Astralis maintains the top spot for a year

The latest HLTV Rankings have confirmed that Astralis have maintained their top spot for a whole year without being displaced- with an unassailable lead of over 400 points over NA rivals Liquid.

The 22nd April ranking update- which put the Danish side at 1000 points, confirmed the long-standing belief of the dominance of Astralis in this era, which has seen them win 15 of the 22 premier events they attended.

After the addition of Magisk in early 2018, there was scepticism whether he would be able to live up to his potential in a team like Astralis. But any initial doubts of the move were dispelled after a monstrous second half of the year- which saw them win the Intel Grand Slam Title and $1 million, having won 4 of the 10 Intel sponsored events which included ESL and Dreamhack tournaments.

Perhaps what was the most satisfying for the squad, was the fact that they won back to back Majors at London and Katowice which had put them in the history books. Their absolute ruthlessness was in doubt at Blast Pro Series Miami recently, but that is seen as just a blip in an otherwise dominant era.
