Some major champions have been buffed and nerfed along with some items adjustment. Read our complete article to know the detailed changes in the new Wild Rift update.

WILD RIFT NEW CHAMPIONS

BRAND, THE BURNING VENGEANCE

Once a tribesman of the icy Freljord named Kegan Rodhe, the creature known as Brand is a lesson in the temptation of greater power. Seeking one of the legendary World Runes, Kegan betrayed his companions and seized it for himself—and, in an instant, the man was no more. His soul burned away, his body a vessel of living flame, Brand now roams Valoran in search of other Runes, swearing revenge for wrongs he could not have suffered in a dozen mortal lifetimes.

Brand will be released on September 9 at 00:01 UTC.

NUNU & WILLUMP, THE BOY AND HIS YETI

Once upon a time, there was a boy who wanted to prove he was a hero by slaying a fearsome monster—only to discover that the beast, a lonely and magical yeti, merely needed a friend. Bound together by ancient power and a shared love of snowballs, Nunu and Willump now ramble wildly across the Freljord, breathing life into imagined adventures. They hope that somewhere out there, they will find Nunu’s mother. If they can save her, maybe they will be heroes after all…

The Frost and Flame event begins September 9 at 00:01 UTC

CHAMPION CHANGES

AHRI

The Ninetailed Fox is getting a small bugfix that will affect her power levels slightly, but don’t get your tails in a bunch. We don’t expect her to need compensation due to some other items being shifted.

  • FOX-FIRE
    • [BUGFIX] Movement speed will now properly decay over time

AKALI

Akali is performing too well in the Baron lane. We’re taking some of the power out of her passive to make it more difficult for her to secure a lead in the laning phase, and harder for her to chase down enemies later in the game. A ninja should be challenged.

  • ASSASSIN’S MARK
    • Movement speed: 50% → 30%
    • Base damage: 40-180 → 28-140

AKSHAN

Akshan is currently all bark and no bite, particularly with crit builds. We’re bringing up his baseline damage output and giving him some crit scaling to help out his late game.

  • AVENGERANG
    • Base damage: 5/30/55/80 → 5/35/65/95
  • HEROIC SWING
    • [NEW] Shots can now critically strike for 150% damage
  • COMEUPPANCE
    • [NEW] Damage per tick is increased by crit chance, up to 50% at 100% crit: (20/25/30 + 12.5% AD) x (1 + 50% Critical Rate) – (80/100/120 + 50% AD) x (1 + 50% Critical Rate)

GRAGAS

Gragas is causing too much of a ruckus on the Wild Rift, particularly at the highest levels of play. We’re toning down some of the utility and power that he has in abundance, giving his opponents some windows to play around.

  • BASE STATS
    • Armor per level: 4.7 → 4.3 (106 at level 15 → 101 at level 15)
  • BARREL ROLL
    • Base damage: 80/130/180/230 → 65/120/175/230
    • Slow: 40/45/50/55% → 30/35/40/45%
  • DRUNKEN RAGE
    • Cooldown: 4.5s → 5s

KATARINA

Katarina’s ability to shrug off damage coupled with her reliable mobility and strong damage output has been a source of frustration for opposing midlaners. We’re reducing her base health to make the Sinister Blade more vulnerable in the early laning phase.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base health: 650 → 570

KENNEN

The Heart of the Tempest is too soft and in need of a jolt. We’re giving him a few small bonuses to charge up his laning power. This should electrify Kennen’s presence in the Baron lane.

  • THUNDERING SHURIKEN
    • Base damage: 75/130/185/240 → 85/140/195/250
  • ELECTRICAL SURGE
    • On-hit bonus damage: 10/20/30/40 + 60% Bonus AD + 20% AP → 25/35/45/55 + 70/80/90/100% Bonus AD + 25%AP
  • LIGHTNING RUSH
    • Bonus attack speed: 40/50/60/70% → 50/60/70/80%

KHA’ZIX

The Void Reaver is too dominant of a predator. Besides his high damage, he’s too healthy when it comes time to gank his prey. We’re reducing Kha’zix’s healing and bringing down (1) Taste Their Fear’s damage. These changes should make his ganks slightly riskier and even the playing field for his victims.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base health regen 9 → 7.5
  • TASTE THEIR FEAR
    • Base damage: 60/95/130/165 → 50/85/120/155
  • VOID SPIKE
    • Healing: 55/90/125/160 → 40/75/110/145

MASTER YI

Master Yi has been overperforming with his recent buffs and his synergy with new items (like Navori Quickblades) is too strong. We’re pulling back on some of the power he gained from Patch 2.4a to ensure the Wuju Blademaster fights fairly.

