Meet COD Mobile: A New Challenger for PUBG-M from Activision

With the introduction of cheap and powerful smartphones able to run demanding mobile games easily without sweat, the mobile gaming market saw rapid growth and more people started playing on mobile. With mobile gaming on rise, many big-time publishers are trying to break into this market.

In a similar fashion, Activision the publisher behind the famous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Black Ops games is set to release a free 2 play mobile version of Call of Duty named Call of Duty: Mobile available on both Android and iOS.

Call of Duty: Mobile will be standalone mobile title that features a collection of fan-favourite maps (including Nuketown), competitive game modes, familiar characters and signature weapons from across franchises, including Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

On Monday the official Call of Duty YouTube channel released a teaser video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a42gXZQ-eII) for the upcoming mobile game.

What’s in it for us?

Just like in the PC market where every publisher is releasing a Battle Royale game trying to stay relevant, mobile gaming is also set to see some of these publishers releasing mobile versions of their popular franchises.  As a consumer we will getting more game options to play and more competition among these companies to retain more players.

Activision is one of those big publisher’s coming in after Epic ( Fortnite Mobile) and PubG Corp. ( PubG: Mobile). The pre-registration of Call of  Duty: Mobile is open right now on Google Play and the game is set to release later this year, with no release date as of now.
