PGLesports have announced that the first CSGO major in 2 years will take place in Stockholm in October.
Via a press release PGL esports announced that following the removal of all restrictions by the Swedish government for esports events, the PGL Stockholm Major will happen with every player present on-site, as well as fans allowed inside the famed Avicii arena, just like it was planned in January.
The Major will run from October 26th till November 7th, including the playoffs from Nov 4th – 7th inside the Avicii Arena. As announced earlier, the restrictions for fans inside an arena had already been lifted, allowing a maximum of 15,000 fans to be present.
The PGL Stockholm Major will be the first Major in more than 2 years, the first one after the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019. 2020 did have a Major plan for Brazil, that was, ESL One: Rio 2020 but could not take place owing to the Coronavirus Pandemic throughout the year. The Stockholm Major has a prize pool of $2,00,00,000 the most ever for a CSGO Major.
The tickets for the PGL Stockholm Major will go on sale on 22nd September, at 10:00 AM CET, and can be bought at the official website of the Avicii Arena, here.