  • BASE STATS
    • Health per level: 115 → 105
  • WUJU STYLE
    • Bonus true damage: 25/40/55/70 → 22/34/46/58
  • HIGHLANDER
    • Cooldown: 75/60/45s → 80/70/60s

RAKAN

Rakan and Xayah are truly a power couple in the Dragon Lane; however, the Charmer’s (3) Battle Dance has been providing Xayah with too much safety. To reduce frustration around this interaction, we’re lowering the bonus shield multiplier on Battle Dance when cast on Xayah and giving Rakan some buffs to keep him in line with other supports.

  • GRAND ENTRANCE
    • Base damage: 70/140/210/280 → 80/150/220/290
  • BATTLE DANCE
    • Bonus shield amount when cast on Xayah: 200% → 125%
  • THE QUICKNESS
    • Movement speed: 50& → 60%

SORAKA

The Starchild interfered with too many mortal affairs since her recent buff without risking enough. We’re tuning her down a bit so she thinks twice about rushing in to save her allies.

  • STARCALL
    • Rejuvenation buff duration on self: 4s → 2s
    • Rejuvenation total heal: 72/90/108/126 + 45%AP → 50/70/90/110 + 35%AP
  • ASTRAL INFUSION
    • Rejuvenation buff duration for ally: 4s → 2s

THRESH

While Thresh is a high-skill cap champion, his power levels upon release left something to be desired. We’re increasing the base soul drop rate and reducing (3) Flay’s charge time to compensate for Wild Rift’s faster pace and shorter gametime.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base health: 570 to 610
    • Base health regen: 7.5 to 11
  • DAMNATION
    • Base soul drop rate: 33% → 40% (Bad luck protection unchanged)
  • DARK PASSAGE
    • Shield strength: 55/110/165/220 → 65/115/165/215
  • FLAY
    • Passive charge time: 10s → 6s

WUKONG

Despite being a formidable jungler in Wild Rift, Wukong is still struggling to find his place in the Baron lane. We’re removing the healing reduction modifier from (1) Crushing Blow when he uses the skill against minions. This way, the Monkey King can better sustain himself during the laning phase.

  • GOLDEN STAFF
    • [REMOVED] 80% healing reduction modifier when attacking minions

XIN ZHAO

The Seneschal of Demacia has been dominating the WIld Rift jungle in high level play. In order to reduce some of his early game strength, we’re tuning some of Xin Zhao’s base stats.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base armor: 40 → 35
    • Base health: 650 → 610

ARAM CHANGES

ARAM CHANGES

EVELYNN

  • Damage dealt: 5% → 10%

GALIO

  • Damage received: -5% → 0%

GRAGAS

  • Damage received: -15% → -5%

KHA’ZIX

  • Damage received: -15% → -20%

NAMI

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

ITEMS

SOLARI CHARGEBLADE

While True Damage was exciting, it meant that Chargeblade was too universal in killing tanks, fighters and squishies alike. We’re sharpening it to be less optimal in the general situation and more optimal when the enemy team has a lot of squishier targets to burst down.

  • Ability haste: 25 → 15
  • Base damage: 26 – 40 True Damage → 24 – 52 Magic Damage
  • Max damage: 65 – 100 True Damage → 60 – 130 Magic Damage

WARMOG’S ARMOR

Following the lead of our PC friends, we’re making Warmog’s Armor’s unique passive trigger off of bonus health instead of max health. This way, players must opt into other health items to access its power.

