ESL One Cologne 2016 is around the corner and the list of participating teams are now finalized. With Valve, giving opportunities to the underdogs from CSGO Minors in different regions, there were lots of teams with promising performance over at the ESL One Cologne offline qualifiers.

The main event will run from 5th to 10th of July, the group stages will be played in a different location, on LAN though, and the major play-offs will be hosted infront of thousands of offline crowd and millions of online fans watching the action live on ESL Twitch. The playoffs will take place on Stage in LANXESS Arena.

List of Teams

The list of participating teams are from two sets, qualified teams and legends (invited).

Legends – Natus Vincere, Luminosity Gaming, fnatic, Liquid, CLG, Virtus.Pro, Astralis and NiP, whereas,
Challengers – mousesports, FaZe, OpTiC, EnVyUs, Gambit, Dignitas, Flipsid3, G2

The Format

The format of the game will be pretty simple. Four groups will be drawn each having four teams. Two teams from each groups will be advancing to play-offs. The first set of matches will be played in a best-of-one format whereas, the decider matches will be best-of-three.

Eventually, the eight-world-best teams will be competing in front of a crowd in the LANXESS arena. The advanced teams will face-off in a single elimination bracket, each match consisting of a best-of-three series to draw out the winners and takers of the million dollar prize pool and a Major champion title holder.

G2 fills the spot of Challengers at ESL One Colonge 2016 over C9

G2. Esports beats Cloud9 to become the final team from the ESL One Colonge Main qualifiers to be at the ESL One Colonge Major 2016.

The head-to-head battle between G2 and Cloud9 have always been nasty for Cloud9 as they’ve been losing constantly to the Frenchmen and have now been scored to a 1-6 over G2.Esports.

G2. SHOX

With the latest introduction of the Swiss format, where the first three-map winners get qualified and loosers go home, G2. Esports’s massive performance lead the team to victory and they’ll be playing alongside the likes of Challengers and ofcourse the CS:GO legends.

G2’s recent performance has boosted the morale of the team and the organization as a whole since they’ve been subsequent in terms of their gameplay and consistency, with such an adequate leadership by Shox backed by ScreaM’s filthy one-taps, G2. may as well surprise us at the Majors by beating some of the world-class teams when we see them in the next month at Colonge.

Although Shox and n0thing has been present in all the previous majors played, the record goes broken as Jordan and co. will not be taking part at the Colonge.

CS:GO knife scammer found and convicted by Denmark court of Law

3

An alleged CS:GO scammer was reportedly sentenced to a 30-day trial after having being deceived two fellow CS:GO players of costly and valuable items. The expensive skins were for about $700. Skins where Nicolai “Nille” Pedersen was one of the two people who were exposed to fraud. Nille decided to report it, and it gave surprising paw when the police show interest in the case. We have chosen to hear the whole scenario from Nille’s point of view, where he tells the story from start to finish.

Nicolai “Nille” was one of the people, who got scammed. He got scammed for 1.510 Danish Kroner (approx. $230). When he didn’t receive payment for his knife (which was supposed to be sent to his bank account following the weekend) and he got blocked/deleted from all contact options by the scammer, he reported it to the police.

After a few days, he was contacted by police due to another person reporting the same scammer to the police also. The police showed interest in the case and prosecution ensued.

After a few months, “Nille” was called in to stand witness in court, where he meet his scammer and the other person, who also got scammed. The scammer made no attempt to defend himself.

Conviction and judgment for the scammer:

  • 30 days of unconditional jail
  • 40 days of community service
  • Compensation of stolen skins from the 2 victims. Total: 5000 Danish Kroner.

In the end: “Nille” has still not received his 1.510 Danish Kroner as of today despite the conviction. Hopefully, they will come soon.

Sagar “lOvEsx” Vyas – An autobiography: Life of Professionals

My Journey started as a normal café gamer in Goregaon where I just used to play with computer. Some people thought that I play more better than average and suggested me to play fifa events which I had zero idea about, but since it was related to FIFA I thought of giving It a try, so I went to play FIFA professionally for the first event which was organized by Zapak Gaming malad and I experienced some next level shit, reaching till semi finals was a big thing for me as I was not aware of the rules and the formats.

