Global Esports complete roster with HellrangeR, BaDman and haiVaan

After the departure of the Polish duo of Kamil ‘kamil’ Kamiński & Adrian “Zorineq” Kołodziejski and having benched Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose, Global Esports have turned to Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani, Saharyar “BaDman” Shaikh and Vishal “haivaan” Sharma to fill in the voids left by the departure of the three players.

First up, we have Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani. HellrangeR was released by Entity on the 4th of March 2019 and did not jump onto another professional team. He was spotted playing the IEM Sydney 2019 SEA Open Qualifier #2 under the MXB gaming banner alongside karam1L, BondF, MithilF and Manan.

Next is Saharyar “BaDman” Shaikh. BaDman rejoined 2ez Gaming on the 21st of January, the lineup was only made for ESL India Winter LAN Finale. However, the core of the team was signed by the Global Esports lineup. 2ez revealed a revamped lineup only for COBX Masters where BaDman was featured alongside spy, FalKen, p7 and Recoilmaster.

Lastly, we have Vishal “haiVaan” Sharma. haiVaan’s first professional was OpTic India but the Forsaken incident saw his career getting cut short. haiVaan then had a short period where he played for ATE Gaming. Now, he will join Global Esports.

According to our sources, these three players were to be a part of the new Mammoth Gaming roster but it looks like this move has fallen through and the three have been signed by Global Esports.

We are proud to have an all Indian roster and are looking to grow our local talent instead of outsourcing that job. We may change our minds in the future but currently, we want to concentrate our resources on providing everything we can to our fresh lineup to succeed not online in India but on a global scale.

Dr. Rushindra Sinha, Founder & CEO, Global Esports

The new Global Esports lineup will be:

  • Rahul “t1toSAVAGE” Sridhar
  • Tejas “Rexy” Kotian
  • Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani
  • Saharyar “BaDman” Shaikh
  • Vishal “haiVaan” Sharma

EA attempts to win back Star Wars Fans with a new game and exciting details following its release

0

With the release of Star Wars: Battlefront players were left wanting for more as the game only offered barebone experience of would be the best-selling game. Soon to remedy this EA launched Star Wars: Battlefront 2, but that game objectively being better than Battlefront 1 had some glaring issues. The game was notoriously known for its aggressive pay-2-win tactics where players could pay to unlock characters or depend on RNG Lootboxes to have chance to get the character they wanted. For Battlefront 2 EA generated huge amounts of a backlash among fans and press, with many even asking Disney for revoking the license of EA to produce more Star Wars game as people feared EA will offer a water-downed experience in Star Wars shell with loads of microtransactions to monetise game at every point. But, with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order EA is trying to earn back the confidence of player and this time they are making some huge changes to game.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a third person action game with Jedi as the playable character. Unlike the Star Wars Battlefront series, this game won’t be a shooter and will be action game with main focus on Lightsabre combat. The game will feature a full-length story mode and won’t have a multiplayer option. The story is set to take place after “Episode 3- Revenge of the Sith” and before “Episode 4- A New Hope”. The game will follow “a young Padawan’s journey” who is one of the last remaining Jedi from Order 66. The Order 66 was destroyed and only a few Jedi were able to survive the purge and are being actively hunted on, with us trying to stand out as little as possible (maybe stealth involved?). According to sources, Disney will be presenting more information about the game during a panel at the Star Wars celebration in Chicago.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is EA’s attempt to redeem themselves and for this EA have faith in one of their best studios: Respawn Entertainment. Respawn Entertainment is one of the best studios under EA right now. Some may know them for Apex Legends, most popular battle royale game in the market right now or Titanfall series which is till date is considered best in the multiplayer genre. But their history goes way back to Call of Duty era. Respawn Entertainment was made by ex-employees of Infinity Ward, the studio that gave us best campaigns in FPS games ( mainly COD: MW) till date. So, with the experience on their side, Respawn was objectively the best choice EA had after Bioware failed 2 times in a row with Mass effect Andromeda and Anthem.

But that’s not all, EA has also made some shocking promises. With the game coming out in “holiday 2019”, EA made promises that the game won’t feature any kind of Lootboxes or microtransactions, and also promised that EA won’t be adding them later on. With this announcement alone many players sceptical about EA’s monetisation menace can rest at ease.

