Battlegrounds Mobile India: Game time for underage players capped to 3 hours

Krafton has imposed a different set of restrictions in Battlegrounds Mobile India after updating their privacy policy for underage players. The PUBG creators recently announced a new title and has introduced many changes along with it. With the launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India, players under the age of 18 will have limited access to many features of the game.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is a rebranded version of PUBG Mobile India which was announced by Krafton. This game is set to launch very soon and will undergo a pre-registration process before a full-fledged launch. It is similar to the Korean or Chinese version of PUBG Mobile where the in-game mechanics are same but the content and other things are slightly altered to better align with the local rules and restrictions.

PUBG Mobile was banned in India due to severe data concerns and user privacy issues. These things are being focused on within this new game as the developers try to provide with a more transparent approach while issuing their in-game policies and term of service.

The developers have hosted a new website for Battlegrounds Mobile India and have posted an enlisted privacy policy and Terms of Services in a detailed fashion. These policies are fairly similar to older ones but some changes have been made for underage players.

Those who are under the age of 18 will not be able to play for more than 3 hours per day and the in-game spending will also be limited to ₹7,000 for a single day. Alongside this, players will need a consent from their guardians for playing this new game. This can be done by linking the mobile phone number of their guardian while registering for the game.

Guardians also have the authority to contact developers and delete user data of these underage players if they want to. These changes will certainly monitor minors who try to play PUBG Mobile India.

Chinese Overwatch League Teams Won’t Be Boycotting Saebyeolbe or Seoul Dynasty

0

Yesterday, we had reported that the Overwatch League’s Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Shanghai Dragons, and Hangzhou Spark had refused to participate in activities including Seoul Dynasty DPS, Saebyeolbe.

This decision followed some controversial political remarks that were made on Saebyeolbe’s stream regarding Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Saebyeolbe also posted a public apology for making controversial remarks through a handwritten note on his Instagram account. Clips recording the incident have now been deleted.

Today, as of 7th May 2021, the four Chinese Overwatch League teams have come to an agreement and will no longer continue to boycott Saebyeolbe or Seoul Dynasty.

“The Overwatch League is a global community, one made stronger by the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our players and fans,” an Overwatch League spokesperson said. “We have discussed this matter with all teams involved and the learnings that have come from it. In the spirit of sportsmanship and continuing to deliver amazing competition for our fans around the world, the teams have agreed to resume normal activities with one another.”

All of the above-mentioned Chinese teams have posted statements regarding the boycott.

Pokimane thinks marketing strategies are unnecessary on Twitch

0

Top streamers often go to lengths in terms of marketing strategy to expand their fan base which the platform’s biggest female streamer Anys ‘Pokimane’ Imane finds “unnecessary” and “greedy”.

Pokimane is one of the most viewed streamers on Twitch, only falling short against some of the biggest names in the industry. She has been dwelling in the industry for years and has been through all the possible struggles that a streamer faces when starting out. Twitch has been dominating the live streaming industry for years and an established streamer has little to worry about their future.

“People who have like 50k subs and they’re saying ‘let’s get to 51k!’ all the time — and I hate telling people what to do — but I find that off-putting,” said Pokimane.

“You make so much money… you must be very, very well aware doing that is such an easy and clear marketing tactic to convince people to give you even more money. That’s crazy. Is that really necessary? It’s just really not!”

One can assume where she is coming from, given subs are not free so asking for subs translates to begging for money one way or the other. For this instance, she has called out Twitch streamer who already has a base to build from. Having 50K subs means that the streamer is going uphill more often than not which makes the begging unnecessary altogether.

Before anyone could criticize her for judging lesser-known YouTubers from a position of power, she reminded everyone about the time she was down in student debt but still would beg for money, proving she has her moral compass straight.

Tencent might be forced to sell ownership of Riot and Epic Games

0

The U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment might force China’s Tencent to sell its 90% ownership in Riot and 40% shares in Epic over national security worries put forward by U.S. national security panel.

The security concerns were put forward because of the nature of the data collection, handling, and storing the personal information of millions of U.S citizens through firms like Riot Games and Epic Games in which it holds a majority stake. Both companies cater to a sizeable volume of U.S.-based gamers and also hold the personal information of many citizens, sharing which with a Chinese Government-backed company might jeopardize the security of the US and its citizens.