Then I learnt about big players which were coming there to play and one of them was.. (don’t want to mention name). He won the game and I was like fan of his gameplay and wanted to meet him, discus about the scene, the professional scene and more but I forgot “With great skill comes bigger ego” I was quite frustrated about this and that was the day when I decided to take this seriously and become better than him, compete with them and beat him with confidence!

1374216_709147789097914_1272054186_n

It was when I was in my 10th standard and unfortunately I didn’t have computer, for which I had to literally pull off the typical Indian drama of ‘Not eating food until wishes fulfill’. I was quickly able to manipulate the emotions of my parents and able to get the computer followed by the hardcore practice session to be the best in the then version of FIFA. To some of you it might seem odd, but trust me I used to FIFA for atleast 17 hours a day. The repeated career mode sessions and what not. Eventually, I learnt some nasty tricks and tried them in local event with grace and success. Later, I participated in the first ever MAJOR of my professional run, WCG. I had to travel to Delhi all the way to participate in the qualifiers only to know that I will not be able to participate from a different city? Damnit.

Today, when I re-call that I think it was for good as it burnt me from within and I encraved the passion of competiting and winning it from my Home city, Mumbai. But luck wasn’t favoring me when I was informed I can’t even pariticpate in the Mumbai event since I have breached the rules and travelled to Delhi. But still as being a Mumbikar pateli pahele, I went to the Mumbai event and then I knew I wont be allowed to play, but took a chance, was about to lose hope, till the time I heard of one of the best CS 1.6 teams of India that time, Ate. Gaming and some people told me to talk to Ben Varghese as he was the a renowned personality that time and a known personality in the gaming field.

I had the only option to approach him and play my final card of requesting him. Luckily the noise was heard and I was allowed to participate. I was the first runner-up of that event but that too, was something auspicious to me. Just after WCG, I got an opportunity to join India’s one of the best gaming squads if I win DSK Supinfocom and for that I didn’t leave any stone unturned. I did everything which I could to help myself sprinting the way of success. Non stop practices, sleepless nights and undisputed passion got me the reward. I won the first ever DSK gaming event. It was shocking for then existing FIFA community to see an underdog clinched a major event but they didn’t know my burning spirit inside and since then there was no stopping for me.
The turning point of my career was during ESWC, the big-pot International event for which I was excited and thrilled at the same time.

Sagar "lOvEsX" Vyas
Sagar Vyas with the famous female pro gamer zAaz

People from all across the country were fighting for THAT one life-changing spot. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make my way to the top for which the spirit inside of me got fueled a little bit and my inner conscious persuaded me to practice for a bit longer and harder for the next season in 2012. I waited for a-loooooooong-year to fight for the slot and represent India abroad. I won the Mumbai qualifiers of ESWC 2012 and proceeded to play the national qualifiers in Goa. The sheer dedication and my uttermost hardwork resulted in the win and I got the opportunity FINALLY to be the Indian representative of FIFA in Paris. (yea, baby!)

Despite being very little active on the scene and beating some consistent professionals at that time, I got tremendous support from the community, I got good-wishes, best-of-lucks, people were obliged of how I made them proud and some were even disappointed…… yeaaaaaaaaaaaah! I’d like to thank, Team NSD, Ate.Gaming, Brutality and organizations like TalkEsport who boosted my morale and allowed me to enter into the comfortable zone for a long-awaited-tensed-journey!

In ESWC, to my hard-luck I was placed in the toughest group which had the 1st and 2nd best of the world FIFA players. Imagine playing your first event international and facing the world best in your very first game. I definitely improved my game a lot with defensive skills to match myself at the International level. I beat “ovvy” which was at that time FIFA’s second world best player and who later on managed to win the event coming from the loosers bracket. I qualified the group stage proceeding to round of 16 where my journey ended. But I defenitely got placed in the “Hall of Fame” of ESWC when my name was flashed in the Top 10 FIFA players in the world with the Indian flag hoisted.