  • [NEW] Warmog’s Heart trigger condition: 2500 maximum health → 950 bonus health

MAGE ITEMS

We found a few notable balance opportunities when examining mage items. Liandry’s Torment is still too prevalent of a buy on all-AP users, and players who rush Luden’s Echo or Awakened Soulstealer have been underperforming heavily compared to rushing other items. Additionally, the traditional users of Liandry’s Torment were overperforming by a considerable amount. We hope to balance out this pattern with the following changes to the mentioned items:

AWAKENED SOULSTEALER

  • AP: 65 → 70

HAUNTING GUISE

  • Madness: max damage amplification: 10% → 6%
    • Damage amplification per second: 2% → 1.2%

LIANDRY’S TORMENT

  • Madness: max damage amplification: 10% → 6%
    • Damage amplification per second: 2% → 1.2%

LUDEN’S ECHO

  • Ability haste: 10 → 20
  • AP: 80 → 85

RUNES

KEYSTONE: FONT OF LIFE

Font of Life has been a tad strong with high AP builds, so we’re toning it down a bit. This should keep it as a strong choice for support players, while bringing it more in line in the late game for players building high AP.

  • Allied healing AP ratio: 40% → 30%
  • Self healing AP ratio: 20% → 10%

FREE-TO-PLAY CHAMPION ROTATION

September 2 – September 8: Akali, Draven, Jax, Kha’Zix, Miss Fortune, Orianna, Rakan, Senna, Shyvana, Singed

September 9 – September 15: Amumu, Braum, Dr. Mundo, Lucian, Nami, Rengar,Teemo, Xayah, Yasuo, Ziggs

Netflix Gaming Kicks Off In Poland With Two “Stranger Things” Mobile Games

0

Just last month Netflix had revealed its intentions to enter into gaming market by offering in-house video games to its subscribers at no additional cost. During its Q2 2021 earnings report, Netflix stated that they are in “early stages” and view “gaming as another new content category for us, similar to our expansion into original films, animation, and unscripted TV.”

While the company didn’t reveal many details about its foray into gaming, some news outlets were already reporting about Netflix working on games related to its original IP and will soon offer games to its subscribers.

Netflix isn’t the first major company to try its luck in the gaming sector. In fact, other tech giants like Amazon and Google or some already established ones like Microsoft’s Xbox & Sony’s Playstation have a successful arm in the gaming industry. But, unlike other tech giants, Netflix plans to offer game made on its original IP at no additional cost, adverts, or microtransactions. Also, the company doesn’t plan to add a game streaming service, rather they will launch full-fledged mobile games

As it turns out, Netflix has recently begun testing its new service in Poland with the launch of two mobile games based on its original IP – Stranger Things. For now, Netflix has launched Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game as a test run for the service. Both games are supported only on android devices but Netflix has not ruled out plans to port it to iOS as well. Users subscribed to Netflix will be able to download and play these games at no additional cost from Google Play Store.

The company also has plans to offer games on console and PC in the future through its app on different platforms. Although for now only android users can enjoy this service. The company also has partnered with game developers such as Valve and Riot, to produce television content based on popular video games. Netflix has also hired industry expert, Mike Verdu as Vice President of Game Development to work on its gaming division. Before Netflix Mike has worked on multiple mobile game for publishers such Electronic Arts, Zynga, Atari, etc.

How to get Booyah easily in Free Fire

0

As the free fire max global version got announced, the player base seems to be increasing.

This new release will need some help for the people to adjust to the new mechanics introduced.

While adjusting to this difficult task shouldn’t be an issue , many will be needing a gentle guide to get them adopted.

So here are some ways to gauge the skills on increasing order of complexity. The more you get accustomed, the better your experience.

Let’s begin.

  1. Develop a playstyle.

One of the most important things for the Free fire beginners, is to figure their own playstyles. Either take up an aggressive Rush playstyle or the passive Camping playstyle.

Depending on their proficiency and hands-on experience , the players have to make this choice.

Alternatively, people with experience in similar games can opt for the very effective passive-aggressive playstyle which involves rushing and camping.

  • Weapon Recoil Patterns

With multiple Weapons at the disposal of the players , from measly but deadly bows to high range snipers all the weapons have their distinct characteristic and recoil patterns.

Figuring out which weapon suits you the best will be vital in earning a Booyah in free fire.

Beginners just have to focus on aiming and should try and keep their targets in frame while scoping such that seeking and firing becomes easier.

Staying updated on the weapon types and releases help a lot so here is a link to see the next weapon royale !

