Mirage becomes the most played map till date in CS:GO history

Mirage has been adjudged as the most played Map in the scene with 15,790 games played till date.

For the players who have been playing Counter-Strike:Global Offensive since years, Mirage has been proven as a cult classic map for them. It’s one of the indispensable maps, and it’s been around for a long time, which has since then seen multiple versions across all of the Counter-Strike games.

While Mirage was added later to CS: GO, following on from the addition of Dust 2 and Train, it’s still one of the most played maps in the game. It’s been in the Active Duty map group for quite some time now and all indicators show that it’s going to stay that there for a long time. Players across the globe love this map as it’s layout does favor some tactical plays followed by a lot of different map points which could give players the edge.

Earlier In January, we saw multiple changes that were inculcated on this map among which was the addition of a bench in the Middle which is depicted by the image above. This map is considered to favor the Counter-Terrorist side but this doesn’t completely give up the chances for the Terrorists to win.

In addition, Dust2 has been the one among the map pool which has been carried over from CS 1.6 and been culminated in CS: GO’s map pool, it has failed to attract the player base with just 8,269 matches played till date. If we look into the records of the listed maps by HLTV.org we can witness Mirage take an unassailable lead of over 15,000+ games which has lead the dominance over other maps in the Active duty pool as recorded by HLTV. Alongside these statistics, we have seen Nuke (6,398), Inferno (12,842), and Dust 2 who have been in the heat but could never overshadow Mirage.

Mirage has been the only map to feature in every major map pool but still falls behind Inferno which does hold a record of 730 matches which were played in all big events like the Majors and other LAN tournaments making Mirage go shy by just 15 games.