That was one of the greatest of experience I ever had. After returning back from ESWC, I got the deserving attention. My hard-work was paying me back with the fame I got and the interviews media outlets were publishing. But somewhere deep inside I was aware of the lack of scope in the professional gaming scene at that point of time. It was next to impossible for me to convince my family that even after winning hundreds of events I was only able to bring home “goodies” and you guys know it too. The future was never bright with Goodies. I quit the scene after winning a local event. Today, after the couple of years gap when I experience and see professional gaming going to an alltogether different level, I feel that my passion finally has a home and a career to fulfil my essential needs.

I am not bragging about myself being the representative of India overseas, there were a lot of them which represented India and failed miserably in doing so. I mentioned this because I was being bullied at times for not having a “fan-page” or a huge “fan-base” because I never made fans, I made.. friends. This long-post was not to send you people to boredom but you make you feel excited of me returning back to the scene once again with loads of surprises! And R4!dforce is going to change the way you guys see eSport events in India! You guys will see me playing FIFA 17 again and I assure you that I will not let anyone down. Manila Major Update – Day 4 Analysis

Manila Major Update – Day 4

Manila Major Update
Manila Major Update

Manila Major Update – Day 4 concludes with the departure of three teams namely the fan favorites Natus Vincere, The home team from South East Asia – Fnatic and the Starladder i-League winners Vici Gaming.Reborn. Team Liquid & LGD Gaming will proceed in the lower bracket.

Analysis of all the games for Today.

Natus Vincere V/s Team Liquid

GAME 1 Analysis   Winner : Team Liquid

Team Liquid with a solid push lineup was expected to end the game between 20-30 minutes  with the pushing power brought to the table by MATUMBAMAN’s impressive Lone Druid and FATA’s Dragon Knight, but Na’Vi was able to hold up the game till 40 minutes and at the end of the day the damage output from solo physical damage dealer i.e Juggernaut was not enough to sail Na’Vi’s ship to next end.

GAME 2 Analysis  Winner : Team Liquid

Na’Vi with their most comfortable heroes were not able to pull out the game as they fail to defeat Team Liquid after getting Lycan and Dendi’s Queen of Pain. Fata and Matumbaman were able to pull out the game will some excellent plays from Jerax’s Tusk and Kuroky’s Jungling Beastmaster.

Natus Vincere will finish at 7th – 8th position and take home $105,000

Game 1 Dotabuff

Game 2 Dotabuff

Vici_Gaming Reborn V/S LGD Gaming

GAME 1 Analysis   Winner : LGD Gaming

The performance expected from the english talent at the Analyst desk from Maybe’s Invoker was delivered with a dominant KDA of 13 and score of 12/2/14. Vici Gaming Reborn failed to withstand against Maybe’s Invoker after their last pick Ursa which brought a surprise to the table.

GAME 2 Analysis   Winner : Vici_Gaming

LGD Gaming starting up with Tidehunter first pick for xiao8 were not able to out farm nono’s Alchmist in game 2 after Maybe’s Invoker was banned in the final phase. Nono’s Alchemist had about 10 k extra net worth from the highest farmed hero on the side of LGD Gaming

GAME 3 Analysis   Winner : LGD Gaming

Game 1 was Maybe’s Show, Game 2 was Alchamist’s and Slark overfarming the opponents with amazing teamfighter Axe in team. Game 3 can be said as a stomp from Maybe and Aggressif with KDA’s 19 & 17 respectively. Maybe and Aggressif are surely the shining stars of the team but captain xiao8 on his Enigma with some good black holes enabled his bag the win.

