Jonathan’s TAG Moves Into EA FC Mobile, Signing DeMYSTeRIO and HaloZeus

Team Apex Gaming have signed HaloZeus and creator DeMYSTeRIO for EA Sports FC Mobile, the latest move into a new game for Jonathan's organisation.

Team Apex Gaming have moved into EA Sports FC Mobile, signing HaloZeus and DeMYSTeRIO as the organisation’s first players in the football game. TAG announced the pair on X at around 8:05 pm IST on 7 November, calling them “the dynamic duo for EA FC Mobile”. The announcement graphic shows both players in TAG’s Kick-branded shirts, under the FC Mobile logo. It is the latest expansion for the Indian organisation that Jonathan launched less than seven months ago.

The signing also capped a busy day for the organisation. TAG posted its cryptic “national treasure” chess teaser that morning, and as we explored earlier, almost every clue points to Vidit Gujrathi. The FC Mobile announcement did not mention chess, however, and TAG had still not named its chess player by the time the duo were revealed. The two moves together show an organisation that is now spreading well beyond its BGMI roots.

Who are HaloZeus and DeMYSTeRIO?

DeMYSTeRIO is the bigger name of the two, and one of the best-known FC Mobile creators in India. His YouTube channel has around 335,000 subscribers, where he streams almost daily and posts tutorials, team reviews and formation guides. EA featured him in its Creator Spotlight series, describing him as one of the most popular FC Mobile content creators from India. In that profile, he said he started playing in 2019, when he got his first mobile phone. He also runs a Discord community where FC Mobile players share their squads and ask him for team reviews.

He has also built a competitive record alongside his content. In June 2025, he travelled to the FC Mobile Festival in Bangkok, which he described in a YouTube video as the first time an Indian had represented the country at an FC Mobile esports event. Last month, he posted another video titled “I Became the FC Mobile Champion at Gaming Con!”, days after GamingCon Bharat 2026 in Mumbai. The convention ran on 17 and 18 October, and Ampverse hosted an EA Sports FC Mobile 27 activation there.

HaloZeus has a lower public profile but makes strong claims about his own level. His X bio describes him as the number one Indian player of 2022/23 and a top 50 player globally. It also calls him a budding content creator, so he arrives at TAG with an audience-building plan of his own. TalkEsport has not been able to verify those rankings independently, and TAG did not add details about either player’s achievements in its announcement.

Why EA FC Mobile fits Team Apex Gaming’s expansion

TAG has grown quickly since Jonathan launched the organisation on 12 April, shortly after leaving GodLike. It started with BGMI before adding Free Fire, and that team is currently competing at the Free Fire World Series Global Finals. TAG said it started Saturday’s second day of the finals with a Booyah, after finishing the first day in 15th place. Its commercial side has moved just as fast, with Kick signing on in September and Red Bull India following in October.

Jonathan’s own reach remains the engine behind that growth. He passed 8 million YouTube subscribers this week, which keeps him among the most-followed esports creators in India. Adding DeMYSTeRIO now gives TAG a second creator with a six-figure audience of his own, in a game far removed from battle royale.

EA’s football games are also drawing more interest from Indian organisations. Earlier this week, RNTX made its own move into the series by signing Vanshaj Sharma ahead of an FC Pro qualifier in London. EA has been building its grassroots presence too, having partnered with College Rivals for its fourth season of campus esports in August. For TAG, a creator with more than 300,000 subscribers also brings an audience that fits neatly alongside Jonathan’s own.

The appeal for TAG is as much about content as competition, since the organisation grew out of Jonathan’s own creator brand. Both new signings already make FC Mobile videos for their own audiences, which gives TAG a ready-made channel into a new player base. TAG has not yet said which FC Mobile tournaments the pair will play first, or whether more players will join them. The announcement had collected more than 170 likes on X within 40 minutes of going live.
