Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is one of the PS Plus October 2026 games. The most common questions about it are about multiplayer: does it have cross-play, and how do co-op and split screen work?

Does EDF World Brothers 2 have cross-play?

The official PlayStation Store listing doesn’t mention cross-play. That means PS4 and PS5 players can’t play with people on PC (Steam) or Nintendo Switch.

How online co-op works

In online co-op, each player brings their own team of characters. The game has more than 100 collectible characters and more than 600 weapons and accessories. You pick a team of four and take on more than 100 missions against giant enemies. You’ll need an active PS Plus membership to play online on PlayStation.

PS4 and PS5 versions

When you claim the game through PS Plus, you get both the PS4 and PS5 versions. The PS5 version supports DualSense vibration and Game Help. Both versions support Remote Play.

Online co-op needs PSN to be working, so if you can’t connect, first check whether the PlayStation Network is down. Claim the game before November 2 to keep it in your library. With Sony moving away from disc games, monthly claims are one of the main ways to build a digital library. PS Plus members have also had other free perks recently, such as the Valorant PS Plus bundle.