Vici_Gaming Reborn will finish 7th – 8th Position and take home the prize many of $105,000

Game 1 Dotabuff

Game 2 Dotabuff

Game 3 Dotabuff

Team Liquid V/s Fnatic

GAME 1 Analysis   Winner : Team Liquid

Both teams picked up greedy position 4 supports i.e Axe for Fnatic and Doom for Team Liquid. With some doom gank on Midone’s Invoker FATA was able to easily farm up and take the towers by using the ultimate. On the other hand Matumbaman was leading the net worth chart with 10k above Mushi’s Sven with a KDA of 8. With such heavy push line up on Team Liquid and damage amplification from Slardar, the game ended at 51 minutes which was a significant hold from the side of South East Asians.

GAME 2 Analysis   Winner : Team Liquid

As Fnatic tools did not work out in their way in game 1. Mushi came out with Medusa mid and a Phantom Lancer for Midone at the safe lane. The burst damage from Slardar and Naix Infest bomb allowed Team Liquid to constantly gank the PL. Addition of riki to the roster opened the doors for Team Liquid to keep the enemy in the Smoke screen and avoid the Stone Gaze from Medusa or a Dopple Ganger from Phantom Lancer. With that Team Liquid takes down the home team at the Manila Major and knock them out of the tournament.

Fnatic will finish top 6 and take home the prize money of $202,000

UNiVeRse quits Team Secret to join EG, Bulba fills the spot

The Player Swap – Continued

Universe leaves Team Secret, Bulba to join

All the teams playing at the Manila Major were fighting to finish off for the first eight positions to receive an invite for The International 2016. Since now the eight positions are declared, Team Secret and Evil Geniuses with their past poor performances with some losing streaks are sure of not receiving and invite for The International.

As the Defending champions, there are chances that EG may receive one but there are much lower chances for Team Secret to get one since the team was under performing after the departure of w33 and misery.

As both the teams are now probably aware of this situation that they are not receiving and invite for TI6. Universe departs from Team Secret and a usual player swap between EG and Team Secret occurs. Firstly it was RTZ and after the loss of Manila Major (Which is still ongoing) Universe decides to get back to his previous team EG.

The empty position of Team Secret will be taken by Bulba who becomes a free agent after Universe joins EG. Team Secret will be taking on Bulba to complete their roster.

Team Secret may not have any other options regarding the players as the previously kicked w33 and Misery who are most likely to not come back. Other known player who will fit the lineup of Team Secret are already playing in a team and roster for TI6 is locked.

With this decision of both teams, Team Secret and Evil Geniuses will have to play the open qualifiers of TI6 and fight all the way from there. It will also effect the chances of a team to qualify that will be taken by these teams if they succeed to qualify from the open qualifiers.

As this is a serious matter where all the priorities are given to the players instead where most of the decisions are to be taken by the organisation. If the organisations fails to keep the teammates together, the teams will be of course facing problems in the coming future. There is no statement yet from the Manager of Evil Geniuses about the situation.

With this it is finally concluded that EG will finally participate at TI6 with the roster they won at TI5.

Flipsid3 ticks scoreboard at ESL One Major Qualifier

FlipSid3 and Renegades were the two groups aligned for the opener of qualifier for the following major, ESL One Cologne 2016. Before the end of the match the CIS side were triumphant, 16 – 9 on Mirage, and hence ready to secure the better seed for the following round of play.

FlipSid3 got off to an awesome begin as they could win their T side gun round with An execute and tailed it up by ruling on both hostile to ecos. Rebels then put a count on their scoreboard on the primary firearm round, which they won neatly with an end goal to attempt and get themselves back in the diversion.

Renegades tied it up, 3 – 3, however FlipSid3 immediately countered by taking control of mid and overwhelming the CT side to recover the lead. The Australian group was at last ready to grab another round on the tenth to keep it at a focused 4 – 6, yet just quickly.

A 2 versus 3 after plant win by Yegor “markeloff” Markelov andAndrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy on the following round put the Ukranian side ahead 4 – 7, constraining Renegades on a twofold eco and decreasing their odds at taking the guide.

While Renegades could finish off the half by taking the last two rounds of the half, which finished 6 – 9, FlipSid3 packed away the second gun round of the guide and could cruise easily to triumph, 16 – 9, in spite of a last push by Renegades which was short of what was needed.
