In a Q&A, Preeti Khanolkar, Senior Producer (Skins/Cosmetics/Base Weapons) added,

“We’ve heard from a lot of players that they’d really love if they could donate to charity by purchasing skins. We liked that idea a lot and wanted players to participate as part of our One Year launch anniversary by donating to the Riot Impact Fund. So, we thought the best way to do that was having players vote on which skins they’d want to include in the Give Back Bundle!”

How to transfer data from PUBG Mobile to Battlegrounds Mobile India?

Krafton Inc. has released the early access to Battlegrounds Mobile India for the country where selective players can gain access to the game on a first come first serve basis. Many slots are being opened on a regular basis and players can enroll in the testing phase to enter the process. The old PUBG Mobile accounts are being migrated to Battlegrounds Mobile India and here are all the details about this transfer.

PUBG Mobile was a big hit in India and many players in the country had invested heavily in this game. The value of skins and other cosmetic items, UC and more ranged in a few thousand dollars for many and hence, one of the most important questions was “Will players get their old accounts back.” The answer is clear now as Krafton has added a data migration process through which, the entire data of old accounts is being transferred to the database of Battlegrounds Mobile India.

This transfer mainly includes character details, the inventory, and other information linked to each in-game ID but few exemptions are made as well. The data transfer is unevenly distributed but the developers have provided complete information on what is being transferred and what is neglected.

Players can use their Facebook or Twitter ID which was linked to PUBG Mobile to get their old accounts back in Battlegrounds Mobile India. They need to create a new account first and then accept the data migration prompt which enables all the transfers.

Here is a detailed list on all the features transferred by Krafton to Battlegrounds Mobile India:

Things like in-game friends, social circles, and clans are not transferred. Old rank information and the settings like sensitivity and HUD which were saved on the cloud are non-transferable as well. You can check all the sections included above to get detailed information.

How to implement the data transfer?

  1. Agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service that are shown when you first log into the game.
  2. A new character is created.
  3. When the pop-up appears asking if you want to proceed with the data transfer, select ‘Agree’.
  4. After selecting ‘Agree’, another window will appear and you can select from which SNS account in the Prior App you want to use to transfer data to the new account in the New App.
  5. Once again, there will be a window asking if you want to transfer the data from the Prior App SNS account, and you should select ‘Agree’.
    • If you have selected the wrong SNS account by mistake, you can add or modify the linked account later from the settings within the game > basic menu. (allowed to link up to 2 SNS accounts at once)
  6. A message indicating that the data from the Prior App SNS account has been successfully transferred to the new account in the New App should pop up if the data transfer was a success.

LIRIK and xQc may get banned from Twitch

0

Popular Twitch steamer xQc and LIRIK are looking at the possibility of a Twitch ban following co-streaming Nintendo’s E3 Direct presentation while ignoring direct orders.

June 15th saw the official Nintendo Twitter post a warning against anyone broadcasting content from the Nintendo E3 presentation which was carelessly ignored by the likes of xQc and LIRIK. Following the official message, Twitch canceled the E3 stream which was a major red flag that xQc and LIRIK paid no respect to.

“Are we doing this? Listen xQc, if we get banned because of Pokemon GO DLC, you know, that is one way to go down,” said LIRIK, mocking the warning issued by Nintendo. “I am fine sinking on that ship!” “Okay? I am okay with that.” he added.

xQc’s eccentricity made him jump into LIRIK’s bandwagon without putting much thought into it, and now the pair jointly share the risk of getting banned from Twitch. So far out, Twitch hasn’t taken any action but when push comes to the shove, xQc and LIRIK may have to spend some time away from the Amazon owned streaming platform.

Becky Harris, former Chairwoman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, joins Oddin

0

Esports betting provider Oddin has announced that Becky Harris will join the company as a senior advisor in furtherance of Oddin’s commitment to maintaining a safe regulatory framework for esports in the US and other international markets.

Becky Harris is currently a Distinguished Fellow in Gaming and Leadership with the International Gaming Institute at UNLV.  In this capacity, Harris works with regulators, operators, academics, and other stakeholders on a host of gaming and leadership-related issues and projects.

Harris finished her term as Chairwoman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board in 2019 and was the first woman to hold the position. She guided the Board through a number of controversial matters: including, the repeal of PASPA, the emergence of sports betting across the United States, and various Wire Act issues.

Marek Suchar, Head of Partnerships at Oddin, stated:

“Everyone at Oddin is passionate about esports and we all believe that protecting the integrity of the industry is extremely important to its long-term success. In this regard, Oddin has already partnered with ESIC and through its risk management provides integrity monitoring data. Being leaders in esports betting, it is only natural that we seek to expand our horizons and look towards the untapped US market.

