Mazy Discusses Problems Associated with Charging Fees to Watch Skyesports Championship 5.0

0

Skyesports, one of prominent South Asian esports tournament organizations, recently announced that they would be charging a minimal fee of ₹20 to allow viewers to watch the highly anticipated Skyesports Championship 5.0 on Loco. This decision, although a strategic one, has stirred up a significant controversy and backlash from the gaming community. Notably, the criticism is not centered around the nominal sum itself but the challenges it poses to the younger audience. Renowned Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) caster, Zeeshan “Mazy” Alam, recently discussed the problem associated with this decision.

Mazy’s Perspective Charging Fees to Watch Skyesports Championship 5.0

In a recent livestream, Mazy stated that the problem was not the amount of money the tournament organizer was charging, but it was the means of payment. He acknowledged that ₹20 is an amount that most individuals can afford, yet the problem lies in the accessibility of the medium through which the fee could be paid.  “If you ask someone for cash, they can easily give you ₹20 without any trouble. The problem is that there are no means to give ₹20. Our audience is all under 18 years of age. They don’t have bank accounts, they don’t have UPI, they don’t have any means to make their own transactions. When there are no means, how can they give ₹20? The problem lies there,” he said.

Mazy further argued that if the fee was charged for the entry at the LAN event, it would not have generated the same level of opposition. “They would go to the venue, buy a ₹20 ticket, enter, and there would be no commotion or issues. Nobody would question why it is like that. Everyone is willing to pay for LAN for all esports. But the problem is where will these young children get it from.”

While charging a nominal fee to watch an eSports tournament is a step forward in terms of monetization and sustainability for tournament organizers, a fine balance must be struck between revenue generation and ensuring accessibility for the majority of the audience. It will be interesting to see how this decision turns out.

NiKo set to join FALCONS

Touted as the greatest rifler to play the game, Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovac is on his way out of G2 Esports after joining them in 2020 from FaZe Clan according to reports.

NiKo leaving FaZe was a surprising decision for the Counter-Strike community but according to the Bosnian rifler, to play with his cousin Nemanja ‘HuNter’ Kovac had been a long-time dream, and joining G2 would fulfill that. Throughout his FaZe Clan days, NiKo claimed that the only reason he would leave the American organization was if he were presented an opportunity to play with his cousin, however, recent reports suggest HuNter will not be jumping ships with him.

NiKo deciding to leave G2 comes as a surprise decision from an emotional standpoint as it would require parting ways with his cousin, however, from a sporting point of view, G2 has failed to be the powerhouse that they were supposed to and having NiKo as the centerpiece only led to good runs of form that were few and far between which would prompt a player of NiKo’s stature to find a team that suits him better.

Poor form doesn’t mean NiKo came up empty-handed at G2. Anything besides a major would be considered below NiKo’s league but he was able to pick up two of the most prestigious trophies that CSGO had to offer, namely, Katowice 2023 and Cologne 2023.

According to reports, NiKo is on his way to Falcons, a team that will go under a massive roster rebuild under multi-major winning coach Danny ‘zonic’ Sorensen. NiKo has been speculated as one of the big names to join the team along with his teammate m0nesy but it’s unlikely that G2 lets the young AWPer go without a fight. NiKo will be joined by Emil “Magisk” Reif already committed to the project and Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer who will likely take on the IGL duties.

While we have seen multi-national rosters gaining success, Falcons will be the latest team to put together some of the biggest talents in Europe under their banner with the first CS2 Major as their goal. Only time can tell if this roster comes to fruition but on paper, it looks highly promising.

How to Find Shopping Cart in Fortnite Season OG?

0

Fortnite’s latest season, dubbed Season OG, is a nostalgic revival, bringing back the game’s original elements that fans loved, including the iconic Shopping Cart. This quirky vehicle, which first appeared in Season 4, was the game’s initial foray into player-driven transportation. Now, it’s back on the map, and here’s how you can find it.

How to Find Shopping Cart in Fortnite Season OG?

The Shopping Cart’s return is more than just a nod to the past; it’s a functional piece of Fortnite’s playful spirit. To find one, players should head to locations known for their high spawn rates. Dusty Divot and Tilted Towers are prime spots to start your search. If luck isn’t on your side there, expand your hunt to residential areas like Pleasant Park and Lazy Lake.

Given their scarcity, securing a Shopping Cart requires a blend of strategy and timing. Retail Row and Pleasant Park are also worth investigating but be prepared for competition. These vehicles are not just about mobility; they’re a statement of Fortnite culture, and players will go to great lengths to snag one.

The reintroduction of the Shopping Cart is a testament to Fortnite’s commitment to fun and its community’s fondness for the game’s history. As you race down the hills of Fortnite’s ever-evolving landscape, remember that it’s not just about the destination—it’s about the joy of the ride.

Alan Wake 2 Performance Issues Fixed in New Nvidia Driver Update

0

Nvidia has swiftly issued a hotfix for GeForce Driver Version 546.08, targeting the performance degradation issues that have been plaguing Alan Wake 2 players. This move is a direct response to the community’s feedback regarding the game’s stability over long play sessions.

The hotfix, a quick solution until the next Game Ready Driver is released, is designed to address the gradual stability and GPU performance degradation experienced by players during extended gameplay. Nvidia’s patch notes reveal the complexity of driver software and the extensive quality assurance process it undergoes. However, the hotfix drivers are rolled out with a shorter QA period, offering a timely but potentially less polished solution.