According to sources, the game isn’t on EA’s Frostbite Engine rather it is made on Unreal Engine. Frostbite may be able to produce some very beautiful landscapes but at the same time, the engine is difficult to work with and is missing basic functionality ( as reported by Anthem developers). So, with them working on Unreal Engine ( known for its variety of included functions and being well documented) Respawn will be able to focus more on actual gameplay and mechanics.

With more information about the game to be detailed soon, we only hope to see a great Star Wars game which Jedi: Fallen Order might offer.

Apple promises to add new games to the service on a regular basis. Global Esports bench Antidote

2

Global Esports have announced that they have benched Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose, just a month after being signed from 2ez.

The report comes just days after dropping the Polish duo of Adrian “Zorineq” Kołodziejski and Kamil “kamil” Kamiński. This means that a majority of their initial squad has been released.

  • Tejas “Rexy” Kotian
  • Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose (benched)

How can Na’Vi topple the mighty Astralis?

The mighty Astralis asserted their superiority over Natus Vincere in clinical fashion when they met at BLAST Pro Series Miami on Friday night. Astralis have sat atop the world rankings for the past 70 weeks and they have enjoyed a total stranglehold on the pro CS:GO scene. They have won back-to-back Majors, ESL Pro League titles and ECS season finals and nobody has come close to threatening their dominance. But Na’Vi are now up to second in the HLTV rankings and an impressive victory at StarSeries i-league season 7 in Shanghai suggested they might cause the Danes problems in Miami.

However, Astralis brushed aside any such notions in utterly contemptuous fashion, romping to a 16-7 victory. They found themselves 4-1 down after some industrious work from s1mple and flamie, but then they took complete control of the contest. A magnificent 1v2 clutch from Xyp9X put the Danes ahead and they raced into a 9-4 lead. Xyp9x then took down three to enable the double for gla1ve. Na’Vi found themselves 14-4 down before they finally responded with a sensational quad kill hold from flamie, but Astralis then cruised to victory on a force buy.

It left Astralis 2-0 in the group stage, following a 16-10 win over Cloud9 earlier that day, and it highlighted the sheer gulf in class between them and the chasing pack. Na’Vi may be second in HLTV’s world rankings, but Astralis have almost twice as many points as their closest rivals. They showed just why with another composed performance to swat Na’Vi aside, and the Ukrainian team have a lot to work on before they can think of toppling the dominant Danes.

Best Player of 2018

HLTV named s1mple the best player in the world for 2018, ahead of Astralis’ device in second, but the Danish team also had dupreeh at number five, Magisk at number seven, gla1ve at number eight and Xyp9x at 13th place, and it is their collective brilliance that has left their rivals trailing in their wake. Former pro Chad ‘SPUNJ’ Burchill summed it up nicely when he said: “It really feels like the level of most teams is on the way up right now. Obviously the bar has been set so ridiculously high by Astralis, so you need to take them out of the equation, but for the first time in a long time the top 15 feels super competitive.”

The rest of the teams are simply competing to be named the second best in the world. The Danes are such heavy favourites in every tournament they play in that many fans avoid the straight up win markets (such as those seen here) and instead bet on the spread for a more tempting set of odds.

CS:GO needs someone to step up and challenge Astralis in order to reignite interest among fans, as many are becoming frustrated by their dominance. Even if they skip a tournament, victory feels hollow for whoever lifts the trophy, as everyone assumes Astralis would have seized glory if they had of participated.

Their dominance is unparalleled in any other esport, and a lack of competition could derail CS:GO’s momentum. New titles are being released all the time and everyone wants to seize market share within the burgeoning esports sector, so CS:GO needs to remain exciting and dynamic to hold onto its position as one of the world’s most popular competitive games, and it is hard to do that when one team looms so large over the scene. You could argue that Team Liquid are best placed to close the gap on Astralis, or perhaps ENCE, but Na’Vi have the talents of s1mple at their disposal, they are ranked second in the world and they are full of ambition.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjMKWFo3fGE

s1mple has long been waxing lyrical about Na’Vi’s ambitions of breaking Astralis’ stranglehold on the CS:GO scene and creating a new era of domination. They have enjoyed some modest successes in this department, but the balance of power firmly sits with the Danes. Na’Vi have now turned to former Gambit coach B1ad3 in a bid to close the gap on the world’s top ranked team. He has been tasked with overhauling their training sessions, completing transfers to bolster their overall quality and preparing them for stern challenges ahead. The Ukrainians are trying to mimic Astralis by becoming more professional, working with dieticians and psychologists in order to turn the team into a fine-tuned machine.