  • Using Utility in game

Often the in the heat of the moment , one of the most freely available aides i.e the gloo walls and smoke nades are often forgotten. These have shown to drastically improve the chances of players securing a Booyah like we saw in the ESPL 2021. When used correctly , can save the players from the gloo-iest situations. (pun intended)

Proving cover and smoking the spot allows fleeing or setting up counter attacks when under siege. Here are some tips and setup tricks for smoke grenades.

  • Rotation and in match mobility

Knowing when to rotate , why and how makes up the scale on which players advance from being an amateur at the game to becoming a expert player. Even though reaching the next safezone or the marked point is the goal , making sure you reach the destination without compromising your position to the other players , tactfully gives a very good high ground over other players.

Here is a video to give you a basic headstart on how to rotate :

  • Playing in a squad

One of the best ways to play any game is with an experienced squad. Practiced and emulated synergy is a very good way to learn the games and understand complex tactics either through firsthand communication or though mimicking your squadmates. People who play with seasoned players often learn faster, making the game feel more comfortable. Over a course of time this does lead to them earning solo booyahs on their own.

Watch how calculated moves and experience in a squad can increase the quality of gameplay by spectating one of the best pro player Amitbhai in garena.

Valorant Queue Disabled by Riot Games

0

If you’re finding yourself unable to queue for a ranked game for the past few hours, don’t worry. You’re not alone.

Riot Games has temporarily disabled the ranked queues for their tactical shooter Valorant to fix an underlying bug with users’ custom settings in-game.

For the unaware, Riot has been investigating an issue where players’ custom keybinds and other in-game settings would automatically reset at the start of a game. It seems like this problem has led Riot to temporarily disable the ranked queue for Valorant to prevent putting certain players at a disadvantage in important games.

The ranked queue is expected to go back live as soon as the bug is fixed by the developers, which is likely to take a couple of hours at most.

Players can still queue for other game modes like Unrated, Spike Rush, or Deathmatch. However, the problem may still reoccur and you may have to readjust your in-game settings manually in case they are automatically reset.

VCC: Best Plays From VLT vs Global Esports Grand Finals

At the end of May, Riot had announced its collaboration with Nodwin Gaming to give the South Asian region its first-ever official Championship event and to be a part of the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Circuit. The Conquerors Championship event will lead the winner (Global Esports) to the APAC Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) and from there onto the VCT Champions event, to be held later in November.

Global Esports’s Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar led the way at last week’s Valorant Conquerors Championship Grand finale against regional counterparts Velocity Gaming. The Indian side had initially qualified for the main VCC event from the second iteration of the Indian Qualifier and is currently led by Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani.

Let’s take a look at some memorable VODs packed by Nodwin in their fragmovie from the Indian derby.

SkRossi wins it for Global Esports

Best Moments- Grand Finals [Global Esports] Valorant Conquerors Championship #VCC

After getting his first pick over Sagnik “hellff” Roy, SkRossi made his way back to mid only to flank and catch two of VLT’s agents, unaware of the former. The flank further helped Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani to take a breather as the duo decided to rotate over to the B-site, leaving Marzil clueless knowing the latter’s location to be somewhere around the A-main. SkRossi had the final laugh over Marzil as the whole VLT had been caught off-guard.

SkRossi keeps VLT at bay

Now on the defense, SkRossi made light work of Velocity Gaming, by successfully fending off his team off VLT’s attackers. With the Bladestorm ability on his Jett, he first swirled his knife to eliminate Marzil who was caught securing the ultimate orb. Velocity Gaming lost two more players in the run of dismay towards the B-site giving Mr Ganesh Gangadhar 3 kills to his name.

HellrangeR, the line of solitary.

Best Moments- Grand Finals [Global Esports] Valorant Conquerors Championship #VCC

With the scores tied up 9-9, it had to be either VLT or Global Esports who were to take a lead, going forward in the match. This was indeed addressed by Mr Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani in the form of a perfect A-site anchor which saw him running away with 4 kills and a 11-10 lead over the Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma led side.

Caution, Sniper ahead.
Best Moments- Grand Finals [Global Esports] Valorant Conquerors Championship #VCC

Yes, SkRossi aced this round. But under what circumstances? It wasn’t easy for the fellow prodigy as Global Esports were on the course of charting a comeback and that’s when SkRossi popped off with his Operator. In an attempt to defend the A-site on Ascent, SkRossi had positioned himself in the Vines avenue only to draw first blood in the 17th round. VLT still continued to hit the A-site only to be sniped down from right, left and center by the one and only SkRossi.

