Free Fire and McLaren Racing brings McLaren P1 and MCLFF in game

Garena has announced a collaboration with Formula 1 team, McLaren Racing, and Free Fire, the world’s most downloaded mobile game in 2019 and 2020.

Free Fire’s crossover with McLaren – Ace the Field – will feature a thematic takeover in Free Fire, exclusive collaboration content, and various in-game features, as well as various promotional social media campaigns and offline activations.

Free Fire will deliver McLaren’s vision for Grand Prix racing through an exclusive collaboration – MCLFF – an abbreviation for McLaren-Free Fire. The design in collaboration with the McLaren Racing design team, takes inspiration from other McLaren race cars, including the MCL35M.

The McLaren P1™ is designed, engineered, and built to be the best driver’s car in the world, while the MCLFF will represent McLaren’s vision of the future, where Grand Prix racing meets the age of advanced technology.

With this crossover, McLaren fans will be able to enjoy driving the signature cars in the Free Fire universe. They can choose their favourite in-game car with the MCLFF & McLaren P1™ look and drive around Bermuda, Kalahari, or Purgatory and battle in style!

“We look forward to our players enjoying the best of McLaren in Free Fire. Collaborations like this allows us to deliver new experiences for current players and interest others to try Free Fire out,” Harold added.

A race track will also feature in Free Fire’s Training Island, where players can take their cars out for a test drive.

Ace the Field with the McLaren x Free Fire collection

Players can complete the racing look by equipping their characters with the exclusive McLaren Racing x Free Fire collection, which includes drivers’ overalls featuring the McLaren papaya and blue, the original colours chosen by founder Bruce McLaren.

The crossover will also see various other elements within Free Fire inspired by McLaren, from the moment they enter the game until they engage in battle. This means having Gloowall skins, surfboards, airships, and emotes inspired by McLaren, to name a few.

Lando Norris – from race track to Free Fire

McLaren Formula 1 racing driver Lando Norris, as a gamer himself, will feature in this collaboration. Fans can expect to catch Lando Norris throughout the campaign, with more details to be revealed at a later date.

Team Vikings defeat X10 Esports 2-0 at VCT Stage 2 Masters Reykjavik Day 2

The upper-bracket round 1 match-up between Team Vikings and X10 Esports was the first game on the second day of the Valorant Championship Tour: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavik. Although the encounter concluded within the initial two maps, the battle between the two wasn’t easy-peasy for either side.

Team Vikings won the match-up 2-0 and advanced to the upper-bracket semi-finals. They shall compete against the winner of Sentinels and Fnatic which will be played later today. On the other hand, X10 Esports has been relegated to the lower brackets to face-off against Crazy Raccoon from Japan.

Icebox: 13-11 to Team Vikings

Team Vikings got off to a decent start by winning the pistol round and the subsequent one. As the game progressed, both sides traded a couple of rounds here and there as the first half ended 7-5 with a slight advantage to Team Vikings. 

The second half began with the Vikings yet again securing an initial couple of rounds. X10 Esports also came back with two rounds. In the end, they exchanged rounds till the very end and Team Vikings bagged the map 13-11.  Being X10 Esports’ map pick, Icebox went the way of Brazilians.

Ascent: 14-12 to Team Vikings

X10 Esports began the second map with a decent 4-1 lead into the first half. But the Vikings won three rounds on the trot and levelled the scoreboard 4-4. Grabbing a couple of rounds each, the first-half tied at 6-6.

In the second half, the Vikings consolidated the match-up by securing the match-point in the twentieth round as the scoreboard turned 12-8. X10 Esports went all-in and turned the corner and tied the second map at 12-12. 

In the overtime, X10 Esports found no success as their opponents secured the second map as well. Sacy and sutecas were the frontrunners for Team Vikings throughout the match-up.

iNSUPERABLE Banned from Twitch for Body shaming Streamer

Partnered Twitch streamer iNSUPERABLE has been handed over a ban by the streaming platform after he called out a female streamer, “fat ugly bitch”.

The above incident took place on May 21 when Twitch streamer itsrachryan hosted a “Just Chatting” session alongside her friend and had committed to write the name of the person who would give the most number of subscriptions to the chat. This indeed attracted iNSUPERABLE who passed this comment upon watching them live,

If I saw the girl on the left dude, in a bar in Montreal, I would definitely skip on that s**t. The girl on the right dude, we can talk about it, dude. The girl on the left dude, she’s like the fat, ugly wing girl. You know like when you tell your chick, hey if you come to my party, bring your friend right, and she comes to the party, and that’s the friend she brings.

Four days later, Twitch support officially suspended iNSUPERABLE’s account for his comments as the incident was later reported by itsrachryan to the former and a clip was posted by her on Twitter which indeed caught everyone’s eye across the social media platform. She stated,

This partnered streamer came into my friend’s chat last night being more than just disrespectful and using our streams for his own content. People like this shouldn’t have a platform on Twitch or anywhere.

Comments previously made by him in the chat according to his TwitLonger:

How much for my name written on cheeks? She started yelling at me saying that i’m extremely disrespectful and that i’m sexually harassing her and that it’s not okay & that I’m a verified partner and she’s going to report me to twitch & they’re going to ban me if I don’t donate 5$ on the spot so she can forgive me.

