Ana retires DotA 2 roster, OG welcomes ‘King’ SumaiL

OG on Tuesday announced that Anathan “ana” Pham, their star player who drove them to consecutive The International (TI) titles, has resigned from playing cutthroat Dota 2. Reflective of the departure of a player, OG welcomed Sumail ‘SumaiL’ Hassan in a grand fashion, labeling him the ‘king.’

Prior to this announcement retirement, Ana got back to OG’s dynamic list back in April for Season 2 of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC). OG, however, failed to fit the bill for the as of late closed WePlay AniMajor and consequently couldn’t secure an invite to Valve’s DotA 2 Major – The International 10 (TI10) in Stockholm, Sweden, later this year.

To change the approach, OG has roped in SumaiL, The International winning crew for the TI10 Western Europe qualifiers. SumaiL originally played for OG last January, coming full circle in a seven-month spell where the organization’s best outcome was another participant’s situation at ESL One Los Angeles 2020.

JMR Luna, CEO of OG Esports said, “Sumail has always been one of my favorite teammates and players. We are thrilled to have him back and I’m personally delighted to have him back in OG”.
