A total of twelve teams are competing in the Group Stage with 8 direct entrants, 3 play-in winners and one Last Chance Qualifier Winner.

Wild Rift Esports is setting up a sustainable ecosystem in the Southeast Asian region by conducting multiple events. The ongoing SEA Championship is a huge regional competition with teams all over Southeast Asia competing for a large chunk of $200,000 prize pool.

The twelve play-in entrants were split into three groups A,B and C. These teams played against each other over the course of one week and after a rigorous competition, Divine Esports, Flash Wolves and Team Flash emerged victorious in their respective groups.

The amount of teams entering into group stages via play-ins were increased because Gamer Koala Team from Oceania withdrew from this competition. Alissa Violet files multi-million dollar lawsuit against FaZe Clan

0

Internet personality Alissa Violet has failed a lawsuit worth millions against FaZe Clan over a deal from 2018 that promised her shares from a company closely working with the esports organization at the time.

The company in question is Hubrick Limited, whose shares owned by FaZe were promised to Violet in exchange for her shares of Clout Gang. Hubrick Limited was sued by FaZe, Alissa Violet, and others for fraud only to yield a countersuit claiming the same.

The lawsuit was settled amicably when she entered an oral agreement with FaZe where they promised to make up for her loss with stocks. Alissa’s latest lawsuit is filed based on the same, where she claims that FaZe didn’t keep their promise as they are yet to hand over the promised stocks.

“Faze Clan is being sued because it specifically promised to compensate Alissa when it asked her to relinquish her Hubrick stock and asked her to dismiss her claims against Hubrick and others,” Alissa Violet’s lawyer, told The Washington Post. “If Faze Clan simply abided by its promise to compensate her, Alissa would not have had to sue Faze Clan.”

“Stories get created out of any disagreement or dispute, big or small,” said FaZe CEO Lee Trink. On this particular matter we’re in close communication and confident it’ll be resolved amicably.”

Not much about the suit has been disclosed so far but the value is assumed to be worth in millions given the stature of the companies involved.

Twitch’s new agreement with NMPA to protect streamers from DMCA strikes

0

Following multiple cases of wrongful DMCA takedowns, Twitch has come to an agreement with National Music Publisher’s Association to protect all the streamers on their platform from accidental DMCA strikes.

According to a report by Dexerto, Twitch was in talks with the NMPA for some time t develop a tool that will make life easier for streamers as well as music artists. Their latest agreement makes it easier for anyone to report unauthorized use of music on live streams before forcing a temporary ban on streamers from the platform.

The DMCA takedowns are often issued by accident and to take care of the streamers, Twitch put this tool in place that will be “flexible and forgiving” for the creators.

According to the recent developments, this is how it will work:

  • Similar to DMCA, the platform will review reports and check for completeness.
  • Unlike DMCA, they will give creators a chance to correct their offense by first issuing a warning:
    • VODs and Clips that contain unauthorized music will be removed
    • If a live stream involves flagrant music uses like rebroadcasting music concerts and pre-release tracks, the platform may also issue a warning or penalty dependent on the creator’s history of that kind of use.

“We’re excited to announce that we’ve entered into an agreement with the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) to build productive partnerships between Twitch and music publishers.” read Twitch’s email.

Valorant GO! Volume 2 leaked, would feature a butterfly knife

0

Valorant, Riot’s FPS, has been a resounding success since its release in 2020, thanks to its unique blend of tactical shooting mechanics and ability-based gameplay along with a wide selection of incredible-looking cosmetics that entice the player-base to grind the game out.

Dataminers on Twitter have managed to dig up the upcoming Valorant skin bundle ahead of its actual release, and fans are excited to know more about what skins the Valorant GO! Vol 2 bundle will offer. The new skin collection has been named ‘GO! Volume 2’ and will feature four weapons along with a butterfly knife, the likes we saw during the reveal of Yoru, where he had used the butterfly knife as a hair-comb to fix his hair post brief combat.

This will reportedly be the second iteration of the previous Anime themed bundle, dubbed as the GO! Volume 1. The bundle was initially leaked by ValorLeaks (Managed by RumbleMike) on his Twitter handle, a data miner who is well known for his leaks and has never failed to surprise the public with the same.

The brand new GO! Volume 2 skin bundle will feature:

  • Phoenix themed Vandal
  • Viper themed Classic
  • Razer themed Ares
  • Sova themed Operator
  • Yoru themed Butterfly Melee (This would be the game’s second Butterfly melee after its first ever version was introduced in the Recon Skin Bundle)

The Valorant GO! Vol 2 Bundle will replace the Zedd themed Spectrum Skin Bundle on the market. The bundle was further shown in action by Alejandro “BlackEspanolito” García on his YouTube channel

New CSGO Operation Riptide announced by Valve

Valve has just shipped a new update for CSGO players to fawn over, a new operation: Operation Riptide. Operation turnover hasn’t been this quick since 2016, as the difference between operations has been considerably longer- 10 months for Operation Hydra (2017), 2 years for Operation Shattered Web (2019), 8 months for Broken Fang (2020) and finally just 5 months for Operation Riptide.

