Na’Vi claim No.1 spot in HLTV’s CSGO world rankings

Na’Vi have returned to the top of the World Rankings 4 years after being overthrown by Luminosity.

According to the latest HLTV rankings, CIS organization Natus Vincere has topped the leader boards overhauling the Danes who are now ranked second. Natus Vincere was able to achieve this foot after they crushed the French side G2 Esports in the Grand final of the IEM Katowice 2020 notably winning the first Masters ESL Pro Tour event of the year. Na’Vi are now on the top of the table with 853 points while Astralis sits at second with 847 points.

Astralis did held to the #1 ranking spot for a brief period from April 2018 to June 2019 where they won 3 successive majors at London in 2018, Katowice in 2019 followed by the StarLadder Major in the same year itself. But they couldn’t defend their spot as the North American side Team Liquid did succeed to dethrone them after their successful run at IEM Chicago 2019 and ESL Pro League Season 9 finals where they dismantled G2 Esports to win the title at Montpellier, France.

This is the second time Natus Vincere has fetched itself the #1 spot in the HLTV rankings since the first time in April 2016 following two runners -up positions at DreamHack Masters Malmö and in the MLG Columbus Major. But their happiness was short-lived as Team Luminosity did surpass them on the board after they did notch up their first major title at Columbus which is mentioned above. At the moment the Russian giants are now dominating the Danish side Astralis as they were eliminated by the former at the BLAST Premier Spring Series and IEM Katowice 2020 as well where they were thrashed 2-0 in the semifinals. We will soon be witnessing these two sides lock horns in the ESL’s brand new Pro League season 11 which is all decked up to start from the 16th of March and onwards.