She kept on going for about 8 to 10 mins about all the stuff I just said earlier that I’m a partnered streamer and that I’m going to get canceled if I don’t donate more.

PMPL Arabia 2021 Week 2 Day 2: Overall Standings, Results

The second day of week 2 PMPL Arabia 2021 ended with Yalla Esports finishing at the top spot in the leaderboards.

The team got a total of 103 points including the 45 kills. Besides this, the team took the highest number of kills among all the teams. GUNZ Esports secured the second spot with 100 points followed by Zombies Esports with 98 points.

Falcons Esport, the table-toppers of SuperWeekend 1 could not qualify for this week’s Super Weekend stage. The team only managed to get a total of 26 points with 18 kills.

PMPL Arabia 2021 Season 1: Week 2 Day 2 Match Wise Summary

MATCH 1

The first match of day 2 league day was played on Sanhok. The first circle was formed on the southern side of the map with a majority of the teams dropping on it. RTG Esports were the first team to get eliminated from the game. Real Tiger9 completely dominated the match with 12 kills. The squad was killed at 5th place but due to the high kill game, the team climbed to 2nd spot in the game standings. GUNZ Esport got the first chicken dinner of the day with 9 kills.

MATCH 2

Yalla Esports emerged as the winners of match 2 which was played in Miramar. The team got a total of 25 points including 10 kill points. Hotline Esports took the higher team kills (13) and finished at second position with 25 points followed by Alpha Legends with 3 kills. Though Galaxy Racers finished at the 6th spot in the game, the team couldn’t manage to get a single kill. 

MATCH 3

Yalla Esports yet again displayed dominating performance in match 3 of day 2 league day. The squad took the chicken dinner with 1o kills followed by Hotline Esports with 6 kills. Galaxy Racers couldn’t do much in this match and was the first team to get eliminated at 16th position in the game. With just one match left for the group A teams, it looked tough for the squad to qualify for the Super Weekend 2.

MATCH 4

As this was the last match of the day for group A teams. Each team was trying hard to get their spot for the week 2 super weekend stage. Falcons Esports was the first team to get eliminated with 1 kill. Alpha Legends won the chicken dinner with 10 kills followed by Zombies Esports with 6 kills. Galaxy Racer managed to finish at number three spot in the standings with 2 kills. Thus scoring a total of 43 points in the league play week 2 with 14 kills.

MATCH 5

The last match of the week 2 league stage was played in Sanhok between the groups B,C,D,E. The first circle in the game was formed on the northern side of the map. Team SCYTES was the first team to get eliminated in the 16th position with 2 kills. Real Tiger9 got their second chicken dinner of the day with 11 kills. Zombies Esports secured the second spot on the leaderboard with a total of 18 points.

Dying Light Platinum Edition leaked on Microsoft Store

Microsoft had accidentally revealed the Platinum edition of Survival Horror title, Dying Light before they removed the store page of the same. While it was up, a release date of May 27 was noticed and there does stand a chance where game developers Techland and Microsoft might soon make it official. 

Dying Light is a survival horror video game developed by Techland where you would play as an undercover agent named Kyle Crane and would be sent on a mission, to infiltrate a quarantine zone in a Middle-eastern city called Harran. It was released at the end of January 2015 and since then has been a major hit, having received a majority of positive reviews from the critics due to its parkour mechanics and survival combat. 

A downloadable content pack (DLC) was further deployed in February 2016, set after the first game’s events. 

Dying Light’s Platinum bundle will be the game’s most expensive iteration which would include all the available DLCs along with the skin-packs and weapon bundles. Though the store page had a release date, the cost of this bundle still remains a mystery.

Halo Combat Evolved Graphical Issues fixed in new Update

Released in 2001, Halo:Combat Evolved was a huge success and was later ported to PC by Gearbox Software in 2003. However, the port was plagued with a plethora of graphical bugs and issues that resulted in the PC version of the game being inferior to the original Xbox release.

The very same PC port was then used by 343 Industries in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and subsequently, Halo: The Master Chief Collection which meant that these issues were present in the ‘remastered’ version of the game.

With this month’s update for the MCC insider build – a special version of the game that lets players test patches and updates before their official release, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary’s upcoming patch aims to fix these graphical issues, 17 years after its original release on PC. 

Players enrolled in the insider version of the game will notice that Captain Key’s character model is the same as the one in the original Xbox version and a wide variety of textures now look better and have improved details as most surfaces now have a depth to them and can produce realistic shadows, the fog in the mission ‘Assault on the Control Room’ has better visibility. The energy field on Covenant dropships don’t look as flat anymore and Jackal’s shields will now turn red after taking a considerable amount of damage.

Twitch-made Pokimane Animation To Be Up At New York Times Square

Times Square, known to be a major commercial intersection in the United States is set to feature advertisements of Twitch Streamers Imane “Pokimane” Anys and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. 

Earlier today on Twitter, Twitch released a series of animations, including those of Pokimane, Ninja and Timothy “TimTheTatman” John Betar which will be displayed on the billboards of the famous Time Square in New York.