B1ad3 has to inject a more scientific approach to Na’Vi’s training sessions and devise a better strategy for the team if they are to improve. Astralis outsmart every team they play and they get their tactics spot on, because they study the demos of all their rivals to the nth degree. Na’Vi must copy this. Astralis also boast a rock-solid system, in which every player has a clearly defined role. Their decision-making is precise and devastatingly effective, underpinned by gla1ve’s exemplary in-game leadership and the phenomenal chemistry in the team.

Astralis cannot hope to contain s1mple, but they typically overwhelm Na’Vi via superb teamwork, discipline, patience, consistency and tactical nous. B1ad3 must work with his troops to create a more effective system and fix the numerous small mistakes Na’Vi make. They can only hope to topple Astralis if they cut out these errors. They can also learn a lot from the Danes’ grenade use, which is a major contributing factor behind their success.

s1mple says he is sick of simply being named the world’s best player and winning MVP awards while his team cannot enjoy collective glory. Yet there is so much resting on his shoulders due to the weaknesses of some of his teammates. There is a case to be made for axing Edward and Zeus and bringing in a couple of new stars to play alongside s1mple, electronic and flamie. If the overall quality was better, s1mple could become a more effective team player. All five members of Astralis can frag and they have a great spread of skills across their positions. You cannot say that about Na’Vi, so the line-up is in need of surgery before they can hope to challenge for the title of the world’s best team.

Borderlands 2 records 60,000 concurrent players this week

0

Borderlands 2 the good old looter shooter and the best in class of this genre just received an uplift with Gearbox offering free 4k texture packs and also announcing the sequel to the series named Borderland 3. All this news and update hyped the crowd and long-time players to reboot the title once again and relive the story again before the sequel.

According to a report, the game peaked just shy of 60k players last week as highlighted in steam charts where the game hit 59,333 concurrent players. All this boils down to the hype that the recent announcements made and the heavy discounts the game received this week.

But that doesn’t make the game mediocre. In fact, Borderlands 2 offers a wide variety of story-driven campaign and co-op looter shooter experience at its core followed by loads of customization options. The game has a “very positive” review on steam since its launch in 2012 and has remained the same since then. Even after loads of negative reviews, it received after the announcement of Borderlands 3 being 6-months exclusive to Epic Game Stores set to release on September 13th,2019.

The Borderland series have been fan favourite since long and borderland 2 was the best among them. Many reviewers said that the game was ahead of its time and offered a very new and fun approach to game mechanics, that other games were missing or failed to implement properly. With developers still remaining active and giving out updates occasionally, the game may even hit 80k concurrent players in the coming weeks as the release for the sequel comes closer.

Nepal bans PUBG due to addictive concerns

1

On Thursday the Nepal Telecommunication Authority directed all internet service providers and mobile service providers to ban PlayerUnknown’s Battleground Mobile game immediately after having concerns over its addictive nature and district court hearing coming in favour of the ban.

This comes as no surprise as parents and school were already protesting against the game saying that it is affecting children’s studies and is too addictive for their minds, so much so that they are hooked to the game for hours. The Metropolitan Crime Division had filed a Public Interest Litigation at the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday, seeking permission to ban PUBG after receiving complaints from parents, schools and school associations. The district court held the hearing on the same day and directed the Nepal Telecommunication Authority to ban the game immediately.

In a press release, the Senior Superintendent of Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh, chief of the Metropolitan Crime Division said:

We received a number of complaints from parents, schools and school associations regarding the effect of the game on children. We also held discussions with psychiatrists before requesting the Kathmandu District Court for permission to ban the game. There have been many shocking incidents due to the game in other countries. We have decided to ban the game before anything unfortunate occurs in Nepal.

He later on went and said that anyone found playing the game will be arrested and the internet or mobile service provider will also face action if they fail to implement the ban.

The decision to ban the game however, has not gone down well with many students and adults as they are reaching out to authorities about the ban and asking them to reverse the decision. Many people believe that banning the game isn’t the solution for the problem as there are many games that are similar to PUBG available to play. But rather the government authority should direct and teach parents to keep an eye out on their kids.

Nepal isn’t the only country to ban the game, with many countries such as China, India (limited ban) and more already banning the game. Even after the reports of Tencent (creators of PUBG Mobile) implementing a time limiting feature to game the bans continue to happen. Tencent has yet to comment officially on the matter.