Sources tell Reuters that the Chinese Giant is currently negotiating agreements with the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment that would allow it to keep its ownership stakes in video game developers Riot Games and Epic Games. Tencent holds 100% ownership in Riot Games, 40% ownership in Epic Games, and a minority 5% stake in Activision-Blizzard.

If the security committee deems the investment as a security risk then Tencent will be forced to sell off or shut down its investments in these companies which will deal a major blow to its aggressive investment and globalization model.

Similar to Tencent, last year another Chinese company, Bytedance owners of the popular short video app TikTok was ordered to sell its app to a US-based business or face a complete ban. While the Biden administration hasn’t forced Bytedance to go through with the orders of last year, it hasn’t withdrawn the order yet and might implement it later after staffing key CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment) roles.

While Tencent is known for its hands-off approach with its investments and acquisitions, but if Tencent is forced to sell its majority stake to other big investment firms or ventures, then the same approach might not be followed and we might see drastic changes in the gaming landscape.

LoL MSI 2021: Day 1 Recap

The first day of MSI went as expected as all the team favoured team won their respective games. We got to see many old champions making come back in the patch 11.9 like Lee sin but in the top and mid lane instead of the jungle. Also some new meta pics like Morgana and Rumble in the jungle which was quite strong picks for the teams. We also got to see some old meta picks such as Hecarim, Kai’Sa and Xayah in the 2nd match of the day. As day one went as it should be nothing can be expected from the other matches as plenty of matches are still left.

Highlights from the Day 1 of MSI 2021:

DWG KIA defeated LCS Champions

The 1st match of MSI was a hype match between the two big regions as the viewers peaked at 1 Million. The WORLD Champions from Korea DAMWON KIA and the LCS winners Cloud9.

But the match didn’t live up to the expectation as DWG KIA won the match through their great macro knowledge and wave control.

For the 1st dragon, DK Canyon was successful at stealing the drake from C9 Blaber but at the same time giving first blood away to the C9. In the early game, C9 was ahead in the number of kills whereas DWG KIA was constantly ahead in the gold and towers lead.

In the late game, DK Khan caught C9 Fudge and then turning into Mega Gnar and using his ultimate to put 2 onto the wall combined with Beryl’s Leona ultimate won the team fight by getting 3 kills and turning that fight into a Baron and then getting C9 nexus to win the game.

Back to the old meta

The 2nd match of the MSI was between Gillette Infinity DetonatioN FocusMe. Although the MSI is played on patch 11.9, both team’s draft selection was the same as the time of patch 11.6.

Getting into the game, at 3rd minute INF mid laner Cody solo killed DFM mid laner Aria. The first team fight at the 20th minute was won by DFM with the help of clean engage by the DFM support Kazu as they killed INF JG and ADC and losing only their support and getting the first middle turret.

At the next team fight INF caught the flank by Kazu and then Cody stealing DFM Evi’s Akali ult to get three kills to shut down the DFM and then getting baron and winning team fight inside the DFM base to win out the game.

LPL Champions clean win over Oceanic Champions

In the 3rd match LPL winners, Royal Never Give Up was against Pentanet.GG.

There were no special plays, dives in the first 12 minutes of the game both team trading objectives although PGG got the first kill in the top side.

RNG with the help of their great macro play and map control got the mid tower and their first dragon at the 15th minute.

At the 17th minute, RNG jungler Wei got the Quadra kill in the team fight and put RNG in a massive gold lead. RNG got the early baron and took a 10k gold lead in just 20 minutes and won the next team fight inside PGG base and closed out the game in the 24th minute.

Pentanet.GG two defeats in a row

Pentanet.GG playing his 2nd match of the game vs Unicorns of Love and suffered yet another loss.

UOL got the first blood in the top lane and was ahead in the number of gold by getting the herald and the first turret in the early game. In the mid game, UOL kept putting pressure on the PGG Jungler and taking kills constantly in the team fight and turning the team fight to Baron PowerPlay at the 25th minute.

After taking the Baron UOL kept putting pressure on the PGG in the botlane and then winning the team fight with the Gnar ultimate and destroyed the PGG nexus.

The game that delivered

The 5th game was one hell of a match between fastpay wildcats and paiN gaming going back and forth to both the teams. IW showed a great early game whereas paiN Gaming showed brilliant mid and late-game team fights.