With SkRossi all over Velocity Gaming, the duo of Jayanth “skillZ” Ramesh and Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury showcased a cumulative effort to get it done for Global Esports as they both racked up a combined 4k to deny VLT, the spot at the APAC Last Chance Qualifier.

You can catch the respective highlights below in the video uploaded by Nodwin on their YouTube Channel.

How Indian Teams reigned supreme at Nodwin’s VCC 2021

0

Global Esports may have won the first-ever Valorant Conquerors Championship. But, there were a lot of storylines that emerged from the event. One of them was the dominance of the Indian teams at VCC.

Despite having the same number of slots as combined regions like Pakistan and Afghanistan, VCC ended with Indian teams grabbing three of the top four placement slots at the event.

Enigma Gaming may not have won the event but they showed grit and determination to go all the way from the Wildcard Qualifiers to finishing fourth at the event. Velocity Gaming came close but could not be privy to the taste of a victory cigar in their mouth. Global Esports meanwhile, proved the giants rise harder than they fall, winning the VCC.

Let us take a look at how they managed to achieve such levels of dominance at the VCC.

Organizational Support

The biggest reason behind India’s rise in the world of Valorant in their region has been the support the players receive from organizations. Firstly, the number of organizations in Valorant have shot up when compared to the support fellow FPS title csgo received in the region.

Secondly, the organization not only support players and the teams financially but also by providing them the best condition to excel, be it in terms of hiring the best support staff – managers, cooks et al – or in the way of making sure they have access to the best gaming machines, peripherals and ISPs.

The salaries help players dedicate their entire time to the game without worrying about their financials, which is also a huge step from the earlier days of the FPS scene in India.

When compared to the rest of the South Asian region, Indian teams have been dealt a good hand in terms of the support received in Valorant.

Professionalism

The one differentiating factor between the csgo scene and the Valorant scene is definitely the added tinge of professionalism in the players. Since there has been an influx of organizations who have taken the proper route in terms of contracts, buyouts, negotiations and more, the players have also seemingly developed a professional outlook towards the game.

Tournament Organizers and Competitive Level

Again, the teams have been helped by the infinite number of tournaments happening every month, with several Tournament Organizers dipping their toes into the world of Valorant. The healthy frequency of events allows teams to not only put their practice to the test more often but also develop due to the level of competition.

Since the Indian teams are privy to more tournament attendances, they are also able to match up against the best in the region more often in an official setting. This differentiates India from other regions, wherein tournaments are few and far between. Most of the time, the only practice they get from Indian teams is in the form of scrimmage, which will mostly see teams try out new stuff and not play it with the same intensity required in an official match.

Hopefully, VCC will open doors for more tournament organizers to include the rest of the South Asian region in their tournaments, allowing for a more healthy frequency of events that pit the best of the entire South Asian region against each other, contributing to their growth in the process.

VCC: Enigma Gaming’s Ezzy records highest headshot percentage

According to data analytics from vlr.gg, Rishabh “Ezzy” Gupta from Enigma Gaming holds the highest headshot percentage in the recently concluded Valorant Conquerors Championship. Ezzy ended the tournament with a whopping 33 headshot percentage while playing Viper and Killjoy as his main operators.

He is further followed by his teammate Saharyar “BadmaN” Shaikh, moonlight (Damara gaming), Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma (Velocity Gaming), Mustafa “shooterR” Kamal (Team Exploit) who have the respective headshot percentages, 33, 32, 32, 31. As said, his teammate BadmaN too boasts a 33 percent headshot rate only to be sorted as per the “Average damage per round” data where Rishabh surpasses the former.

Enigma Gaming had qualified for the main VCC event from the Wildcard qualifier and made it to the Finals Playoffs from Group B, beating Salt Esports in their decider match.

They were later eliminated from the tournament following a loss to Global Esports in the Lower bracket round, having initially relegated by Velocity Gaming in their Finals opener.

You can catch Ezzy play live at the upcoming Yuvin Valorant Invitational cup and TEC Gauntlet : Season 2.