These short clips have exclusively been produced by Twitch in a bid to give a shout out to their most popular streamers and every one of them ends with the title “The Legend of”

Pokimane and Ninja currently are the most famous streamer personalities on Twitch, an American video live streaming service.

The subscriber count of both have hit new heights as together they have over 24 Million subscribers from their channels (Ninja’s Subscriber count:16.7M Approx, Pokimane’s Subscriber count: 7.8M Approx).

The animated clips have been hyped over the internet, mainly on Twitter and they do depict a funny resemblance of the above-mentioned streamers.

In her clip, Pokimane is shown to have bright purple hair along with her cat Mimi who also has been featured in the clip.

In the latter, she is plotted to have armed the “super-human ability to befriend everyone” and could also be an “human avatar of her cat Mimi”. Alongside, it has also been said that Pokimane has also “silenced a few trolls” which is indeed true.

Pokimane is the founder of OfflineTV and was featured in the 2021 Forbes 30 under 30, under the category of Games.

In the Legend of Ninja video, dubbed as “According to his Twitch chat”, Ninja in his childhood unlocked a supernatural headband that helped him unlock his true potential. In the clip, his “Mixer move” has also been mentioned where he disappeared but came back to Twitch, in a “more Ninja-y way than ever before”

In 2019, Ninja left Twitch to continue his streaming career on Mixer but eventually made his return to the former after Microsoft decided to cease operations of their streaming service in the middle of 2020. Upon his return, he signed a multi-year contract with Twitch in September, 2020.

Jeremy Wang aka Disguised Toast wants to get back at playing Among Us with his peers and added on why the social aspect of the game made it interesting for him.

Disguised Toast, ventured out to GTA Role Play along with the likes of Sykkuno and Valkyrae and Among Us became something that they played occasionally. The social deduction game was the big thing that played a huge part in the rise of streamers like him and even to this day, it pulls respectable viewership despite falling out of flavour.

The dying hype of Among Us made many streamers jump into the GTA V Role Play bandwagon. NoPixel GTA server came to fruition that housed the likes of xQc, summit1g, and almost all top GTA content creators, so when the likes of Toast, Sykkuno, and Rae decided to jump ship, they had a stage ready to hit the ground running.

Toast’s channel was largely based on Among Us content and see him change games was a surprise for many but in a recent stream, he expressed his desire to return. During the stream, Corpse Husband, Valkyrae, Sykkuno joined in for a game of Among Us and it made Toast state “Maybe Among Us can be a game that we play once a month, maybe that’s how we do Among Us.”.

One cannot downplay the epic viewership that RP pulls but his audience might need a little break from GTA once a while which will make space for him to push more Among Us centric content as breath of fresh air. With a fan base like his, anything will pull incredible numbers but going with the trend is something Toast must do retain and add more people to his audience.

CSGO Devs Fix Trust Factor Issues for Linux Users

After several months of repeated complaints from the Linux CSGO player base, it seems like the annoying issue of Linux users constantly experiencing low Trust Factor has finally been resolved by the CSGO devs.

The issue was being experienced by Linux users worldwide since January, and players have claimed that their CSGO Trust Factor would steadily drop whenever they played the shooter.

This would cause some serious problems for the players, as they would have to face cheaters, griefers, and toxic teammates regularly when playing the game.

CSGO player Keiron O’Shea resorted to several social media platforms to attract the devs’ attention on this problem. He even sent an email to Gaben himself in hopes of getting this issue fixed.

Luckily, it seems like the efforts of the Linux CSGO community have paid off, as Valve has confirmed that the issue has now been fixed.

“We’ve found the underlying issue and believe it is fixed,” claimed Ido Magal, a CSGO dev, in a reply to the aforementioned email.

This is certainly some delightful news for Linux users, as they can finally enjoy the shooter without facing hackers or griefers every other game.

Garena has a good news for Bangladeshi Free Fire fans as they have finally brought the official Free Fire experience in the country. Players from Bangladesh were requesting a dedicated server and other things for a long time and the developers have committed to please their fanbase.

A video was posted on the official handle of Free Fire. It announced the launch of dedicated server for Free Fire in Bangladesh alongside several other exciting additions. One of the most important things after servers is that developers will try to push localized content and provide support for esports as well.

Free Fire has grown a lot in the last few years. The pandemic boosted their growth to a very large extent and they player base multiplied in the matter of few months. This game is quite popular in South Asian region and became the most downloaded game as per volume in the last couple of years.

The big player-base should be handled correctly as server overload may affect the user experience while playing the game. The Bangladeshi players were having troubles with the servers and several issues like late responses and rough gameplay will be fixed after this server is set up.

Garena has announced that it is going to set up the server by 8th June 2021. Players from Bangladesh can pre-register for it and get some exclusive rewards after certain milestones are achieved. A T-shirt skin is guaranteed for anybody who pre-registers in it.

This announcement is certainly a favourable news for players from Bangladesh. They will be able to play Free Fire with a completely new experience in the next few weeks. The localized events and content will also assure that their culture is inculcated in-game as well.