We want to help build an ecosystem where the integrity of the betting is paramount. As a former regulator and lawyer, Becky is aware of what it takes to enter and succeed in the US market. In this regard, Becky will be critical in navigating the various US regulatory frameworks and will help position Oddin as a thought leader in building a framework for safe esports betting in the US. We are extremely fortunate to have Becky on this exciting journey with us.”

Becky Harris added:

“Many bookmakers in the US understand the potential of esports betting, yet the regulatory environment stymies significant investment in this space. There is no doubt that esports betting is taking place among US bettors, it is just not necessarily happening through properly licensed operators. I am a believer in esports and am aligned with Oddin’s vision for a safe, transparent, and secure environment for esports betting. The team at Oddin has built an esports-focused technology that addresses both the concerns of regulators as well as the needs of esports fans for betting to be engaging and entertaining. I am excited to join Oddin as they continue to expand their reach in the US, starting with New Jersey.”

The Isle of Man Government announces its sponsorship of the Island’s first professional esports organisation, underlining its long-term commitment to the industry.

Digital Isle of Man, part of the Government’s Department for Enterprise, has sponsored X7, a new team, with a roster in League of Legends at present and plans to enter further titles. The team was founded on the Isle of Man in December 2020.

The sponsorship follows growing interest in the Isle of Man esports scene at all levels, with Gilly Tho, an Island-based content creator, recently signing for LDN UTD and significant investment and education at the grassroots level.

X7 Esports plans to make an impact in the UK and global esports industry. Focussed on attracting and supporting exceptional talent from across the world, X7 will recognise, nurture and introduce some of the best competitive players to both the UK and European scene.

X7 made its debut during the League of Legends United Kingdom Esports League (UKEL) Summer Open Qualifiers, where they produced a flawless set of results with 10 wins and 0 losses, setting the standard for future Isle of Man Orgs.

Commenting on the sponsorship and sector more broadlyChris Kissack, Digital Isle of Man’s Head of esports, said:

‘Esports is a fast-growing industry on the Isle of Man, and we are delighted to be able to support X7 on their journey. As the Island’s first professional esports Org competing in a recognised tournament within the industry. It is a very exciting opportunity and demonstrates that the Isle of Man is well-placed to support other such initiatives looking to grow and develop.

‘We continue to show and prove our authenticity and passion for growing esports on the Isle of Man and powering X7 to help them on their journey to compete at the highest level is another example of this. We hope they are the first of many Orgs with Isle of Man connections, whether that’s recruiting future Isle of Man stars or basing themselves here, and we will support them every step of the way.’

Josh Kingett, Founder of X7 Esports commented:

“I am thankful to Digital Isle of Man for assisting X7 Esports in achieving our goals for the upcoming UKEL Summer 2021 split. All players and staff are excited to work with Digital Isle of Man during our debut professional performance and I feel this will be a strong and valued partner for the organization moving forward. The Isle of Man has a lot to offer in terms of supportive structures and security, and they have already proven this with traditional sports and local companies. Getting involved with esports at such a pivotal time is a good move for the Isle of Man. It’s also great to see the Island continuing to support grassroots initiatives and those wanting to make a name for themselves in this space.”

“I trust that X7 Esports will be able to help put the Island on the map in this rapidly growing industry, and I look forward to seeing how the Isle of Man continues to support esports into the future,” he added.

In addition to lead sponsorship from Digital Isle of Man, Amber Gaming has also partnered with X7 and is supporting them to scale their brand through the provision of consultancy and professional services, including corporate and accountancy services delivered through their group of companies.

Resurgence Valorant roster banned for match-fixing by Riot Games

0

Riot Games has announced suspending professional Valorant players Malcolm “Fermsg” Chung and Ryan “Dreamycsgo” Tan, alongside the former Resurgence roster for manipulating the outcome of a competitive match.

‘Germsg’ and ‘Dreamycsgo’ will not be able to participate in the VCT for 36 months, while the former Resurgence roster will receive reduced penalties based on the level of their culpability and their cooperation with the investigation.

Riot has stated that the bans have been issued following investigations on the match-fixing allegations in the Resurgence versus BlackBird Ignis match during the VALORANT Ignition Series on 22 September 2020.

“Riot’s investigation found that Malcolm ‘Germsg’ Chung and Ryan ‘Dreamycsgo’ Tan coordinated to bet against their own team, Resurgence,” Riot Games said in a statement. “Germsg initiated the scheme and Dreamycsgo provided the capital. Germsg then informed the rest of the Resurgence roster about his bet.”

Here are the penalties that the other involved members will face, as stated in the blog post by Riot Games:

  • Justin “Boplek” Wong Chong Cheng and Sengdala “Jabtheboy” Jamnalong will be banned from VCT for 1 year
  • Du Min “Mortdecai” Yeo and Benedict “Benaf” Tan will be banned from VCT for 6 months
