Asian Games 2026 Esports Medal Table: How Many Medals Has India Won?

Esports is back on the Asian Games programme in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with 11 medal events across 13 games at the Aichi Sky Expo. India has sent a 15-member squad to compete in the event across four games, namely eFootball, Puyo Puyo Champions, Pokemon Unite, and League of Legends. With most of the events now decided, the question for Indian fans is how many medals the country has to show for it.

How Many Medals Has India Won at the Asian Games 2026 Esports Events?

So far, India has not won any medals at esports events in the Asian Games 2026. India is not on the esports medal table, despite three of its four campaigns having already ended.

The eFootball exit was the most painful for India. Despite India not losing a match, it still didn’t manage to qualify.

For the unaware, India’s Danial Patel (mobile) and Chinmay Sahoo (console) were drawn into Group F, which had three teams including India, Uzbekistan and Mongolia. Their opening game against Uzbekistan finished 0-0. Uzbekistan then went on to beat Mongolia on both platforms, by 6-3 and 12-0, which put their goal difference at +15. India would have needed an enormous win over Mongolia to catch them.

However, during the India vs Mongolia game, Mongolia’s team leader reached check-in three minutes after the deadline. Under the tournament rules, that meant the match was not played and India was handed the win by default, recorded as 0-0. The three points helped, but the scoreline did nothing for India’s goal difference, which stayed at zero. India ended on four points in second place, while Uzbekistan took the group on goal difference, and India missed the quarter-finals.

In Pokémon UNITE, India failed to reach the knockout stage, and Japan beat Indonesia in the final. India’s solo Puyo Puyo Champions entry also finished without a medal, while Japan’s Kurihara Yuki won gold.

One hope remains for India. Its League of Legends team, drawn from S8UL Esports and captained by Akshaj Shenoy, is still in the running. It plays in Group B with South Korea, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong, with matches on September 29 and 30. The top two teams from each group reach the semi-finals on October 1, and the gold medal match is on October 2.
