Valorant pro Twisten passes away at 19

0

Twisten Valorant: In a heart-wrenching announcement, Team Vitality has confirmed the untimely passing of their talented pro player, Karel “Twisten” Ašenbrener, at the tender age of 19. Twisten, renowned for his exceptional skills as Team Vitality’s Jett in Valorant, captivated fans worldwide since joining the French organization’s Valorant team in November 2022. This devastating news serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of mental health within the realm of esports.

On June 7, Team Vitality took to social media to share the heartbreaking news of Twisten’s passing. The organization expressed their profound sadness and extended their condolences to his friends and family during this immensely challenging time. Team Vitality acknowledged the profound impact of this loss, vowing to halt all communication for the remainder of the day as a mark of respect.

While the exact cause of Twisten’s untimely demise remains undisclosed, Harry “Gorilla” Mepham, Assistant Coach for Team Vitality, alleged that the young prodigy had taken his own life. This claim is further reinforced by Team Vitality’s emphasis on mental health concerns within their statement, indicating the possible role mental health struggles may have played in this tragic event.

In a heartfelt tribute to his departed comrade, Gorilla expressed his overwhelming sorrow and described Twisten as not only a close friend but also a brother-like figure. The magnitude of grief and emptiness Gorilla feels cannot be put into words, testifying to the profound impact Twisten had on those around him.

In February 2023, Twisten courageously opened up about his personal battle with depression and self-harm, recounting a previous incident that resulted in his hospitalization. Nevertheless, he expressed optimism and gratitude, stating that with the support of his teammates, he was in a significantly better state mentally and physically. Twisten’s heartfelt words in a Twitlonger post conveyed his unwavering belief that the upcoming year would be a triumphant one for him and his team.

The loss of Twisten serves as a stark reminder of the genuine and significant impact mental health issues can have, even on individuals who may outwardly seem successful and accomplished. If you or someone you know is grappling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, remember that you are not alone. Reach out to a mental health professional, a helpline, or a trusted individual in your life. It is crucial to prioritize and address mental well-being, ensuring that no one suffers in silence.

As we mourn the untimely passing of Twisten, let his legacy encourage us to advocate for mental health awareness and support within the esports community and beyond.

FIFA 23 EOAE Week SBCs are coming soon: Report

0

The “End of an Era” or EOAE SBC (Squad Building Challenge) in FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) is a unique and time-limited event that serves as a heartfelt tribute to retiring or departing legendary players in FIFA 23. These challenges revolve around individuals who have made an indelible mark on their clubs or national teams, symbolizing the spirit of an entire era.

The anticipation surrounding this event is tremendous, as it promises substantial boosts to honor these true legends. Among the players bidding farewell is James Milner, who will be leaving Liverpool to embark on a new chapter with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Milner, a Red since 2015, has achieved remarkable success during his tenure at Anfield. He has clinched prestigious titles such as the Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup, Champions League, and FIFA Club World Cup. Milner’s legacy is truly exceptional, and his contributions to Liverpool will be remembered for years to come.

Zlatan Ibrahimović and Karim Benzema are also strong contenders for the “End of an Era” SBC. Zlatan, who is retiring from professional football, is expected to make a sensational comeback as an iconic player in EA Sports FC.

Meanwhile, Benzema is likely to pursue a lucrative opportunity by moving to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, where he may find himself facing off against Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr. This turn of events is captivating, considering that it was only after Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid that Benzema emerged as a club legend, leading Los Blancos to triumph in various competitions. Now, fate might bring them together as rivals once again.

In addition to these notable players, several others have the potential to feature in the “End of an Era” SBC in FIFA 23, including Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Roberto Firmino, Joaquín, and Hugo Lloris.

Reportedly, the TOTS campaign will unveil its final team on June 9. Coinciding with this exciting moment, the first EOAE (End of an Era) SBC of FIFA 23 for James Milner is scheduled to go live alongside the Ultimate TOTS at 6 pm BST (GMT / 10 am PST / 1 pm EST).

Valve releases massive update to CS2 for June 2023

Counter Strike 2 has finally been revealed by Valve after several weeks of speculation around the same. Valve’s highly anticipated “Counter Strike 2” is set to make its debut with a limited test which started off earlier in March. The game promises a complete overhaul to every system and every piece of content, bringing with it the largest technical leap forward in the history of the franchise.

Well, it was highly unusual that Valve would roll out some changes to their upcoming Counter Strike: 2. The latest patch for the upcoming game includes a number of substantial modifications that are expected to have a significant effect on the meta.

While the CS2 update on June 6 makes a number of changes, the three most notable ones are the switch of the beta testing map and the addition of two new gameplay elements, loadouts, and buybacks.

Mirage replaces Dust2 on this new CS2 patch, replacing the vintage and long-standing map in the game. Everyone who has access to the CS2 beta may now test out these new modifications on Mirage.

In addition, there will be new alternatives for players to consider before a match. Each player will be able to bring 15 guns into a match, including five pistols, five intermediate weapons, and five rifles.

You can buy back items you’ve already purchased at the beginning of the round, much like in VALORANT. This means you can sell the weapon or utility item during the buy time if you accidentally get the wrong choice, receive your money back, and spend it how you choose.

Counter-Strike 2 would be released this summer alongside a promise of an “overhaul to every system, every piece of content, and every part of the experience.”

CS2 Update Patch Notes for June 6, 2023

  • Commands bound to mouse wheels will now be reliably executed.
  • Fixed bug that would cause input to execute incorrectly after taking over a bot in practice mode.
  • Inspecting weapons is now predicted on the client for a more responsive experience.

  • The match will not affect any participants’ Skill Group.
  • Players that were not lobbied with the VAC-banned player will earn XP for the match.

Twitch’s New Branded Content Guidelines Face Severe Backlash

Twitch has announced fresh guidelines for branded content and said the announcement has not been well received within the streaming community. Sponsored streams play a crucial role in generating income for content creators. Sponsors represent a major source of revenue alongside donations and subscriptions and the freshly introduced will create a major dent in the income of streamers moving forward.

What is allowed?

  • Branded window on your Channel Page
  • Promoting products in your stream.
  • Playing sponsored games.
  • Endorsing services.
  • Using links to promote products/services.

With said guidelines, streamers won’t enjoy the same freedom they once had regarding branded content given the new guidelines will restrict several aspects of brand promotion including the specific dimensions of sponsored logos displayed during streams and broader limitations such as the prohibition of banner ads and pre-recorded video ads on Twitch.

What is not allowed?

  • On-stream brand windows cannot be over 3% of the player window.
  • Streamers cannot play video ads directly into their streams.
  • Streamers cannot display ‘banner’ ads directly in the player window.
  • Streamers cannot play audio ads directly in their streams.

Judging by the reaction from the community, the new rules hold the potential to push several streamers out of the door given they will have a direct negative impact on everyone’s revenue.

With competitors closing in on Twitch’s biggest names, this might work in their favor and help the likes of Kick and Rumble rope the departing content creators in. If Twitch goes through with the plan, we might see the beginning of its end.