For players eager to dive back into the story-driven world of Alan Wake 2 without interruptions, the hotfix driver is available for download directly from the Nvidia Customer Care support site. Those who prefer a more thoroughly vetted update may choose to wait for the WHQL Certified Game Ready Driver update, which promises a more comprehensive solution without the risk of additional bugs.

Payday 3 First Patch is Live Now

0

The highly anticipated first major patch for Payday 3 has finally been deployed, and it’s a game-changer. Starbreeze Studios has rolled out update 1.01, addressing a “massive” number of issues that have been affecting the cooperative heist shooter since its launch. This update is a significant step towards stabilizing the game’s performance and enhancing the overall player experience.

Patch 1.01: What’s New?

The update brings a slew of changes, including the addition of pre-order and edition-specific items for all players, a fix for the “Cleanin’ It Out” achievement, and updates to aim assist on PlayStation 5. Players can now also turn the camera during the full tased effect, a small but significant quality-of-life improvement.

Addressing Launch Issues

Payday 3’s launch was far from smooth, with server issues that led to public apologies from Starbreeze CEO Tobias Sjögren. The studio has been working diligently to rectify these issues, and this patch is a testament to their commitment to improving the game. The patch notes, available on Steam and other platforms, detail the extensive list of fixes and adjustments made.

Player Base and Future Expectations

Despite boasting 3.1 million players shortly after launch, Payday 3 has seen a decline in its player base, with more gamers currently playing Payday 2. This update is crucial for Starbreeze to regain the trust of their players and build momentum for Payday 3.

With this update, Starbreeze Studios aims to rectify the rocky start of Payday 3 and provide a more stable and enjoyable gaming experience. The comprehensive list of fixes in patch 1.01 reflects the developer’s dedication to their community and the future of the Payday franchise.

ESL FACEIT Group Chairman Talks About Esports World Cup Criticisms and Impact

0

On the 23rd of October, Ralf Reichert, the ESL FACEIT Group Chairman and Esports expert, announced that he would resign from his position to become the CEO of the Esports World Foundation. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, announced the Esports World Cup. The event has been projected to become a vital piece of the country’s Vision 2030 project, which aims to grow its tourism sector and diversify its economy.

This creates an opportunity for many devout Esports enthusiasts in the country to passively participate in the tournament by visiting i-ggbet.com/en to predict the outcome of their favorite events.

This is the country’s latest venture in esports. Other examples include the acquisition and merger of FACEIT and ESL Gaming by Savvy Games Group. There’s also the national esports strategy, which involves a $45m esports festival and investment plans worth a whopping $38 billion.

Concerns About Saudi Arabia’s Investment

The announcement of the event, a cross-game Esports contest worth several million dollars, was received with several criticisms in the nation, just like virtually every Saudi Arabian government-funded Esports project.

There have been increased concerns about the country’s billion-dollar investments in the esports industry. This is because of the nation’s human rights records regarding women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights, as well as its strict stance on dissent.

Ralf Reichert stated the plans of the Esports World Cup Foundation to acknowledge and address the concerns of the community regarding the event.

He said that he thinks the contest addresses these issues in the core of past events in the last 2-3 years. He stated that the country had become a dream destination for several players, publishers, tournament promoters, organizers, and teams. He also said that he can’t recount any single incident where the visitors didn’t feel safe or welcome in the country.

Reichert also said that the human rights issue and other related items on the agenda are all about a changing society. He reiterated the Prime Minister’s speech about how the country is developing and progressing.

Bringing it back to esports, Reichert said that the country is at the forefront of its development and believes that it’s a society that’s changing for the better. He emphasizes that it’s fine that the community is keeping a critical eye on the events and that it’s to be expected.

The Prominence of the Esports World Cup

From the context of competition, the Esports World Cup is set to usurp Gamers8 as the most prominent and driven gaming project in the country. Saudi Arabia intends to make the event one of the largest esports tournaments globally in the aspects of the titles it will attract and the prize pool.

Reichert rounded up by saying that the list of titles will surpass the double-figure mark and that there’s potential for the event to ultimately include games coming from various platforms, including the console, PC, and even mobile devices.

Ninja taunts Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban

0

Ninja has taken shots at Dr Disrespect who thinks streamers should not be streaming on more than one platform namely, Twitch, Kick and YouTube at the same time.

Twitch recently removed limitations on streamers producing content on platforms like YouTube and Kick which was previously limited to mobile-first platforms like Tik-Tok and Instagram. Several streamers have taken up these newly established regulations and have started streaming on more than one platform at a time.

This change was made during Twitch-con 2023 when the Amazon-owned streaming platform committed itself to welcoming competition. Dr Disrespect, whose ban from Twitch remains one of pop culture’s biggest mysteries, called out anyone who streams on multiple platforms.

“If you have to multi stream, that’s because you’re not good enough for one platform.” he said.

“Says the guy who can’t stream on the biggest live streaming platform atm” replied Ninja to his Tweet.

Ninja’s dig is a reference to how Doc cannot stream on Twitch since he got banned a few years ago. Doc has taken the taunt in a sporting spirit and this drama won’t escalate any further. Doc and Ninja have a pretty strong relationship and its unlikely that this puts a strain on their relationship moving forward.

However, the recent policy change will open up Twitch to serious challenges, especially in light of several streamers leaving for platforms like Kick and Rumble and this opens the floodgate for streamers to try out other platforms.
