing is quite taxing on most modern hardware.

Resident Evil Village is available for pre-order on Steam.