IW went for an early 2v2 fight in the bot lane and got the kill of PNG adc brTT. In return, PNG tried to a make dive at the top lane with the help of their jungler but ended up getting 1v2 by the IW top laner StarScreen. IW kept putting pressure on the botlane and kept getting kills and ended up getting 10 kills in only 9 minutes with a huge gold advantage in the early game.

PNG tried to turn the game back to their side by winning the first team fight in which PNG top laner ROBO got the triple kill. In the next few minutes, PNG punished IW side in the 5v2 and then secured the Baron and getting the gold lead first time in the game.

PNG lost 2 team fights in a row inside the IW base but didn’t affect them much as they had all three lanes pushed. PNG getting the next baron, won the team fight inside the IW base, and closed out the game in their favour.

MAD Lions take down PSG Talons

The last game of the day was between the Europe Champions MAD Lions and PSG Talons. MAD Lions dominated PSG throughout from early to late game and won the game.

PSG started the game by invading the red side of the MAD Lions jungle and getting an early advantage in the bot lane and jungle but not for long as MAD jumped back getting 2 kills in bot river with the help of their jungler.

At the 20th minute, MAD had the 6k gold lead by getting objectives and catching solo laner off-guard in the lanes with the help of some TP plays. MAD forced the PSG for a team fight at the baron and got 2 kills and secured the Baron kill at 23 minutes. With the help of Baron, MAD got an 11k gold lead and pushed all the lanes, won the team fight inside PSG base, and crushed the enemy nexus.

CSGO May 6th Patch Notes; What’s New?

A new patch has been shipped to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on May 6, 2021. The tiny update doesn’t bring a whole lot of new content to the game, but rather some smaller changes and stability improvements to improve the gameplay experience of the player base.

Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland and a Mobile game

0

Ubisoft’s The Division series kicked off in 2014’s E3 with a reveal trailer, followed by a controversial launch on March 8 2016 after it was discovered that the game was visually downgraded by a considerable amount in comparison to the E3 Gameplay trailer but that didn’t stop the game from being successful and was Ubisoft’s “fastest-selling game” at the time, having 9.5 million players after launch.

The game is set after a deadly pandemic in New York City and players assume the role of a Division agent who is tasked with finding the origins of the flu and maintaining order against anarchists. Though The Division mainly consists of PvE elements, it also has a semi PvP mode called “Dark Zone” where they can combat other players to get rare loot and customization items. According to Venturebeat, The Division hit 20 million players two years after its launch which isn’t surprising considering the post-launch updates as Ubisoft launched various expansions and added QoL improvements and balancing to the game years after its launch, which was one of the reasons for its fairly healthy player base across all platforms.

Three years later, Ubisoft released The Division 2. While the game retained various aspects and features from its predecessor, it was set in Washington, D.C, seven months after the events of The Division and brought about various improvements to their fan-favorite formula. Division 2 also received countless updates and expansions post-release.

With that being said, Ubisoft is continuing its plans to expand the franchise further and has announced a free to play game ‘Heartland’, set in The Division’s universe, “Heartland is a standalone game that doesn’t require previous experience with the series but will provide an all-new perspective on the universe in a new setting.

According to Ubisoft, the game will be launching on PC, Consoles as well as streaming services “in 2021-2022” and is being developed by Red Storm studio who have worked on numerous Tom Clancy titles, making them a “perfect fit for this project.”

A movie adaptation of The Division was announced in 2019, starring Jake Gyllenhaal with Netflix as the streaming platform. Ubisoft also plans on releasing The Division on mobile devices but the details will be shared at a “later date”.

Valorant Replay System Under Development, Riot Confirms

Valorant fans can finally let out a sigh of relief as Riot Games has finally confirmed that the replay system in Valorant, a feature that has been requested by players since its initial release, is currently in the initial stages of its development.

The developers’ team will keep updating fans as they progress on the implementation of this highly anticipated feature.

“Talks are ongoing with multiple internal teams interested in a VALORANT replay system,” the devs said in a blog post. “No, we can’t share any updates as of now, but know that these early discussions are in earnest and we should have an update for you all soon.”

It goes without saying that introducing a replay system in the shooter will not only help players improve their gameplay in general, but will also enable them to capture in-game highlights that would otherwise be missed.

While the exact date of the release of this upcoming feature is still uncertain, fans will be looking forward to hearing an update from the Riot devs regarding it.
