Only a few days have passed since the global release of Phantom Blade Zero on October 29, and it continues to send shockwaves throughout the gaming community. The martial arts action RPG from S-Game has cemented its position as one of the biggest PC launches of the year, hitting a concurrent player peak of over 775,000 on Steam as per Steam Charts.
It didn’t take long for the highly anticipated title to explode on the Steam charts, as it crossed the half-million mark within roughly ten hours of release, but the climb didn’t stop there. Within its first 24 hours, it had already hit a peak of more than 723,000 concurrent players. A couple of days later, it has managed to push past a whopping 775,000 active players, putting it among the most-played games to appear on the platform this year.
With this milestone, Phantom Blade Zero became Steam’s most-played single-player title of 2026, overtaking Resident Evil Requiem, which had hit a peak of 344,214 players.
As a result of its huge surge in popularity, Phantom Blade Zero is also dominating the sales charts. It currently sits at #1 on Steam’s Top Sellers list, and it had secured the spot ahead of launch, surpassing juggernauts like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

The game’s reception has also been pretty warm within the community. It is currently sitting at a Very Positive rating on Steam, and while some complaints have surfaced here and there, the majority of gamers seem to be enjoying it. Word of mouth tends to matter most for demanding action games, and the early response suggests players are sticking around.
Note that the aforementioned figures only cover Steam. The game is also available to play on PS5, as well as the Epic Games Store, so its total audience is considerably larger than the Steam charts show. Also, concurrent player peaks only measure how many people are playing at once at any given time, not how many copies have sold, so the true sales figure is much higher.
As we head into the first weekend since the game’s launch, there’s potential to push the numbers up further. For now, Phantom Blade Zero has established itself as a major hit for Chinese game development and a serious contender for the biggest single-player launch of the year.