CSGO Operation Riptide

The new operation brings with it, a huge number of changes to the game. The most prominent of these are of course, the changes to the meta. As per the patch notes, Grenades are now droppable in most game modes, something that wasn’t possible. This small change could have huge repercussions, especially in the Pro scene as it would give teams a HUGE variety of strats to discover and implement in their games.

Another great change is the introduction of Private Queues, this feature allows players to queue with and against their friends after using a player-generated queue code. This wasn’t possible before on official valve servers but this update allows players to play against each other in teams, in a pair or even solo – all on Valve’s servers. This is also enabled for Steam Groups, i.e. Private Queues for a single steam group to match against each other.

Coming to one of the most awaited parts of operations- the skins. Valve has introduced 5 collections of New Agents, the new Riptide Case, and 4 new collections namely – The Train Collections, The Mirage Collection, The Dust2 Collection and The Vertigo Collectio

It also includes Riptide Patches, Operation Stickers and Riptide Surf Stickers too.
Players also have the options to queue for different lengths of Competitive matches, the short matches have a maximum of 16 rounds while the regular MR30 format is still there. 3 new Deathmatch modes are also present – The Classic Valve Deathmatch, New Team Deathmatch and Free For all Deathmatch.

5 new maps have been introduced as well, in different game modes and changes to existing maps as well such as Dust2, which we will cover later.
Weapons are now more balanced, with the M4A1-S doing more damage to the body while the Desert Eagle does a little less damage to the body, stopping the body shot spams which the pros hated too.

Valorant Patch Notes 3.06 Revealed: Massive Jett Nerf, Map Changes, and More

0

The patch notes for the highly anticipated Valorant patch 3.06 have finally been unveiled by Riot Games, and it has brought in some significant changes to the competitive shooter. The newly introduced changes range from map improvements to agent ability adjustments that can easily change the current meta. Here’s everything you need to know about Valorant patch 3.0.

The agent changes in Valorant patch 3.06 include some massive nerfs to Jett, the South Korean duelist who was being picked in pubs and pro games alike. The newest Valorant agent, KAY/O has received some buffs that may help him surface to the meta. Skye has also seen some adjustments that will curb her impact in the game by a margin.

Besides this, changes to the Valorant maps have also been introduced alongside some bug fixes. The map changes will enable attacks to safely plant the spike while allowing defenders to hold their ground by improving the sturdiness of some of the boxes in sites.

Here are the patch notes of Valorant 3.06 as announced by Riot:

AGENT UPDATES

SKYE

We’ve liked that Skye has been able to play off her own flash more and more. But lately, there’s a sense that it’s become too effective and optimal to play off of herself in some situations. An increase to the unequip time should make it slightly more difficult for Skye to capitalize on Guiding Light bird flashes as quickly as before—making coordinated play or different styles of flashes more competitive.

The increased activation time aims to give prepared enemies a slightly larger window to react, without trivializing her main Initiator tool. Also, we’ve seen both the frequency of Skye’s ult and its effectiveness increase as players have become more skilled with the Agent. Looking at the recon and impact it can provide, it now seems more appropriate amongst the ults that cost seven points.

  • Guiding Light (E)
    • Unequip time after casting or bending Guiding Light’s projectile increased .5 >>> .75
    • Windup time after activation before the flash goes off increased .25 >>> .3

Seekers (X)

  • Seekers (X)
    • Cost increased 6 >>> 7
KAYO.png

KAY/O

When we first launched KAY/O, we had two big questions: “How strong is Suppression for initiation?” and “Can regular flashbangs exist against other flashes in VALORANT?” Although we believed the ability to lab out flashes was where the power could come in, we over-indexed on telegraphing the projectile, which is holding back its success.

These changes should help reward those of you that put in additional effort to throw clever pop flashes. As far as the ultimate goes, we wanted to increase the baseline value of the ultimate by ensuring a longer suppression window for those explosive site takes.

  • FLASH/drive
    • Duration of windup telegraph reduced 0.5s >>> 0.3s
    • Duration of windup telegraph reduced on Right Click 1s >>> 0.3s
    • The audio attached to the in-flight projectile has been removed
  • NULL/cmd
    • Does not stop pulsing after being downed
jett-banner.png

JETT

  • Cloudburst charges reduced 3 >>> 2
    • Our feeling here is that Jett has one too many smokes, and it’s contributed to a sense that she could get away with using them at any time, have more to spare, or spam them without much thought.
    • The reduced charges for her smoke should hopefully make the choice on whether to smoke a choke point, smoke a path for a dash, or make a one-way, a more tactical one.
  • Bladestorm Right-click/Alternate Fire kills no longer recharge Jett’s kunai
    • By removing the recharge, we hope Jett mains will optimize for the single kunai kills in order to keep the Bladestorm going and really play into the high precision fantasy Jett is all about.
    • We want to incentivize the high skill primary fire kills while still allowing the low-risk-low-reward burst fire option.
  • Bladestorm Right-click/Alt. Fire damage changes are reverted, damage and multipliers will mirror the left-click
    • We’ve seen Jett’s right-click be very unpredictable and feel that it’s confusing to have different damage rules than the left-click. This change should unify how both modes of fire work and provide a little more predictability if Jett decides to go for the single kill as opposed to chaining.
