Map 1: Ancient (Pick: Wasted Potential, Winner: Only Friends, Final Score: 16:4)

Only Friends opened their match-up, coming out with all of their guns blazing to go up 5-0 on Ancient. It was KiiLSwitch who scored the fifth round straight for Only Friends after denying the CT’s a defuse by converting a 1v3.

Despite getting the next round in their bags, Wasted Potential failed to convert their momentum as their reinforcements further crumbled into the hands of Only Friends with the deadly duo of Crazy_gamer and Ph1NNN wrecking some serious havoc. The first half ended 13-2 in the favor of Only Friends after MunchkinCara and V3nom were able to sneak the second round for their team from Ts.

Coming from the break, destitute and listless, it just added to the woes of Wasted Potential as they were only able to secure 2 rounds on their attack, giving away their own map pick 16-4.

Map 2: Inferno (Pick: Only Friends, Winner: Only Friends, Final Score: 16:12)

Inferno was clearly a carbon copy of how things started on Ancient with clouda and company initially settling into the map with a comfortable lead of 5-0. It was V3Nom and AR7 who set the pace for Wasted Potential as they set up the rhythm for their team as they were able to win straight 7 rounds on their offense and close out the first half 8-7 in their favor.

The second half saw both the teams trade rounds back and forth thanks to 3vilpr1nc3 and his valiant efforts to keep his team in contention and a bid to force the decider over Only Friends. The latter conceded just 12 rounds as the scoreboard suggested as Ph1NNN and reV3nnnn stole the spotlight right under the nose of Wasted Potential as Only Friends comfortably cruised to series point and victory with the final score of 16-12.

Wasted Potential now awaits the losers of the FIREDUP-Gaming and IKARI as they now play the elimination match in order to stay alive in the tournament.

As discussed, 8 teams were directly invited to the tournament based on their previous results in the scene, as also mentioned above. The prize pool is yet to be announced by the tournament organizer and will be updated as soon as TalkEsport is nudged about. FIREDUP-Gaming will take on IKARI on the Day 2 opener followed by RDX facing SlowAimers.

Teams will play out each other in a double elimination bracket with all the match-ups to be Best of 3s. You can catch the live action on AA’s YouTube, Glance, and Rooter channels and on their Facebook Page.
